  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Anyone playing Rogue instantly understands it's Pharaoh Cat

  • The Pepper Thread - Share Some Good Vibes!

I already like Reno the master of Poof but it's a pity you have to wait until turn 10 to play him. By that time a lot of games are more or less decided and either you have a board (so will not play him immediately) or the opponent has one and then you probably will play him. Which means that on average, only half the time you will be playing him, and then only in games that last more than 10 turns. But its early days so who knows. I only put him in a reno deck which tends to spike late game, while maybe its better to use him in a more tempo/aggro deck as a last resort/reset when you have lost the initiative.

  • Legends of Runeterra - Top Decks for the Week

I appreciate all the coverage of Runeterra and I am enjoying the game.

I understand the need to showcase topdecks  but for players like me who are slowing building up their champion collections, it would be nice to see decks that require only 1 of each champion

I have been playing since the start of the beta and only have 16 of the 24 champions. And of those 16 I only have a second copy of 5 of them.

  • The use of barrier and some spells

-When you are blocking with a card that has a Barrier to one that has overwhelm, it should absorb ALL the damage and not just the part proportional to life I think it makes no sense since the Barrier what it does is just that, absorb the damage …

It makes sense because there's a lot of historical understanding that this is how it works across similar games. Take MTG, for example. When a creature has indestructible and blocks a creature with trample, the damage that goes through is whatever's above lethal on the creature, despite the fact that the creature will not die to that damage. Divine Shield in Hearthstone behaves in a similar way.

-If you use Grasp of the Undying against the barrier it is logical that the barrier disappears but it does not seem logical for the opponent to heal since he has not really absorbed anything.

This I agree with 100%. No damage is truly dealt, and the barrier doesn't have HP to drain from.

-Another thing that doesn't convince me is that you can kill a barrier card. I mean  with a ruination you can kill her since it is somehow a very expensive card and kill ''everthing'' but with a Culling Strike or Vengeance I think it shouldn't.The barrier is to protect a creature but if there are cards that skip that rule it loses the reason for its use.

This I don't find convincing. Barrier isn't immunity to death, it's a temporary immunity to damage. To go back to MTG, an indestructible creature can be reduced to 0 HP through non-damage effects (e.g. a -X/-X aura), and the result is still the same - the creature dies.

  • Demons in Hearthstone Battlegrounds are Being Nerfed this Week!

is it going to affect the arena rotation as well?

  • The use of barrier and some spells

    Quote From BlueSpark
the consensus seemed to be that Overwhelm rolls over Barrier completely, just like it does over 'placeholder blockers'.

It's wrong: Overwhelm acts just by a mathematic calculation, ignoring whatever happens to the blocking minion. So the Overwhelm attacker will just inflict the excess damage to the Nexus but is mitigated by the blocker's health (regardless of the condition of said minion).

  • Legends of Runeterra Will Not See Refunds When Cards Change

I would argue the majority of other CCGs offer refunds.

Both Mythgard and TES:Legends do refunds on nerfs.

Mythgard (still on open beta) gave back 100% craft dust value of the nerfed cards on decraft (like HS).

TES:L (in maintenance mode) went even further and gave decraft dust on each nerfed card, just for owning these cards, so you didn't even need to decraft them (if you did then they would be refunded as usual).

    edit: typos

  • Explain to me how blocking works again?

If a minion with Barrier block one with Overwhelm, the blocking's health is subtracted from the attacker's damage that still pass onto the Nexus. Barrier prevents the defending minion's death by negating the damage it should suffer.

Also if a spell with Drain targets a minion with Barrier, the protection is removed but there isn't any healing. In order to get an actual heal the spell must inflict damage.

I don't think that's the case. I recently lost a game because I thought it worked the way you are saying, but not all of the Overwhelm damage made it through.

Really? Such conflicting reports. I honestly have run into very few Overwhelm vs. Barrier scenarios in the actual game and take most of my knowledge from this forum instead. There's been a different thread discussing this very interaction, and the consensus seemed to be that Overwhelm rolls over Barrier completely, just like it does over 'placeholder blockers'. If it indeed only absorbs a portion of the damage equal to the unit's health, I should consider myself lucky - that's the outcome I like the best (and find the most intuitive).

