Well, to be honest, there are ways to build around this and people are just theorizing them, i'm not entirely sure why you responded to my post and not one of those.
I was just saying that isn't worth it, and is at best played as it is, which i don't think is good to begin with.
For what we know, maybe the other cards will support this one
The stealth and secret support makes sense - Rogue's getting this stuff to be more distinguished from Demon Hunter's tempo and weapons, I think.
There's always overlap between classes so I don't think there's going to be any drive to cut back on rogue's tempo and weapon side. There's lots of stuff demon hunters are supposedly bad at that rogue usually gets tools for anyway, e.g. single target removal and card generation.
But yes, it is good for this expansion especially to lean on rogue's other aspects. Even more so given the class is doing just fine as it is, so they can do something janky like bring back secrets.
I think this is scary just because of Galakrond and Heistbaron Togwaggle are still around. So much draw power, nevermind the potential for discounting the card outright! Given that this is Galakrond Rogue which means an endless source of Lackeys, it's possible you've grinded through all their boards, only for them to play the Prime version when you've run out of indirect removal.
Hakuna Akama!
what a wonderful phrase~
Hakuna Akama!
ain’t no passing craze~
It means more worries~
for the rest of your days!
It’s our killing spree~
philosphy!
Hakuna Akama~
The perma stealth will be very good for tempo decks that want to do unavoidable damage that cannot be interacted with by a minion. I think this will be too slow for aggro because playing a 6 mana 6/5 is too slow against control decks
First off, I'm hoping this finally means rogue has a bit of a stealth focus again; aside from the odd card here and there, this had amazingly only been pushed once previously in MSoG.
Even failing that, rogue has lots of shuffle shenanigans, and perhaps importantly a tutor for the prime card in Stowaway. So just because of the other class tools there's more to work with than the other prime cards. Though it does have to compete with / find a home in the current top deck so it still may not have a big presence in the meta.
The surprise is that Maiev Shadowsong won't be a rogue legendary. So I guess she'll be neutral like Kael'thas is.
I love how this expansion is adherent to wc3 and wow lore.
Hmmmm. Perma stealth rings my alarm bells. How could this be exploited? Cold Blood could give it up to +8 attack, that leaves us with 14 in a single swing. Then there are neutral buff minions like Dark Iron Dwarf or Abusive Sergeant. On the upside it has no tag, so no magnetizing it or some such. And you would have to play Akama, kill it, draw the prime and get around enemy taunts first. All that said, it looks strong but not OP.
Only way to use Cold Blood on this card is to Silence it first. Ironbeak Owl just may see play once again.
That’s not how stealth work
The card says "permanently stealthed", it will remain stealthed after attack so the only way to buff it would be to silence it first. That is my understanding.
You can target your own stealthed minions.
Well, at least at 5 health it can be killed by some powerful AoE spells and spells which affect random enemy minions. But i my opinion it should have 4 health instead.
Its an interesting card, but rogue has never been lacking offensive stuff to play. Play Akama Prime and swipe your opponent's face for 6 every turn. But you'd need to first draw Akama Prime, play Akama Prime, and lastly, not die.
Unfortunately, control decks can usually get rid of minions like this, aggro decks will just not care, and midrange decks will probably kill you before you do them.
Still, there's plenty of ways to get more Akama Prime, assuming you'd even want to. Togwaggle's Scheme, Shadow of Death, Faceless Manipulator (yes only YOU get to copy him).
At very best, Shadow of Death + Stowaway = 3 Akama Prime on board
But really, much like Waxadred, not going to see play. Unfortunate.
O.O
Soooooo... Flare and similar cards doesn't work on him? Maybe Mass Dispel only.
It could be part of some miracle combo deck with tons of buffs.
Good question. I think Flare should work, but then the text should read "does not lose Stealth when attacking".
Permanent stealth--as featured on adventure runs like Dungeon Run or any of its derivatives--usually features prominently in an aggro-focused deck. That's because your opponent can't directly deal with your perma-stealthed minions, so they just target your face.
But if it's just one of your minions with this...
A couple different strategies come to mind. One is to make Akama your main damage dealer and back him up with support cards like the sapper guy that was revealed, clearing your enemy's obstacles out of the way. The other is to feature Akama in a more aggressive tempo deck where Akama is just one utility piece of a much more aggressive playstyle.
I suspect that, since most of the Galakrond package is sticking around, Akama will feature in those decklists as a finisher, not a central role. But the meta might slow down enough for an Akama-centric deck to come around.
Idk Man... It's cool, but also seems pretty uninteractable...
