Battle of the Bans returns as this week's Tavern Brawl!
- Choose four cards that you would like a deck created from.
- Your opponent gets to ban one of your four cards.
- A deck is automatically created using your remaining three cards. (10 of each card)
Interestingly, this is almost the third time we've seen this brawl. Last November the brawl made a return as a Brawliseum event but ended up being cancelled due to issues.
Comments
Innervate, Biology Project, Yogg-Saron, Hope's End and Deathwing
Libram Paladin is pretty fun (2x discount, Wisdom and Hope).
I made a new deck and this one is actually pretty strong:
This is just one of the best Brawl mechanics. Like a mini tournament.
ez clap
This is what I've been playing:
Lackeylock worked wonders for me:
Cable Rat, Sinister Deal, EVIL Genius, Erkh.
Opponent banned Erkh, but I won by Turn 6 anyways
Time to use good old Discolock. Soulfire, The Soularium, Silverware Golem, Fist of Jaraxxus. Or perhaps innovate with Hand of Gul'dan instead of Golem?
Always quick and easy with Mage in this type of brawls, today went with:
Sorcerer's Apprentice, Frostbolt, Primordial Glyph and Flamewaker
opponent banned the flamewaker but not matter, game was over by turn 4.
Having a blast with DH's Altruis, Twin Slice, chaos strike and crimson runner. Outcast cards are best here. Oponent bans either twin slice or altruis. When banning altruis you chop damage with your chaos steikes and crimson runners while drawing finishing combo of 2 damage per 0 mana card. If they decide to ban twin slice, you just start throwing altruises from turn 5
I really liked the Shaman deck that is getting attention, but I've had more fun going the Priest route with Lyra the Sunshard, Renew, Crystalline Oracle, and Mind Vision. The obvious choice for them is Lyra since they don't want you to generate an innumerable amount of spells... but the oracle and mind visions allows you to play their deck against them. Tack on Renew for other card discovery and healing and it's a control players playground.
Twin Slice, Battlefiend, Netherwalker, Satyr Overseer. My mage opponent banned Battlefiend, I saw Arcane Missiles, Sorcerer's Apprentice and Flamewalker and banned Arcane Missiles. It went poorly for him from there.
Sadly my two-week streak of my classic pack having a legendary (Millhouse and then Thalnos) came to an end, but the dust of 4 commons and a rare is never unwelcome.
Why oh why did they ruin a perfectly good brawl, by including stupid broken Wild cards. Every time they have one of these, we end up with Hunter mechs and Flamewankers. I've seen it a thousand now. Can we just have one of these in Standard format?
Wasn't "face roll" but it was Fun, went lock (mostly cause I wanted to play with Nemsy some), Curse of Rafaam, Gnomeferatu, Imprisoned Scrap Imp, and Chaos Gazer. As I said, not OP just fun, and makes it hard for your opponent to choose, I had one person Rope just deciding what to Ban. If I got to keep Imprisoned Scrap Imp, on turn 4 I would drop one a turn and they would have to deal with Ever growing Minions. Took me 3 matches to get my win, but I enjoyed everyone of them.
Went with Mage and it was pretty easy. Other player banned Sorcerer's Apprentice but by turn 8 I was going to town. May try again with Demon Hunter just for the XP..
Spell Mage did it for me at first try.
Disco lock works well, but thinking back to last time freeze mage ended up as the main deck type
I irritated a number of mages with a priest set up with Crystalline Oracle, Renew, Lyra the Sunshard, and Mind Vision. Imagine the horror in their face as they start to fight against healing AND Evocation
My opponent was playing Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, Marin the Fox, Nefarian, and Shifting Scroll. So yeah, that was a pretty easy win. They also said "woops" for just about the entire game except for the turn before they died when they said "greetings".
Some people are just plain weird.
He is just waiting until his mmr will drop so low that he can actually play a card... But i mean scroll ban is so easy...