Kharma works out really well in anivia enlight rush decks.

I've played 2 or 3 Expedition runs with Anivia so far, but I believe I've never been offered either of the game's mana-ramp cards. So the viability of an "enlightened rush" deck seems questionable to me. Which isn't to say that Anivia decks don't work at all - it had a decent amount of success with mine.

In the same vein, I don't quite get the point of the Freljord card bucket that's supposed to let you clone your units for extra benefits - I'm consistently getting offered Iceborn Legacy, but no cards that actually help me get more copies of individual units.

Damn, boss fight against Rafaam is tought. He started to buff his minions, invoking new ones and crush me with more than 60 attack on board. 3 times in a row I ended the same way :(

Could it be as simple as Plague of Murlocs? Random, murloc, 3 mana. I don't see how it fits the other clues, though :/

  • Gunslingers of Westfall

Well sir, you've just made the upcoming, April set a disappointment :)The flavour on this one is just god tier. Blizz pls, print it! :)

  • The use of barrier and some spells

It seems they just want drain to work that way. It deals 3 damage. And also has the effect of healing your nexus for 3. They do not depend on each other.

If I hit a 1/1 with grasp, my nexus heals for 3.

I think a kill card should hit through barrier, we don't need circles of protection.

I agree with your point on overwhelm.

I try to avoid Champions that need a lot of support -- unless I know that specific kind of support is frequently offered in the buckets for that region.

For example, even though Fiora absolutely requires support, you know Demacia will offer you plenty of combat buffs.

On the other hand, you would have a hard time convincing me to pick Shen, as Barrier is not super easy to come by.

I found when I picked shen/fiora I had access to a massive amount of barriers. But that was the one time the champ pool worked out that way for me.

Greenland duo is the main strength of elusives imo. And more and more people know not to let that card stay on the field for any length of time.

Personally I would recommend pairing ionia with champs offered that you want to play with. Zed grants a lot of early/mid game presence. Kharma works out really well in anivia enlight rush decks. Yasuo pairs well with kat in a stun/recall deck. The problem is the RNG of the champ pool itself I find, but either way its fun, and if you don't have the perfect deck, chances are the other guy doesn't either.

And I would second the consider every trade carefully. Some of those are just bad.

first time playing the Reno hero card, went up against a mech paladin. He had the perfect start, perfect curve and i was barely holding on by freezing his big mechs, but then i played The Amazing Reno and POOF gone were his big mechs, and he was left with a empty hand, no mechs and he couldn't even use kanghor's to ressurect them. Won the game afterwards easely. Reno hero power didn't do anything, but hey that allowed me to finish up with Dragonqueen Alexstrasza. Loving the new Reno hero already!

Does anybody know why event on EU ended earlier than on NA? Today on NA account I got event daily quest, but on EU just normal 50 gold one.

  • The Pepper Thread - Share Some Good Vibes!

So yesterday played first games with Reno the Poofmaster (may the poof be with you). First time I got to play him cleared board, next turn first spell...resurrect all my mechs...which happened to be 3 of them, one of them a magnetized Zilliax Clockwork Automaton! Amazing. Won that game. Easy.

Before that, in the adventure, when you have Reno and he duplicates all spells you do, I played a puzzle box...that was not a good idea. 10 random spells twice...that was some spellfest.

  • Dissapointing difficulty

    Quote From dapperdog

you mean in story mode right?

Is heroic too easy? I haven't had the chance to try. From some posts up earlier, I understand there's some frustrating difficulty in heroic mode on the last wing.

I mean wings 1~3 they were a beeeze most of them didn't even require a specific deck or were remotely unfair.

The last wing is in the right level for heroics, except the paladin friends who were on the easier side due to just being a slightly stronger odd paladin. ish. at least they had boss cards.. this adventure has a severe lack of boss cards..

Ok the last wing is actually in the right level (except the paladin ones I beat them with odd paladin)

Too bad the rest of the wings were too easy.. and it wasn't that hard to make them harder (as suggested)
