  • Galakrond's Awakening : Heroic Guide

Week 4 : 3 new bosses on each side, as well as 2 alternate ending ; both involving Galakrond!
Things are getting a little spicier for the final - but not the least - chapter's of Galakrond's Awakening.
Stay tune for some decklist, once I have accomplished it myself ; halfway there!

So far, on the EVIL side, Karl & Georges were easily defeated with Rez Priest.
Reno, not so easily, defeated as well using the same strategy.
And now trying some exodia's mage & Mecha'Thun lock for Galakrond

Time works differently when you're deep in the coding world like Flux. (Fixed.)

  • Lunar Festival Quest Stats

    Hey folks

Always seemed like 60/60 quests were offered far more than 4 out of 8 last time we had this festival, so I decided to record the quest distribution I was offered this time.

Played on 3 regions and had a few extra quests due to having a non-empty quest log when event started.

Always rerolled a 60/60 unless forced to clear a quest slot.

    Reminder of what was available:

    - 4 60/60     50%

    - 1 80/80     12.5%

    - 3 100/100       37.5%

    I was offered:

    - A total of 81 lunar quests

    - 51 60/60    63%

    - 8 80/80     9.9%

    - 22 100/100     27.2%

% is to 1 decimal place.

I also recorded what quests were taking up other slots (as these can't be offered) and also the quest I was rerolling from (also can't be offered).  I won't bore everyone with that level of detail, and this isn't a proper statistical analysis - though much of the time I had 1 or more 60/60s already in the quest log - on 3 separate occasions I rerolled into a 60/60 despite having 3 60/60 quests.  That's a 1/5 (20%).  Only twice did a 3 60/60 reroll result in a non 60/60 (I got 1 80/80 and 1 100/100).

Definitely came away feeling strong weighting in favor of 60/60s there like last year.  Especially as of course I didn't reroll 100/100 quests which skews average result upwards.

Not saying any of this is indicative of how anyone else did or what Team 5 set due to small sample size but I thought it was interesting.  All in all glad to get some extra dust!

    How did you do?

  • Legends of Runeterra - Weekly Recap Feb. 7

I can't play runeterra since my region is not on the list. Is there any option to change region to play like Hearthstone?

I don't have any success with Runeterra Support either. I don't know where else I can ask.

  • Floating Watcher is Moving to Tavern Tier 4 in a Server Patch this Thursday

Not that it matters but... it's February already :)

  • Reno in Drag

True! I like the nearly ringmaster look here, too, as Reno decks are always a bit of a three ring circus with all their variability.

Its a FUN fun deck, when you hit those streaks.  Some match ups are really bad, and some good ones, you can definitely lose due to a bad series of draws, but sometimes it wins really fast, and other times it wins on value or attrition, or both.  I have had the pleasure to get Deathwing, Dragonlord out on turn 5 off the scout, or turn 5/6 off the Utgarde Grapplesniper... those are the dream opens which CAN win against the tough matchups, too.

  • Reno in Drag

I was only thinking in terms of side burns and mustache for the Drag-Reno concept, hence the Mulan reference. I see you also had something similar - to some extend - in mind. Yours can also fit the ''dragon revelation'' theme ^^

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

Are people rating this article or the brawl itself ?

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

I also tend to agree, but like others have pointed out on previous thread - given a wild deckbuilding brawl - it limits those without extended collection or minimal deckbuilding aptitude. Its a hit or miss ; can't please everyone ! But if you ask me, with a brawl like this week, it would have been crazy interesting to see that meta unfold.

    Sure ... that's why it needed a nerf ... /s

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

Well, I got a Golden Illidan Stormrage in my Tavern Brawl pack. How's that?

  • The Galakrond's Awakening Hearthstone Adventure Week 4 Cards - Showdown in Dalaran is LIVE!

Since you're having such a bad time with this, have you considered not playing the singleplayer content? Just get your cards and go back to whatever you play.

