I like it!
Great immediate effect. Possibly too fair.
hey guys we hall of famed spellbreaker so we could print this bootleg version and make it a legendary.
but really, I assume a dormant minion keeps all it's buffs/debuffs after going dormant? this is a decent tempo card. get a body, get rid of a thing until you're ahead on board and have attackers initiative to deal with it. Seems like something rogue would play.
could be good, could sit in your collection till it rotates, hard to evaluate.
i'm struggling to think of reasons you would want to use this on your own minion. two turns makes it really hard to time when you'd use it to protect one of your minions. you could use it on some of the "when this minion awakens" cards, but that seems incredibly slow.
Nice, now I can play Rogue without playing Rogue!
Also, I would like to know how this interacts with imprisoned Minions.

This can actually be used to set up some neat combos. Spend seven mana to set your Brann Bronzebeard dormant on turn 8, for instance, and on turn 10 you'll have a guaranteed double C'Thun. That's just the simplest example.
Otherwise, it's a great quasi-Spellbreaker. The upside can be very punishing for your opponent, but you need to know that you can commit to finishing them off before two turns are up. I like that interaction - for the dormant'd person, there's still hope, there's still a goal to fight for. It makes for tense moments.
Better call Thrall!
seems like an absurd tempo card
At worse, a two turn freeze could be valuable for un-removable immediate threat.
At best, I could see some very interesting combo emerging from Maiev Shadowsong.
Also, I like how many character will now be able to play with themselves ^^
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I assume that all imprisoned minions will take their effect if Maiev Shadowsong targets them.
For example; Imprisoned Antaen awakens, deals 10 damage split among all enemies you kill something with it and it stays alive then you target it with Maiev Shadowsong, after 2 turns, it deals 10 damage split among all enemies again. That's a slow effect but I just wanted to point it out.
Also, This makes "Awaken" a keyword. I prefer the word as bold in text rather than how it is right now if Maiev Shadowsong will interact cards like how i described above.

Yet another tool for aggro decks (and yes, I am looking at you demon hunters) to get past a big taunt. I am not sure, how I feel about it.
To be honest, I would like a spell or battlecry minion, that activates all dormant minions immediately.

The idea of using [Hearthstone Card (Maiev Shadowsong) Not Found] to protect key minions seems great...
-Watch your back.
-I always do.
Just a note: minions that go Dormant DO NOT retain buffs, enchantments or any of the sort. When the minion awakens, it is a base copy of the minion.
???
The only card I can compare it is Sap, this 4/3 minion can maybe help you forward to maintain your tempo or delaying. Sap just requires your opponent to spend mana again and can replay their battlecry.
I'd like to say that this card is fair, just a bit too strong itself, but I'm confident with saying that this card is fair. For example, playing Maiev Shadowsong for slowing down a big enemy is actually a downside for you if not planned well accordingly (No board clear or finishing the game fast means you're screwed pretty much it). 4 mana temporarily removal with a body is still too good anyways. This card seems versatile overall.
Sap on a stick except your opponent doesn't have to actually replay the thing which may or may not be a benefit (the fabled vanCleef counter, are you happy now?)
Will fit well in decks that don't have access to hard removal and need to stall for answers (mainly Druid, but possibly also Demon Hunter, ironically)
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Good card, dormant is sort of a combination of Stealth / Return to Hand / Silence. Might provide some good combinations.
Spellbreaker was a common so it wasn't expensive enough.. want a silence effect? now pay 1600 dust.
I'd have preferred a 3/2 for (3).
As it is, for Wild purposes it is just a Combo card, to setup for later usage.
A very nice card that is flexible and powerful. I like legendaries like this where they are really useful to have, but you don't need to craft them to be able to play a deck.
I like how this card can be used in so many ways. You can protect a minion to set up for a combo, you can use it to bypass a taunt and get lethal, you can use it to remove any enchantments, or you can just use it to as a double freeze. This is definitely a card I will end up crafting.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Would Brann make the battlecry double to make it dormant for 4 turns? Or once its dormant, would the second battlecry fizzle?
Kind of funny that Illidan would run Maiev
I think the second Battlecry would just cancel out the first and it will only end up dormant for two turns. Think of it like doubling Keeper of Uldaman's Battlecry. It wouldn't make the minion a 6/6, but rather a 3/3 twice.

