SoU - Golden Legendary Crafting

Is anyone planning on crafting a golden legendary before opening packs to ensure they get a golden copy of a legendary they really want?  

Curious as to any good candidates for a golden craft for this set.  For Rise of Shadows I crafted a golden Elysiana because anything that generates more golden cards is a win in my book lol.

I might try to target one or two legendaries to craft golden just looking to see if anyone else is of the same mindset.

I considered Zephrys because i feel like i will play him a lot! Won‘t do it though, my collection is far from complete.

Many people crafted golden Wizzbangs in the past!

There are not many big card generators this time around... Elise maybe? Or the mage quest? 

Zephrys the Great is most definitely on my day one golden craft list.
Elise the Enlightened could be an intersting one, card generation-wise. Or even some of the quest to get a matching hero-power/hero-portrait. Following that same gold-card-generator rational, I'm also tempted by Shadow of Death & Clever Disguise.

I'll have to review the full set to really make up my mind ; dust is too expensive to be wasted away.

I had 4 Must-Craft-Golden Legendaries in RoS, but I didn't wait for the official release. Instead I opened the packs during pre-release and got all 4 of them, plain versions of course... Crafted 2 of them afterwards (Hagatha and Boom), but it had a bittersweet taste.

So yeah, gonna craft some golden legendaries before opening, most likely Zephrys the Great, Armagedillo and one or two quests.

I also craft for the golden generation (usually minions more than spells or weapons).  King Phaoris, Zephrys the Great, and Elise the Enlightened are my tier 1 golden crafts for their extra golden card generation.  I will be crafting these 3 day 1 so hopefully I don't receive 1 of them as the freebie.   

Anka, the Buried, is tier 2. I might craft it but probably not.  Tier 3 includes Raid the Sky Temple, Hack the System, Making Mummies, Dinotamer Brann, Bazaar Burglary, and Sir Finley of the Sands.  There is some extra golden value here but not enough to craft.  These 2 tiers are what I want from the bundled free golden legendaries.  I have pretty poor luck with the bundled legendaries so I will probably get 2 cards not on this list

I can't afford to craft golden legendaries, but if I ever had enough dust to do it, I'll craft the following in gold:

Zephrys the Great

Siamat

Dark Pharaoh Tekahn

I'd also love golden versions of these non-legendary cards:

Bloodsworn Mercenary (best HS card art I've seen in a while)

Overflow

Riftcleaver

I do not understand...why would you craft a golden legendary to ensure your free one is the one you want? Why not then create the one you want directly? If you have the dust for it anyway...I must be missing something here.

Do yourself a favor and don't craft golden cards it's the most pointless feature of the game I would rather play 2 different legendaries than one that has a little animation.

As well as try to avoid crafting any legendaries on day one, except very safe ones like Siamat(there's no way this card isn't good) or shaman quest which looks solid enough.

I'll definitely craft a golden Zephyris, great addition for a 35 legendary card deck.

I think you misunderstood. The order is:

1) get free ones; can’t avoid because it happens on login 

2) craft the Golden you want

3) open preorder packs

The suggestion is to do Step 2 before Step 3 so that you don’t wind up getting a non-Golden version of the same legendary first. 

I tend to go for golden shaman collection so I'll craft Corrupt and vesssina. Corrupt could be good craft anyway as the quest seems strong enough to maybe get nerfed.

I only tend to craft Neutral Golden Legendary cards as they always tend to get the most use in my opinion. I especially Golden cards that help generate more cards (that are also golden) - My day one golden crafts will be Zephrys the Great and Siamat

I opened my preorder packs and ended up with a regular Zephrys, which would've been something else had I waited and crafted those two prior to opening. So in hindsight, I would say hold off on opening if you have a specific card you know you want to craft golden and craft it.

Well this card got both elemental and battlecry synergies, it's a 7 drop with decent stats for it's ability, very flexible and there are not many 7 drops being played right now.

I can see this card not seeing play if the meta is too fast, but in the 1.5 years the card is out there is no way this card won't be played in a top deck the power level is there and it has the potential to have more synergies.

For me Elise the Enlightened and probably Zephrys the Great.

Also, I know it's not a legendary, but I really want Questing Explorer in gold. I just love that card.

But the conversion rate then is 1:1... so why bother? I mean, if you used the 1600 dust to craft a *different* legendary, I’d get it, but flipping a golden version into the exact same thing seems like a kind of arbitrary commitment to principal.

I simply don't like the golden "art" it has.

you should still keep the golden one in case one day there is another legendary you want and you need spare dust. all you are doing is losing potential dust.

but I can understand not wanting your card to be golden, I feel the same way.
