  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

If Emerald is right, then it has to be either Twilight Drake, or... Azure Drake? I mean... It was classic, now it HoF, but it WAS a classic card.

If not, I'm really lost, since they are the only Drakes and Emerald its the only... Emerald lol

  • Do You Copy? - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

These are two of my current ideas. For Blazing Suspect, he copies your Hero Power and gives it every effect it had. It can copy effects like Ice Walker and Spirit of the Dragonhawk, but that is probably a bit complcated and may push me towards the Crook.

    Quote From YourPrivateNightmare

I don'T get triple Glimpse Beyond when you barely even run any tokens that you would want to sacrifice at any point

It's worth playing anytime your opponent is getting a free kill, whether that be by a damage spell, or a frostbitten unit about to die in combat, or simply when you have to chump block for some reason.

This is the way Shadow Isles draws cards, and it's a lot better than not drawing cards.

  • Is Final Spark / Karma interactions intended?

Because it's currently the only burn spell in the game with Overwhelm, I don't think it's correct to say the interaction is wrong. It just proves that Overwhelm takes precedence over fizzle, that's all. It's not like the fizzle rules are written down anywhere. If they were written down, they might say, "If a spell's target no longer exists when it's time for the spell to resolve, the spell will fizzle unless it has Overwhelm, in which case it will affect the enemy Nexus if possible."

As long as any future Overwhelm burn spells behave the same, it's totally fine.

  • Elusive units still a problem - Relentless Persuit is too cheap

    Quote From FortyDust

I can see a case for making Relentless Pursuit a Slow spell, but the mana cost is fine as is.

For Elusives, they should just make it part of the keyword that Elusive units can block (and be blocked by) other Elusives only.

I considered that one too, but it does nerf some cards that are completely fine otherwise for no reason (such as The Empyrean, who is pretty expensive and would be completely pointless if he only ever acted as a mediocre beater, same goes for other stuff like Silverwing Vanguard, etc.) I'd rather keep it limited to the early-game elusives that promote aggressive strategies.

  • Tirion is Being Rotated from Hearthstone's Battlegrounds Early this Month

Expecting him to either return with a nerf or when the typeless pool changes.

  • More unclear wording

Yeah, if that is happening, it's definitely a bug because that is not at all what's written on the card.

If he's working as intended, the wording is absolutely wrong, not just unclear.

  • Hearthstone's Battlegrounds is Getting a Balance Update Later this Month

I don't think any particular strategy stands out as overpowered right now, there are however large power gaps between heroes.

I'd like to see Deathwing and Dancing Daryl nerfed as they are easy top4s (and often top2) with minimal effort.

On the other hand some heroes like Lord J and Patchwerk are just bad and it seems like Milhouse isn't just some hero people haven't figured out, but simply weak.

Finally i'd like to see Rafaam leave the BGs as i find him extremely unfun to play against.

  • Let's talk about Hecarim

    Quote From OldManSanns
    Quote From FortyDust

Regarding The Rekindler, I don't think it would be appropriate to nerf it unless you can come up with a couple of other decks where it's truly oppressive.

If Hecarim is pretty much the only time Rekindler is a problem, that points to the real problem being Hecarim. In fact, Rekindler could make a good canary in the coal mine for detecting troublesome Champions in general.

I've been trying desperately to dream up a way to combo Darius -> The Rekindler -> The Harrowing into a board full of 10 attack overwhelms, but I just can't do it.

Surely you can get at least two or three?

The problem with Hecarim is that you need only two to create a full board of attackers with extremely high Power.

For Darius, Dawn and Dusk is the more common way to close out a game.

  • Elusive units still a problem - Relentless Persuit is too cheap

    Quote From YourPrivateNightmare

Also agree on Relentless Pursuit. I'd say 5-mana would be acceptable. Rally is extremely underrated as an effect and most other cards with the same effect come with a huge cost or specific requirement (like Katarina or Garen)

I actually think Relentless Pursuit is about right in terms of its cost.

First, lets consider some comparisons: Shunpo is basically Relentless Pursuit + Mystic Shot, which adds up to their combined mana value and incurs a minor "bundling tax" (i.e. the spell is slow instead of fast, and targets are more restricted). If you adjust Relentless Pursuit up to 5, that math gets out of wack and you basically kill it in favor of Shunpo. (Yes, one is fast rather than slow, but I think there aren't a ton of cases where that will matter more than the chance to ping an enemy unit before combat.)

The other issue with dramatically increasing its cost is that Demacia really needs ways to leverage its advantage on board. Demacian "removal" tools mostly come in the form of unit buffs/combat tricks, so if they can't consistently push the attack and leverage a wide mid-sized board, they're basically dead in the water and relegated to a supporting role.

