A trash! A false illusion that this otk will work! In a meta full of disruption-type cards! Blizzard is selling us illusions!!
I will speak in my language: Enfia no CU, Blizzard!
This just seems like a completely broken archetype, the spells and minions are just way too good and has a very strong finisher on turn 8 already with just Elemental + the Apprentice (each of those 1 mana shards is a fireball!) if you have 4 in hand that’s 24 damage, and if you don’t play Renethal then good luck to you
Face Mage.
We are in end times.
Feels uninspired to me. We shall see!
Blizzard never learns it, huh? There was a solid reason Sorcerer's Apprentice was nerfed from 2-Mana to 4-Mana because mana cheating is problematic and not healthy for Hearthstone game. Now, we get one-sided effect, I don't even know what to say or imagine what Blizzard is smoking :sigh:
Well here we go, arcane bolt OTK all setup. 9 mana, Vexallus -> Magister's Apprentice -> one spell damage minion + 4 Arcane Bolts = 32 damage. And by the looks of it, you can get at least 8 arcane bolts per game as of this reveal. So its theoretically possible to do it even if they have 60 health.
Dangerous stuff, except mage doesn't draw the same way warlock or druid does, and its still susceptible to a mad duke play. Lose Vexallus and the whole house of cards crumbles down. I think we see the problem here; spooky mage can reliable end games somewhere around turn 10 and unlike this deck is at least more resilient against most archetypes and doesn't just auto lose to theotar. So in other words this OTK is unconvincing, at least not in a meta that's filled with so many disruption cards.
That said, Im pretty sure it'll be at least tier 2-3, and some pro will make full use of double magister's apprentice, regardless of whether vexallus actually ends the game.
I'm a bit lost here.
Arcane Bolt deals 3 damage when it's Manathirsted. 4 Arcane Bolts would deal 12 damage. Where are you getting 32 from?
+1 spell damage at turn 9 = 4 damage * 2 because of Vexallus = 8
8 damage * 4 Arcane Bolts = 32
Vexallus + Magister's Apprentice + spell damage minion (Kobold Geomancer etc.) = 9 mana. Arcane bolts are free.
Oh fuck. Somehow I completely forgot that we're talking about a card that makes your spells cast twice.
Well, that's embarrassing, hahaha.
They better nerf Time Warp to 6.
I mean, nerfing Quest Mage is all fine and dandy but how does it relate to this? Not a single one of these cards would see play in Quest Mage.
I think the 1/2 could definitely see play in quest mage
Coins are more desirable as a Quest completion tool (partly because of Sivarra) and come bundled with better statted minions to boot. If you play the 1/2 and then the spell it generates, you've spent 2 mana to progress your quest, got a 1/2 and dealt 2 damage. If you use something like Licensed Adventurer, you've spent 1 mana to progress your quest and got a 3/2. You don't really care about the damage cause you just ignore the board and hide behind Ice Blocks, so you essentially get the same result for 1 less mana (2 less damage but 2 more attack on the minon). And given how hyper-focused Quest Mages are at completing the quest in as little mana as possible, I think the coin strat still outperforms everything this Arcane package offers.
You mean to 4? So parrots won't cast it.
"Nerf" it to 4 and strip the spell of its Arcane school; let's hedge all of our bets lol
