Totally looking forward to seeing this card in pirate warrior at some point. I guess this is the reason to play that new minion that copies rush minions, adds a lot of extra damage to your weapon.
Loving the art for the card though, even if I know I’ll hate playing against it
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
Really, i can't help but compare it to Greenskin. It does the same (potentially more than once, but unlikely) and it's more proactive.
I guess this is just one way to get his effect on a more playable card?
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
This makes Playmaker playable, because warriors like their weapons big and sturdy.
Would be better than greenskin were it not for pirate synergies. Still, this is likely to make it into midrange pirate warrior just because of the power of combining upgrade with a rush minion. The only downside is that you don't get the buff if your opponent has no minions.
Probably sees play in warrior, but I don't think that any rogue deck really uses this other than slower kingsbane decks, which aren't great by virtue of being slow rogue decks.
This post is discussing the wild format.
I'm not hyped, but I am playing Captain Greenskin from time to time. Right now it's in my Bomb Warrior deck. While this card is surely better because it has an immediate impact and the potential to get more than one buff out of it, it doesn't curve well with Wrenchcalibur. You could wait a turn and combo it with Playmaker, but I'm not convinced this is reliable enough to be worth adding those in that deck. nevermind, I can't read.
So it's a solid card for now, but we'll probably have to wait and see if there are more Weapons to show up before we can evaluate it correctly.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

I think, this one will find a spot in some constructed decks in standard. It's a proactive Greenskin and who doesn't like big weapons with sweet effects :).

EU Legend: S52 (ZooHeal Lock); S76 (Highlander Hunter);
Its captain [Hearthstone Card (greenskin) Not Found], but with some upsides. It has rush, can trigger multiple times (assuming it survives), and can be copied for a double trigger, crucial things greenskin can't do.
But if your opponent's control, then this 50% of the time doesn't do anything. So greenskin still has a slight niche.
Good enough card, but I won't be rushing to craft it as long as greenskin still exist.
Being on par with a classic legendary that sees play in 1 deck per year isn't a good thing.
But hey, that deck is currently a good one!
Also when <=> whenever?
very powerful combo ... Ooze and H.Jones have to be included as much as possible to counter him
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Great with Playmaker and Steeldancer. Warrior used to love playing Darius Crowley as removal/board presence, and this is arguably a better Darius Crowley. Sure it might have less survivability, but Darius Crowley also gets removed pretty much right away, so i still think +1/+1 for a weapon > +2/+2 stats (-health for trading). And it also works kinda like Captain Greenskin So i guess you dont NEED to run the pirate package to get a similar effect regularly. But it might also get runned ALONGSIDE Captain Greenskin in order to buff your weapons even more.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I get your comparison with Crowley, but it is kinda a faulty one. Crowley was good because of the extra stats he got from the trades, so it kept being a constant threat and also harder to remove than this after it attacks. That isnt to say that Krastinov isnt a great card, but you wouldnt run it for the same reason as Crowley. They can end up being used in a similar way sometimes, but you wont just drop this whenever.

Captain Greenskin seems like an obvious comparison. They are both 5 mana, they both give your weapon +1/+1, and they are both only used by Warriors and Rogues. The only real difference is that this guy has rush which makes him 200 times better.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
5/5 card, works well in almost any deck with weapons. As other dual cards, seems more of a warrior card than a rogue card.
This looks promising - and with that i mean strong!
I guess Weapon Removal needs to be teched in the upcoming meta :)
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Hmm, looks like a lot of weapon synergy for rogue/warrior. I wonder what new weapons they will give us to use with it.

