Obviously this is way too slow and inconsistent for Standard but it'S a very creative new type of removal.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Not sure what you've been playing, but I see solo fatties on the opponent's board all the time in the late game.
Arena: Mutanus the Devourer is a good card and this does practically the same, but potentially more than once and you have more control over what it's going to target as you actually know its possible targets. That's a lot of upside for just one more mana. Now, there is a big downside too. The targets are in play meaning they can get their battlecry, deathrattle or whatever it is off. Abominable Lieutenant would have been insane not too long ago, but is simply the powerlevel that cards need to have at this mana cost in order to see play these days. Thanks to better consistency, cards like Illidari Inquisitor and Templar Captain are better than this.
Constructed: Too inconsistent and too expansive. Won't see play.
Arena > Wild > Standard
They are really wanting to push BIG decks for Vanndar Stormpike support in AV. Big DH just got interesting with Proving Grounds support also. 6 mana, destroy 2 enemy minions, gain 2 big boys.
I'm not sure what you've been playing but I don't usually get to a point where I just play an 8-mana minion and win off it. This is a dead card against plenty of decks that are currently popular. Unless we enter a midrange meta where a constant barrage of lategame threats is common I don't think this is worth a deckslot.

Well its too slow for the current meta, but with all of the late game/control support shown so far, the meta might slow down from aggro into midrange. And in a midrange meta this might actually see play, mainly in BIG decks. Reminder this costs only 5 mana after stormpike. And it obviously is a good arena card in the worst case scenario.
Lots of interesting design cards so far, i love it!
Also can we just appreciate that lt. Eddy got to reveal a card with "lieutenant" in its name! That must have been intentional! :)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Constructed? Awful, even in a meta about playing the biggest minion onto the board (which will never happen.) Depending on how Eating works with deathrattles and the like, it can have a niche application though.
Arena? 5 Stars, you're picking this every time, and the game is gonna devolve into a game of chicken between who drafted more of them or the removals to get rid of them.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
This will fit in very nicely in the McDonalds Rogue deck in wild featuring Gral, the Shark and Mutanis. Now if only I could get the Hamburgler portrait instead of Scabbs... Oh well, I know what deck I'm playing at bronze 10 in December!
This feels like tech card bait. This is not likely to be a combo breaker since it doesn't interact with hands or decks, so it needs to eat a valuable minion in a tempo oriented game. But on turn 8 there are probably better things you could be doing in that kind of match up.
Gonna eat a ton of Moarg forgefiends in Arena. Pretty freaking efficiently too
This card may even dictate classes if it's pickrate is high enough- if you can't remove it.... Game over man.
The Only Constructed Deck Worth Playing:

Its just a maybe card. Basically if everyone is running big minions this bad boy will turn the tide really quickly.
But where it is not, this card is trash. In fact, the entire viability of this card hinges on it being able to do its job, which is usually to remove a key minion from your opponent's board. Unfortunately, this card can't even guarantee it, being forced into a coin toss by a mere Murloc Tinyfin on board.
In ranked, you can bet this will only ever come out as a discover option, and even then it signals desperation.
Very flavorful card that can join Gral, the Shark and have a feast. Obviously an arena decimator but in constructed, he'll just end up being minion removal and a ball of stats, which in this day and age, isn't flashy enough.
Might see play in a big DH or some Vanndar Stormpike deck, but won't be seen much elsewhere.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
At first glance this seems way to slow - but if the meta will shift to a slower/Control-ish one this could be bonkers.
Sureley it does not happen often but sometimes the opponent has one big thing on the board and you can eat it with this and become a new threat!
I kinda like it and with stuff like ramp druid this can come out pretty soon too.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Riiight ... because we never see big shifts in the metagame when an expansion comes out.
Also, where did I say you'd win off it? I don't remember saying that. This strange taste ... it's ... it's like ... words other than my own have been stuffed in my mouth.
We're not talking about big meta shifts in general, we're talking about a specific meta in which singular big threats stand alone on the board at turn 8. Unless Big DH suddenly becomes S-tier I don't think that's happening.

the 8 mana on the front end is really not appealing. I think it will be used for random spot removal, but I cannot see a deck utilizing this too much. If the meta was flushed with "evasive" minions, then this would be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but there are better options especially for the cost
Too inconsistent and too weak by itself. Decent in arena though.
Maybe. Seems bad right now, but it could be alright if it eats something big, then becomes too big to trade into.
I hope the "eat" mechanic finds its way onto more and more cards. This is a bit like a less-flexible Troublemaker, but what a tech card for a Big Paladin meta.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Makes for a great Arena card that scales & removes, each turn!
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Note to self. Never leave only one big minion past turn 8 when playing arena.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Very powerful board Mutanus the Devourer if you manage to summon it without paying for his full mana cost. Strong synergy with Vanndar
This is insane in arena. Not sure about standard though. And there's stronger stuff in wild.

Might be tech'd some day if meta ever slows down but so far it doesn't feel good. For 6 mana it would be good to counter quest minions but at 8? Nope.
A repeating Mutanus the Devourer for the board? Sounds good to me. Of course there will be bad deathrattles to trigger, but you take you risks on a calculated basis. I think this will be fun to play.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
I love it! Probably too slow right now, but it's a really cool effect that I'd love to mess around with.
Welcome to the site!
Abonimably bad, might see some play in Arena where most bad cards give their appearance.
Really good arena card, I can imagine the salt from this eating huge minions!
