I was hoping the few last card reveal gonna show that Hunter Colossal card. Seems I was wrong.
Its clearly the last one if we speculate on the small pic shown. Unsurprising, since team5 likes to leave a few good ones for the final reveal video.
The general consensus online is that the big hydra in the new Hunter Secret card art is the class Colossal. The spoiler art for the final reveal stream looks a lot like one of the necks of a big green hydra . . .
As a Hunter main this has me excited! I really hope it won't be a underwhelming as I've been quite dissappointed with what Hunter has been getting lately, and by that I don't mean that Hunter wouldn't have meta decks, but legendaries themselves just didn't click with me at all.
Although I must admit, they showed only 2 spells (yet) for Mage this expansion. Such a relief to actually see meta without Spell mage.
So this is basically in the best scenario: 2 mana 3/2: draw a mech from your deck. Does this make me excited? Not really. And this one of the best dredge cards. This low key worries me that all dredge package might flop hard.
Is just the Sunken Sweeper tutor... the combo is clear
They've not shown us anything yet that suggests a "dredge package" really exists beyond running a couple of cards. My guess is either the other half of the rogue cards are about dredge shenanigans, which is plausible, or the keyword is never meant to play more than a secondary/supporting role in decks.
There is quite a number of Sunken cards, that you get to dredge from the bottom of your deck, but so far it's just manipulation with your next draw. I don't need to manipulate my draw if I can just draw my whole deck if I need to.
Practically speaking there are currently only 2 sunken cards though: Ambassador Faelin and 1 for whichever class you are playing. So no single deck has much to use dredge on yet.
Of course drawing your whole deck is another option, but even in modern HS that still way slower than dredging if the goal is to get the thing you sunk. Indeed, several of the sunken cards would make no sense if you drew them last since a significant part of what they do requires you to still have a deck.
Dredging either one of those options will create a huge swing. Also, after playing Ambassador Faelin, you'll get a Colossal on your next three dredges. There's no need to pack your deck full of sunken stuff to make the keyword worthwhile.
And let's try to remember that dredging in general is useful even if it doesn't provide an immediate impact.
Just a good 2 drop for a class that really requires it if the idea if to make mech mage work.
Is also an efficient card to get Sunken Sweeper up, but I doubt any tempo deck would purposefully keep a 2 mana card in hand just to do that instead of playing it outright.
It seems that mage and hunter are the best classes in this expansion. Lots of low cost efficient cards that create solid brand new mechanics (mech mage seems way Better than mech pala, as well as mage nagas seems the stronger of all the package) or monstruosly boost old ones (Quest hunter).
Simple and effective (Perfection?)
Combination of dredge and draw adds a lot of Precision
Actually provides Unity for mech mage decks
I'll let myself out