That second point really highlights the real issue here - it's too easy to drop a small Demacian support package into a deck that wants to attack (Hecarim resurrection decks, Elusive decks, etc.) and abuse the heck out of it. Instead, I would play a little more with what the effect of the card is.

Perhaps a better nerf would be to change the text to read "If you have a Demacian ally, Rally." This would leave it as a powerful tool for folks trying to make a Demacian deck work, but would limit the ease of abuse in other decks that only run it to make aggro shells OP.

  • Hearthstone's birthday is coming up in 2 days what are you most excited for ?

    Quote From Crusader2010

I'm most excited for another "year" when I won't be playing this game nor give blizzard my hard earned money for something that is not enjoyable nor worth my free time.

    :)

Fuck me, if commenting on game forums for games you claim to dislike is worthy of your "free time" I dread the think what else you do with it... LOL

  • More unclear wording

I actually think this is more likely to be a bug than wrong wording, but if this is true then something is definitely not right.

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

"Well, people are saying Dragons are okay, right? I have a early Kalecgos here, so it shouldn't be that bad. Maybe the meta's changed."

Daryl with his 20/20 Cobalts: "No."

Literally so triggered, I was about to pop off on Dragons after getting a golden Razorgore from Alex's hero power into Kalecgos. One more turn, but nope. Once again, dragons suck ASS. Even with god rolls you can still lose to basically anything. Oh, and the icing on the cake? I still lost MMR even though I hit the top 4. Like, does Blizzard hate me?

  • More unclear wording

I've been running a couple of copies of Unstable Voltician in my Lux/Heimerdinger deck, and he has an unintuitive interaction with 6+ cost spells. Specifically, while his text implies he is granted bonuses at the moment he is summoned, the reality is that he is granted an aura that activates whenever you cast your first 6+ cost spell.

Obviously this makes him a better card (play him on 5, play a 6 drop spell on 6 to buff him), so I can't really complain. However, just based on the wording, the behavior seems wrong, and the existing behavior would be entirely described by just dropping "when I'm summoned" bit.

    How about this one?

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

ArngrimUndying is even closer, Emerald Drake is right! If no one guesses it for a while he’ll get the win

  • Is Final Spark / Karma interactions intended?

I would argue that this interaction is definitely, but intentionally, wrong.

Typically, if a spell would kill a unit, any other spells that target that unit below it in the stack simply fizzle. In that way, the second Final Spark ought to just fizzle, as it no longer has a valid target.

That said, I think it's intentionally designed this way because:

    1. It's kind of consistent with the Overwhelm keyword's behavior (though I'd argue that's tenuous at best - Overwhelm on attack works because the original target is the Nexus, and it's notable that a spell that causes an Overwhelm unit to attack another unit doesn't cause Overwhelm damage)
    2. It makes Lux/Karma a compelling combo to play with, and ultimately the devs want people to explore lots of ways to combine champions and regions.
  • Do You Copy? - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Thank you for all the feedback on Sneaky Mimic.

I just had another idea of a direction I could take the deathrattle on it:

The deathrattle options I am debating:

    1. Add a copy of it to your hand that costs (1). - too overpowered
    2. Add a 1/1 copy of it to your hand that costs (1). - more balanced, but I feel 1/1 copy ruins a lot of potential in the card. For example, if you use this card to kill a Taunt minion, all you get in return is a 1/1 Taunt. It's effect is only powerful on Battlecry and Deathrattle minions.
    3. Add a copy of it to your hand that costs (2) less. - I'm thinking this might be a good middle ground between the 2. Not overly powerful (1) cost minions, but still a reduced cost minion that won't leave you with a potentially useless 1/1 token.

Any thoughts/opinions on these 3 deathrattle options?

    Pro

KANSAS: I prefer Ritual of Rejuvenation. It might be a bit too strong for the cost, since you're guaranteed to discover something good. I don't like double discovers so no Eaveadrop for me, Hellrat is too weak because of board space maximum and no offense, but the spider is boring.

Dermostatic: I like this better than the murloc. There's lots of potential in there, great idea! Maybe Shivershine can try out his Mage idea now?

Fedrion: The concept is cool, but I think the weapon should be equipped. Otherwise it's a 6 mana do nothing.

Thanks for the review, Dermostatic! Are there more opinions on which to choose and/or how to improve them?

Hey, today is a Tuesday.  We are about a month away from expansion time.. Announcement??? Fingers crossed!

  • Tirion is Being Rotated from Hearthstone's Battlegrounds Early this Month

Actually, the patch containing Tirion only came out at the end of January so, a little over a month.  The first time i had him offered to me was last weekend, and i didn't even take him so.  I mostly play standard tho.