  • MegaM0gwai's Avarosan Frost Midrange

    Yep. It's a good one!

  • Reno in Drag

If you are already using Emperor and Bright Eyed Scout, there is not really any other cost cheat card with a similar effect, especially at that price point. Naga Sea Witch would have been good before it got nerfed, but not now.

I would suggest Mountain Giant, because it will have a big (if different) impact at roughly the same drop point or even a little earlier.  In fact, that is probably the best one card sub recommendation for any card whose function you cant really simulate, given that you will always have trouble keeping a low card count in hand.  Of course, after the first Mountain Giant, a second sub recommendation would be Abyssal Summoner, for a similar reason regarding constant large hand size.

Alternatively, as this is basically a techless deck just trying to mid and late game smash, you could sub in any one tech card you feel is one of your favorites, preferably one that is a good draw/play card on turn 3 or 4.

  • Reminders: Lunar Festival is Going Away on February 12, Last Chance for Dragon Masters Bundle

It wouldn’t be too surprising for them to give us a golden chromatic egg. Awhile back (I think it might’ve been for the Halloween event a few years back?) they gave everyone a golden Witch’s Cauldron, and that’s another epic. They’ve done the same for one or two other epics as well

  • MegaM0gwai's Avarosan Frost Midrange

Crafted what I needed for this deck after I saw I had Katarina, Ashe, and Anivia, and I must say the deck is very fun. Frostbite is mean, and you just stunlock people to victory.

  • Galakronds Awakening Heroic week 1 mechathun warlock 100% WR

Thanks! This won it for me against Rafaam/Galakrond after a couple of tries. I didn’t have Soularium so I subbed in a Runic Egg

  • New Quest Paladin

good idea! there are probably 1-3 flex spots in the deck so you could maybe try replacing an Acolyte of Pain or Candletaker (since we can complete easily with Shotbot now).  In the games I was playing I didn't see too many giants or big Edwins but if you are then I could see how Subdue or even Shrink Ray would be decent

  • New Quest Paladin

Da Undatakah is a great value card! However it is just a little too slow in this meta. a turn 8 or 10 that doesn't impact your opponents board is tough to survive.  And this deck already generates so much value with Mechano-Egg and Mechanical Whelp and Kangor's Endless Army in the slower matchups that we don't need anymore value. Great suggestion tho!

  • Brawl of Gaudiness

This is an RNG fiesta.  Pretty much, you either get a crap deck with poor draw or an amazing deck that will make you say woah.

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

i think at some point it was mentioned that the random brawl decks were using the same system the autocomplete function in the deck builder does, which does take into account card synergies to some extent when generating a deck. So yeah, as of a few patches ago brawl decks have definitely gotten at least a bit more consistent than they used to

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

    Quote From Elfensilver

Very nice brawl, especially for budget players. Most games are fast, some ridiculous, and the RNG can favor both.

And then I got a Millhouse Manastorm in my pack.

I cant tell if the last line is supposed to be good or bad. =)

  • Best Fiora deck for the meta right now?

From what I see streamers play, it looks like most successful decks are Ionia + Damacia that never fully commit to Fiora's win condition and keep up pressure by just beating down via elusives--e.g.:

Biggest trick is remembering what burst options an opponent has (e.g., Stand Alone), as you don't get the opportunity to counter-play with your cards, even if they are burst too.

Here's an recent vid from Swim (granted, he loses Fiora pretty early) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSyN2Dub33U

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

Another random deck brawl, but in my opinion far from the worst. My games were swingy and interesting, the odds turned quickly. One of my opponents had two Zilliaxes and many mechs, well try to beat my Embiggen and triple Bonemares. In the end I managed to win with The Ancient One no less.

Maybe the decks aren't that random? I've got to check this, but me on my first match and my second opponent were Paladins, and both decks seemed mech-focused. And my Druid deck had too much high-cost minions for a ""random"" deck.
