  • So did the last patch kill Noxus aggro?

    Quote From Phaseshifter

I haven't face a single Nox aggro deck since. And I admit I stopped playing mine. You think they overnerfed it?

I assume you're talking about the champion-less Noxus + P&Z deck which had been dominating the meta for months.  Yes, I would say this patch finally pushed that specific deck below 50% winrate.  I don't know that that qualifies as "overnerfing"--decks rise and fall below that waterline all the time, and the fact that particular decklist is largely unchanged since 1.0 is a big red flag.  Really, I think this is just giving some other aggro decks like MF + Elusives and Discard some time to shine.

  • New Warlock Minion - Void Drinker

This is very close to Mountain Giant levels of threatening, though it comes out a turn later than the giant. Still, a great payoff for the Soul Fragment package in Warlock that can also be copied through Felosophy to continue pressuring your opponent.

  • New Warlock Minion - Shadowlight Scholar

This is Darkbomb but plus 1 mana for a 3/4 body. Great for contesting the board on turn 3 and potentially removing something or creating lethal in the mid-to-late game. You can probably get the battlecry effect pretty often on turn 3 considering Spirit Jailer and Soul Shear curve into this. A great payoff card for the Soul Fragment package in Warlock.

  • New Neutral Minion - Enchanted Cauldron

This isn't good to play on turn 3, and even if you trigger the spellburst with a high cost spell, the effect isn't consistent enough to provide any inherent synergy for any deck. A meme card if I ever saw one.

  • New Rogue & Warrior Minion - Doctor Krastinov

These weapon-buffing cards have primarily seen play in aggressive decks as a way to apply more pressure with their weapons. This is strikingly similar to Captain Greenskin, so I imagine any deck considering him will also consider Doctor Krastinov. Warrior has some great weapons in standard in already runs Greenskin in Pirate Warrior, so Krostinov seems like a perfect fit there. I think Rogue has a tougher time running Krastinov since they don't have a weapon as consistently equipped as Warrior, but that could easily change with new Rogue weapons in later expansions.

  • Midrange: Snowball Priest

Been loving this deck! A challenge to play, but with great payoffs when it works

  • New Neutral Minion - Pen Flinger

This isn't tempo-driven on turn 1 and the effect becomes more minuscule as the game goes on, even with the effect being potentially infinite. Pen Flinger isn't synergistic or impactful enough for any deck to run.

  • New Warlock Spell - School Spirits

A good AoE even if you don't run Soul Fragment synergy as it's Volcanic Potion with delayed healing. This is limited to slower Warlock decks due to Zoolock not wanting to destroy all of their minions, but those slower Warlock decks exist already. Overall, a very solid card, especially if you are running Soul Fragment synergies.

  • New Rogue Weapon - Self-Sharpening Sword

If you include a weapon (that attacks) in any class or deck, you want it to have an immediate effect as you are sacrificing tempo in playing a minion to play a weapon instead. Self-Sharpening Sword doesn't have enough attack or a board-influencing effect when it is played, so I don't see why any deck wants to run it.

  • New Rogue Spell - Plagiarize

I think this will mostly feel worse than Dirty Tricks as you'd rather have 2 cards from your deck that fit your game plan instead of cards that your opponent plays in which they control what they are and how many you get. This does work well with Bazaar Burglary and is probably the only deck this will be effective in.

  • Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Shaman/Mage Dual Class Cards

I appreciate reading you guys reviews and feedback, give extra perspective on cards and, sometimes, different interpretation.
To challenges one's reading is a pretty constructive exercise

  • New Rogue Spell - Secret Passage

1 mana draw 5 cards, nuff said. Granted, you do have to play those cards the turn you "draw" them, but you're most likely playing this in the midgame in a tempo archetype to search for finishing cards that you have the rest of your mana to spend on. Every Rogue will want to find a way to include this.

  • New Mage Spell - Cram Session

I think this card requires too much setup for the price of running it. Sure, with 1 spell damage Cram Session is a 1 mana cheaper Arcane Intellect, but when you combine the cost of Cram Session with the spell damage minion you play, is it actually cheaper? I would rather run AI for the consistent draw in a self-contained card.

  • New Paladin & Priest Spell - Gift of Luminance

Is this the card that finally pushes a more aggressive Priest into the spotlight, using their early game 'end of turn' buffers as the targets? Probably not, but I'll certainly mess around with it.

I very much doubt they will get a direct board clear. Lord Barov is about as good and gimmick as you would expect.

  • So did the last patch kill Noxus aggro?

Typically when I refer to midrange in Legends that is talking about the mana curve of a deck. So for example the old burn aggro or elusives didn't run creatures over 4 mana. Heckarim is six mana, so he is not an aggro card. This isn't mtg everything is creature or damage based to one extent or another it's just a question of how you get there. So yes every deck needs early drops, which is more in line with how hearthstone is played, unless you're playing another slow list and then open passing the first two rounds is fine.

    Quote From Ardin

Okay, I have left my personal thoughts on all of your cards in my other post.

Please, if anything sounds weird or rude - it is not meant to sound that way - I am not good at writting even in my language (which is not English, of course).

The expansion looks great so far and I would like to see more of what ideas you have in store.

And do not be a Blizzard and include some dwarves. :)

Thank you so much for your kind words and all the work you've put in that post! Sadly I don't have the time to adjust the cards and make more cards, but I'll make sure to come back to your post. So much great constructive criticism!

  • New Shaman/Mage Spell - Devolving Missiles

    I hate this card already.

Would Shaman run this in Wild over just Devolve? I don't know, but that is a seriously powerful effect for one man's, especially if it can hit a single target three times.

  • Lightning Bloom

The most likely possibility would be to rephrase the card as: "The next minion you play this turn costs (2) less. Overload: (2)". Credit for this idea goes to Kibler since his recommendation for the Innervate nerf was to make the extra mana only applicable to minions. This would prevent Druid from ramping into Overgrowth as well as the class's ability to chain into more spells.

I already hate Devolving Missiles so much...

  • Why does Fireside Gathering creation always result in 404 error for me?

    Staff

I have no personal experience of creating the events so I don't know what's going on, but you definitely don't have to have an established tavern to do it. Flux did a guide on how to create a private Fireside Gathering so if you haven't checked it out yet, you could try to look for some clues on what's the issue from there.

  • Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Mage/Rogue Dual Class Cards

Agreed! Potion of Illusion will be one of those cards where it will be most efficient in high-level, well thought out plays. Curious to see what becomes of it and I hope it'll fare better than Echo of Medivh.

  • New Warlock Minion - Archwitch Willow

This is a beautiful card that just makes me smile. I have no idea how often this will work out the way I'd want it to - I get the sense the (rigged) matchmaker will set me up against Priests and Warriors every time, just hoarding their Plague of Death or their Brawl until she makes an appearance. That being said, it will be satisfying pulling a Varian Wrynn style grand entrance with a Dread Infernal and a Pit Lord or something. Even more amusing in wild, with Doomguard and Mal'Ganis and others.

I'm pretty sure that if you combine her with Buffy and Xander and Giles, nothing will be able to stop her, and the Hellmouth will be closed.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Double Jump

    Bonkers gonna bonk.

    That card is insane.