BOARD WIPE.... except for this guy...
Amazing card. I like how the effect of this card fits the lore of Maiev. The effect is similar to silence, but not the same, since it produces an immediate tempo swing.
I'm curious if it might be worth to use Maiev on an own minion to trigger it's dormant effect again, e.g., on Imprisoned Satyr.
Amazing card, probably the "new Zilliax" (as in, must include in every deck)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
From what I understand, since they have a when awakened Trigger on them, they should go off a second time AND be healed back to what there baseline is.

People, I've watched some Regis' videos yesterday and it was shown, that dormant minions actually KEEP their buffs. So, did the devs say somewhere, that dormant = silence, or was that an assumption made by the community?
18:13 18:47
If the latter is the case, then I can understand the community's initial misconception taking into consideration how dormant used to work in the past (1/1 The Darkness could turn into a 20/20, if the opponent drew 3 candles), but I guess the devs changed the dormant mechanic in favour for the new expansion.
Autocraft day 1 for anyone who doesn't get it in a pack
Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
If that's true, she could also be a way to remove Silence from a minion too. Say you have a Malygos in play and praying it sticks, doesn't get removed but gets Silenced. Use Maiev on your silenced Maly and just wait for him to come back online to pop off
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Interesting silence effect which it basically "Destroy a minion for 2 turns, then bring it back as the base minion (all buffs removes)"
Cool, but lets be honest, destroying the minion or normally silencing it would basically achieve the same thing, and those effects aren't tied to a legendary minion.
Could definitely work if you played it on your own dormant minions, but would the meta really be that slow?
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
feels like the battlecry can stir up some insane combo in wild..but in standard i don't see how this is good when there are a bunch of removal choices..
Removing a minion from play for 2 turns is a very long time. Even though it won't silence them, this card will be played in every single deck that doesn't have a strict restriction on it.
Weird card. But could make some combo decks possible, by protecting a small key minion,
Super strong card and we will see play in ALL deck. Can be used in aggression or to control, and can activate again dormant effect. Easy 5 star
Very versatile. Acts as a temporary assassinate without triggering a deathrattle. Can be used to set up win conditions too

Check my posts. The dormant creature retains buffs, so Maiev isn't a silence tech.
Certainly looks like one of the auto-crafts for this expansion. And pleeeeeease let there be a voice interaction between Illidan and Maiev!
THIS is what I am excited for. I think the potential for this is very intriguing!
A neutral sap, if you need one, here it is. Can be a super-Conceal if you want to do something stupid with your deck, but I would err on the proper use being about the same as sap but for classes without efficient silence/removal effects for aggro.
This post is discussing the wild format.
I can definitely see this card being ubiquitous: it has a universally-appealing effect that can be used in a wide variety of situations.
This is a card with a strong effect for a moderate cost.
easily allowing you to bypass those annoying minions that would either REALLY hurt you or just get in your way from doing damage.
My real question though is: Will Maiev have dialogue when Maiev is played?
Ah yes, the old phantom assassin. I don't have the chance to get the hero portrait, so i'm glad that this card looks promising and playable. Will get this one.
If Dormant cards are good, then this card will be a staple of the set.
I don't think that Dormant cards are particularly good, though. Certainly not reliably enough to justify putting it under for two more turns, unless for whatever reason the effect justifies the sacrifice.
But Maiev can also be used to nuke things, to eliminate taunts, to silence effects... Yeah, she's pretty flexible. You might see this in a lot of decks for that reason alone.
Locking away a minion for a few turns is usually pretty good, so I could see this seeing a lot of play
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
5 star card. The versatility is nuts. I expect this to be in most of the decks.
Every day I get convinced that this is really good. But way too overhyped. I think it will fall short for peoples expectations
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Possibly a must include in every midrage or control deck, as it's a great way to remove a target from play and still have decent stats on the board.
Another versatile card. Good both in aggro and control. Stronger than silence. 10 out of 10.
I never apologize… I’m sorry but that’s the way I am.
very nice neutral target removal SeemsGood
