Looks like they're trying to dial back the power creep in this expension. Had to be done at some point. Last time was maybe Rastakhan.
This is not naga, what species she is? :D
She was a human before she allied with Azshara and got transformed into what she is now. She doesn't technically have a race afaik.
Thanks for explaining the lore
What transformed her? And how is the process distinct from N'Zoth transforming the highborne into Naga? In other words, let's have a philosophical debate over whether Lady Ashvane is in fact a naga :P
Naga's are specifically night elves that were transformed via N'zoth following Azshara's pact with him, and are generally serpant like (although BFA brought other forms, such as crab/lobster esc ones)
Lady Ashvane was originally human (Kul'tiran) and was transformed by Azshara herself as 'reward'. She also occupies a much less reptiliian look than most naga primarily do. Because she was not originally an elf, and also not transformed by N'zoth she generally isn't considered a Naga, just a monstrosity really.
I'm not sure the night elf origin really matters when you end as something completely different, nor do I think it is essential that N'Zoth was involved. Hypothetically, someone could transform a human into something identical to a naga using the same magic as N'Zoth used. Choosing not to call them a naga would be defining the race by its past, and not what it is in the present. That's an option, but I don't think it's a very useful one.
Ashvane is probably a bit too monstrous to even fit a loose definition accommodating the forms from BfA, but she's close enough on many levels that she might be helpful in establishing that definition.
Need to see the weapons first
The card it self is a good representation of the character.
not exciting...
Captain Greenskin Powercreep = 5 Star Card
I'm surprised this isn't a 5/6
I'm suprised this has no rush and taunt and doesn`t draw 2 cards.
Hobart Grapplehammer was 2 mana and saw a resounding zero play whatsoever.
This card has one thing going for it, in that it also buffs your current weapon by +1+1. But is that really enough to justify the inclusion of a 5 mana 5/5 that has no other description?
Unless there's some massively powerful weapon down the line, or something as simple as Arcanite Reaper I really dont think anyone would need it.
Hobart also didn't buff weapons in hand and most importantly don't ignore the +1 durability. +1 durability means one extra swing which means infinitely more value than a single attack point.
Any weapon that has great value would love this. Outrider's Axe alone is enough of a reason to play this because it gives you not only potentially one more card but also a far better ability to actually get the draws.
Hobart Grapplehammer did buff the ones in your hand.
my bad, I meant weapons that are equipped...quite literally in hand.
Ahh! I see. Yeah… it didn't do that.
+1 Durability is a lot better than +1 Attack.
This card is definitely insane that's a lot of damage. Definitely a very strong card.
Imagine a 3/3 weapon turning into a 4/4. 9 Damage vs 16!
Absolutely Insane. A 5/2 weapon becomes a 6/3. 10 damage becomes 18.
Hobart Grapplehammer saw tons of play on pirate warrior at Gadgetzan's meta with Small-Time Buccaneer and Patches the Pirate.
But saw play because was a 2 mana card, a 5 mana card doesn't fit on an hyperaggro deck, so i don't see that card being played ATM.
