Why didn't they use the overkill keyword like on Blast Wave?
Because its not overkill? You can kill a 3/3 minion with this and get the effect. with blastwave you had to kill a minion with 1 health remaining (because 2 dmg blast wave on 1 health is an overkill)
Certainly not Demon Hunter's most powerful AOE tool, but the tempo swing could be incredible, and I'm glad to see Demon Hunter getting something on top of Chaos Nova and Immolation Aura - having all that AOE should make an earnest Control variant possible.
Flamestrike powercreep. Yeesh.
Really powerful late game AoE that helps Illidan with regaining tempo, while not having to sacrifice health. This is a necessary card is control DH is ever going to be a thing.

Does this card replace your opponent's minion that died by 3/3 for him, just like poison seed works?
Could even run this with Mo'arg Artificer, double the AOE

Unless the archerype it's specifically big demon where it can ruin synergies, Mo'arg it's a good card to play in a control DH because the class has a couple of lifesteal spells as well
Turns out this card has been very clunky, in my experiments.
Obvious comparison is Flamestrike, but this is better in most use cases. The biggest problem with large board clears is that you have no or little mana to develop your board after you played them. When you are already behind this often means that you buy a turn but continue to loose. With this card you can not only wipe the board but also build up a board presence at the same time, which is prefarable in most use cases to the +1 damage of Flamestrike. An additional benefit is that you can set up a board state with your minions and basically transform them in 3/3s after you traded for example. So the fact that it also hits your minions compard to Flamestrike is not neccessarily a disadvantage.
Its a board clear that also swings tempo providing that you can set it up.
Very strong, and from my own experience playing control dhunters, this can find a place easily there.
But outside of that? Not really. It can't fit in big dhunters, nor in tempo, but since tempo already plays 2x Vulpera Scoundrel, this can be a choice discover.
Maybe control DH will be pushed this expansion?

Huge card.
DH already has a series of Control tools, and this one provides a swing for lategame.
3 for (7) is not much, but large boards don't easily go beyond that.
Oh, hey, it's a good DH Card! Haven't seen one of those in a while.
Looks like a Flamestrike, but even more swingey. Maybe even similar to Soul Mirror.
It's more like a Hellfire + Greater Emerald Spellstone on drugs, but 2 mana cheaper, without a drawback and a lot easier to use it.
It's probably too early to say this, but maybe Spell Damage will be a thing this expansion. Also: Why isn't this a dual class card?