A Captain Greenskin without the tribe and -1 attack, but with rush so I’d say it’s an upgrade. Combo with Playmaker with a good weapon equipped to make your opponent cry.
It's simply a better Captain Greenskin, which sees on and off play. This card will basically replace him there.
Better greenskin except it doesn't have the pirate tag.. so if you don't care about that pirate tag it's that.. also goes well with all the new expansion dual class cards so far.
I like it. Decent effect, definitely playable.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
A rush minion that has an effect when it attacks and not just kills something is a strong rush minion.
Comparing it to Darius Crowley that has the same base stat line for cost, this minion seems stronger because it doesn't have the caveat of "attacking and killing and enemy minion". Doctor Krastinov JUST needs to attack for the effect to go off.
We've already seen two minions with synergies with this legendary - Steel dancer and Playmaker - both summon minions either based on your weapons attack or summons copies of rush minions.
for it's effect there's players debating whether this is better or worse than Capt. Greenskin, both that the same cost, Greenskin is slightly more aggressively statted but only has a battlecry that can be activated once. Due to Krastinov's aggressive nature and weak health line he'll also most likely only go off once without some assistance - there's possibly a deck that would have you run both minions, but not if it's in a dedicated aggro pirate deck that's been popular since AoO - Krastinov will most likely shine in a deck that focuses on gaining value with Hack the System or Armored Goon than just simple rush down playstyle.
Krastinov also shines with cards from the Rastakhan's Rumble set, spirit of the Rhino and Akali, the Rhino, that will make him either immune or give him a +5/+5 buff to increase weapon attack and durability gain
I think tempo warrior will still exist in some form because it has a sick core of cards and I think this goes in with it. It's just a better greenskin. Greenskin is better when your opponent doesn't have a board at all but that's kind of a win on it's own. 4/4 with rush has very little chance of sticking but the fact that it gets more value if it's not is strong.
Warrior is playing it. Not sure about Rogue, they'd have to get a really good weapon for this to be worth playing.
good card.
Will be very good in Bomb Warrior to boost your Wrenchcalibur, don't see it being played in Rogue.
This seems pretty meh for Rogue, but crazy good in Warrior. Corsair Cache tutors weapons you want already and even gives them the durability to still be in play on turn 5, assuming you play the weapon on turn 3 and attack each turn. Wrechcaliber, Livewire Lance, and Ancharr do really well with added durability, but Rogue weapons that have seen play have had Deathrattles, such as Wagle Pick, which this sort of anti-synergizes with. That said, the aggressive power this card provides could let it see play in tempo Rogue lists. It's 100% in aggressive Warrior decks though.
Doctor Krastinov seems fine. There are probably cases where this is better than playing Captain Greenskin, but not being a pirate could be a downside for synergy cards. Ultimately not a super compelling card.
Any weaponry can benefit from a good tempo play - I like this a lot
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
A niche legendary, but get the job done with potential snowball so it's a yes.
It's more conditional than Greenskin. If the enemys (likely in Priest or Mage) has no board on T5, then you won't get your weapon buffed. This card can be better than Greenskin, but it's unlikely and most of the time it is like Greenskin with the upside that he has rush.
Oh yeah.. that's a thing too but 90% of the time people play something on turn 5
An alternative card to Captain Greenskin. Doctor Krastinov is pro-active and can be used in combo with Playmaker; Captain Greenskin instead have Pirate Tag that ensure him to be draw from [Hearthstone Card (Ancharr) Not Found].
Both card are valid....so depend from the deck
All of this weapon stuff is starting to make me worry...
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
Really like it!
Not sold on it, but a good concept
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
It's ok in Rogue, but it's insane with some of Warrior weapons.
Some Windfury will be nice.
Otherwise I can see Thief Rogue using this to buff
I wonder if you wouldn't play both this card and Captain Greenskin. It would increase the consistency of your deck.
Really strong for Warrior. Never see play in Rogue.
"My winged children fill the skies."
"A hundred kings will rise again!"
"Who knows what secrets we'll uncover?"
"The stars align!"
"The stars align!"
Good for smork decks i guess, can help you clear while giving you extra stats on your weapon, stats bellow what i expected of a 5 cost
All hail the banshee queen.
I initially thought this was pretty average, but I've sat on this for a little and think this is pretty strong.
Anytime I see pros put cards in refined archetypes for wild (Odd Rogue), it makes me re-evaluate my thoughts.
This is more versatile than Captain Greenskin, so I see why it will likely take his spot.
Such a powerful card. Might bring back the ooze meta.
Rush+weapon buff.
Tempo decks doesn't need more.
By The Holy Light!
Buffed Captain Greenskin
Reusable Captain Greenskin. Toss a Ancharrr, Livewire Lance or that bomb-on-a-stick thing and you got a deal. More Warrior then Rogue too me, but very nice still.
I would like this to stick around and see play, but not sure on the likelihood of it surviving to get more than one attack off.
These weapon-buffing cards have primarily seen play in aggressive decks as a way to apply more pressure with their weapons. This is strikingly similar to Captain Greenskin, so I imagine any deck considering him will also consider Doctor Krastinov. Warrior has some great weapons in standard in already runs Greenskin in Pirate Warrior, so Krostinov seems like a perfect fit there. I think Rogue has a tougher time running Krastinov since they don't have a weapon as consistently equipped as Warrior, but that could easily change with new Rogue weapons in later expansions.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Nice value, better than Greenskin
-=alfi=-
At the moment most useful on Warriors decks than on Rogue one. Rogue is better with early weapons and Warrior with expensive one. Insane value with Kingsbane but at least on standard will not be metadefining for Valeera
Xbox gamertag - Psymonjet
Very good for weapon synergies very present on this set
Regardless of strength and if he's meta or not, this is possibly my favorite card of the set! Aside from Soul Fragment cards!
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
This will support some of the weapon effect cards, especially in rogue.
This is one of those cards people will keep going back to when a new expansion releases with broken weapons. Solid card.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
A decent card, it might see play. The art is great, too!
Probably better than Captain Greenskin in most decks. Obviously great that you get an immediate proc of the effect the turn you play it. Will see play for sure.
Welcome to the site!
I already try :-). Greenskin and Krustinov.
