Good Card - 7 Mana 7/7 is ok on it`s own (sure not the best but ok) but the End of Turn Effect makes it pretty darn good.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Looks good in Rush Warrior. It can't be ignored and it generates tempo. Also that deck wants kinda needs a filler for the 7-slot
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Nice to finally see this Warcraft legend in Hearthstone. Seems like a good card for control warrior, albeit a bit slow. Not sure if rush warrior wants it since at that point in the game you usually want to go face, but the 7 mana slot is rather dry so it might slot in.
Hmm this is basicly a faster and better The Boogeymonster. Sure Lothar attacks a random minion, but it does attack the turn you play him, which is so good. Also Lothar works very well in BIG warrior decks, which i hope can make a return.
Lothar is also strong in control warrior decks, but honestly i feel like he's often going to be a worse Troublemaker, considering most (mainly aggro) decks have multiple minions on board. But still if your opponent doesn't remove Lothar, he can really become a giant nuisance... And thats it, considering Troublemaker at least builds a board of minions if it doesn't get removed.
Honestly when i first saw Lothar i was very excited, but after looking into similar cards i'm honestly quite baffled how this is a legendary effect these days, when Troublemaker basicly does the same job, and you can add 2 of them in your deck. Sure Lothar is playable 1 turn earlier, but still Lothar after trading is often quite weakend and easy to remove. Oh and Venomous Scorpid will probably be played often as well, so you also have to basicly babysit Lothar to make sure he doesn't attack a poisonous minion.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Its honestly just decent. And in standard, the prerequisite for high costed cards to be included tend to be broken levels of good.
Quite unfortunate. This card does have that chance to snowball, but its a very small snowball running down a road filled with lava. There's plenty of cards in warrior that will just go nuts if left untouched like Troublemaker or Rokara and the best thing this card can muster is to maybe kill the thing you need dead and go face at the same time. That is, if it even lives past the first turn at all.
Its not because its bad, but I really don't think it'll make the cut, sadly.
I agree with the assessment. My initial impression is it does the same as Troublemaker but on a turn earlier and a weaker overall effect.
Comparison:
Pros:
Cons:
I'm having doubts this can be ran alongside rush war in existing builds.
Jep, I also agree with the Troublemaker assessment. One small thing tho, compared to JackJimson's pros and cons: It's not necessarily a downside that it can't hit face, giving it a higher chance to hit that must kill minion.
Arena > Wild > Standard
So end of turn effects are inherently good and sought after on big minions by control warrior. I still feel this card can just randomly die if attacking a high attack minion. Might see play in a big warrior that's running Commencement but it's not really that amazing for a legendary, considering everyone is comparing it to Troublemaker
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
It sounds like an interesting card, but I'm not sure how much value it can get. The best option is on a board with couple medium sized opposing minions. So you can clear one and still have a good sized threat left over. I do wonder if the buff can 'heal' it back up from being killed. For example, at 7/7 if it attacks an 8/6 minion it will have its health reduced to -1. But since it killed the minion it attacked it will gain +3/+3 to go to 10/2. We see a similar situation in Battlegrounds with the Monstrous Macaw triggering a Goldrin effect.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Interesting on specific board states

Attacks twice a turn, nice. The "random" part isn't great, especially with Venomous Scorpidso common. Fun idea though. Reminds me of a bigger Darius Crowley.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
In most cases this will act as a 7 mana 10/10 with a random rush. Not terrible, but maybe too slow. At that point in the game stats become less important since your opponent will have access to much more efficient removal options. If it survives it can snowball like crazy, but I don't think it will work consistently enough in enough matchups to be played.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
1 Star from me. Remembers me of Darius Crowley but later and without control. And Darius was not played that much.
Spendy, and without Rush or Charge it may not see tons of play
Great card, but the problem is that at that mana you may need to hit specific targets and missing them while this not having taunt or creating some protection could be really bad.
What I don't understand is, if this attacks manually a minion and kills it, does the +3+3 also trigger?
Getting Crowley vibes, but rereading the text, it does seem that he only gains stats from the random attacks killing the minions and not from normal attacks. He's going to be like 30th or 31st card in Rush/Handbuff Warrior.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
This card is not very good. It's like a cross between Boogeymonster and Troublemaker. The biggest downside however is it ONLY gets the stats if it kills a minion with the effect at the end of the turn, not when it trades. Maybe the questline will offer support, but as a standalone this card barely makes 2-stars, which is unfit for someone as mighty as Anduin Lothar.
the effect is just a little bit unpredictable, unless there's only one other minion - and a weaker one too - on board

Great card, nice reuseable beat-stick. If you have Rokara on board, he'll grow even more.

I actually see this card and Troublemaker as more different than some people think. Sure, they do similar things, but Lothar isn't so much about getting more stats on board and pinging for 3 as he is more of a balanced Illidari Inquisitor for control Warrior, having pseudo Windfury after the turn he's played. And since we're talking about control Warrior, the "attack an random minion" can be read as "attack the leftover small minion".
Like I said, he's a balanced version of Illidari Inquisitor, he doesn't represent immediate 8 damage when played nor 16 damage after that, but the scaling can still get out of control fast. If anything, I'd rather have Lothar's text on Illidari Inquisitor and something more unique as a legendary effect for him.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Sure but still it could clear a 6 or even 7 health minion and when it does it get`s stronger. If the opponent has more minions on board this one surely loses some initial strength but depending on how much minions the opponent has this could still be pretty good.

Personally I think this card is not at the height of a legendary, much less for a character of the level of importance of Sir Lothar ...
I would have preferred something like:
At the end of your turn attack a random enemy and gain +3/+3.
9 (or 10) MANA
7/7
7 attack should kill most things, and the next time around it will have 10. I'm not sure how much it will kill before the health total is worn down to 0 though.
He is ok but compared to ragnaros he takes damage.
A weaker Troublemaker. Wasted legendary card design
Rogue DH
Not bad, but nothing that really excites me.
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
I don't see this card making an impact.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
Worse Troublemaker IMO, because it only damages minions at end of turn. In certain situations this minion's stats might potentially spiral out of hand though especially if you somehow manage to double your end of turn effects.
7 mana 7/7 Crowley.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
I seems an interesting card, but I am not sure how will fit in the meta
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
I think it seems like Darius Crowley with windfury if it survives the first attack, have an enormous snowball potential
It's a good card with great stats, so it might actually see some play. Nothing crazy, but good enough to be run for sure!
7 mana 7/7 pseudo-Rush seems alright, especially with the buffs he gives himself. You kind of need to be ahead on the board to capitalise on it, but Warriors don't have a hard time keeping boards in check. Not having a chance to hit face has positives and negatives, but at least if he survives you can swing face and still kill a minion with him.
