Odd Questline Hunter is about to lose it's highest winrate card Rapid Fire. This deck was already running jank tradeable cards. When more support cards get printed the deck might totally return, but for now it will drop down a few tiers and be unrelevant for awhile. As long as Defend the Dwarven District remains unchanged, it is only a matter of time before this archetype shines again, but hopefully not too soon™.
Because Questline Hunter got nearly gutted. Rapid Fire was the best card in the entire deck. Now it costs double and it's even, so you either dont run it anymore in Odd Questline, or you try the non odd version which is significantly less burst, as the hero power only deals 2.
Any combo mage is gone, so all the slow controlish decks with no combo counter can crawl out of the pit. Mainly Big Priest who can handle warrior pretty well.
With Druid (mechathun and cthun), Shaman (shuddereock), and Warlock (even/giants/reno) we might get the first slow meta ever. These 3 classes were near the top before, now have no opposition from their biggest counters.
Odd Questline Hunter will go away, Ignite Mage will see less play, but Questline Pirate Warrior will stick around just as much. All Rogue archetypes lose power across the board. C'Thun Druid, Even/Mecha'Thun Warlock and Freeze Shudderwock Shaman will have less opposition and thus become more prevalent. Nothing changes for Paladin and Priest. Demon Hunter remains (almost) unplayable.
I don't think that's what they meant. They're saying they'll never buff cards in order to make the competitive for Wild. Unnerfing is another thing, that's just making sure a card that was nerfed specifically for Standard doesn't suffer in Wild forever despite not being a problem there
yeah the biggest gatekeep for Arena is the fact that it's a highly competitive format that requires a lot of specific knowledge to succeed in (even more than the regular meta) but there's no way to practice outside of spending gold or money.
It would also be a neat way for new players to occasionally get to play with new cards that they don't own yet.
They should just make Arena like Duels, and separate it into casual, entry fee free, and competitive, with entry fee and rewards.
It is a fun game mode to play around with, but Im not spending 150 gold on it just to get good enough and finally make past 3-3 and make my gold's worth.
It's important to remember that about 40% of the time, the card costs 6-mana, not 9-mana - "you can only play him if you have already won by surviving" isn't true.
According to HSReplays, the card has the highest "win-rate when drawn" in the deck - that's a far more reliable indication of the card's power level than "win-rate when played."
I don't think we can rule it out just yet - the asker was specifically talking about Lightforged Crusader, a card that is both already Wild only and has never been nerfed.
Saying they won't buff cards to make them competitive in Wild is not the same as saying they won't revert nerfs, imo.
At this point I really think they'd be better off scrapping away tournament mode and concentrate on something else. Hearthstone esport is at a low point in terms of viewers in its history, and even at its highest point nothing was done, so it being done now would probably not change much aside from making the UI look better when watching tournaments.
Of course with an actual tournament mode would open some new ideas, like having rewards for competing, or have bests of 3 with random people on the internet, but is it really all going to be worth it? Not to mention that its target audience would likely be composed of existing players, and with even something like duels having 3 minute queues, what makes anyone think queuing for tournaments wouldn't end up even worse?
Also, much as we all would love to see purchasable expansions, this is nearly always a non-starter, at least for standard. I would be interested to see if blizz would allow for us to buy entire rotated expansions. Because I'd do it, if it means I can get all the cards for say...40 bucks? The pack purchase in wild cannot be good enough for blizz to not do something like this.
I think I kind of agree on this one. It's pretty apparent that this treasure is gonna need nerfing out of the gate. I think they are hoping it's just fairly rare to synergize with some strategies. IMO it's just a better battle totem/totem of the dead since it does effectively the same thing but works for both battlecries and deathrattles...

In Regis' stream chat earlier today, Ates confirmed that he misunderstood what Regis meant. The stealth for Spymaster's Gambit is more than just a turn of stealth. Ates thought Regis meant permanent stealth like Akama Prime. It will have stealth as long as you don't attack with it.
Wild evolution after the nerf
I totally forgot about that nerf. Yeah, I have to agree with you.

Why would Questline Hunter go away in a meta where it beats the most popular deck and every control deck?

I am happy and expect to pilot Freeze Shudderwock Shaman to Legend again before the mini-set hits.

How satisfying is it to beat a Mozaki Mage with a bunch of extremely buff sheep? Very satisfying.

Does it really hurt your feeling when people make a joke about wild?? This has to be like the fourth time you have mentioned it
Wild evolution after the nerf
The meta will stay the same, minus ignite mage. If a deck couldn't beat ignite mage, it probably couldn't beat Quest Hunter or Pirate Warrior.

Why not make a tournament like League of Legends Clash system? Weekly, 8 players, 3 games and 4 decks, 1 ban, "loser braket" and some reward?
