Indeed it's not pointless. Moreover you get bonus xp for each run. Lesson learned !

  • Legends of Runeterra - Top Decks for the Week

This is actually much more complicated than you imply.  There are many champions that you would never include unless you build your deck around them (e.g., YasouBADCARDNAME, Ezreal) and some which you can use as well-statted followers that can drop into any compatible deck in a pinch (e.g., Kalista, Garen, Zed).  I'd recommend heading over to the forums and creating a thread, listing what you have and soliciting advice.

In the general: if you don't have much beyond the starting cards, you're probably looking at the following deck options:

    • SI / Noxus spiders featuring Elise
    • Ionia / Demacia elusives; no champs needed but you can through in Zed for fun
    • P&Z / Noxus discard featuring Jinx
    • Frejlord / Demacia control featuring Braum; you can include lots of 1-of's

As you pick up cards, you might be able to branch out into new archetypes: Dawnspeakers -> SI / Demacia spiders, Rhasa the Sunderer -> SI / anything control, etc.

Yup, each trial gives you xp right after you finish it, so you got the xp for 7 wins before you started 2nd trial. That being said, its not pointless to play out the 2nd trial, you get more xp and also you can just enjoy the game mode and try out some strategies you wouldnt otherwise. Only thing it costs is your time, which is important, so not playing it out can be a correct choice, just that it should be made with that in mind, not skip it cause someone said its pointless :)

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

Agree. Some people might find this fun, but for me there is absolutely 0 fun in these type of brawls.

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

Another bad brawl due to the RNG. In the first couple of turns 1 player gets way ahead and the other players has poop cards. Get the pack and after that get the hell out of there.

Very nice brawl, especially for budget players. Most games are fast, some ridiculous, and the RNG can favor both.

And then I got a Millhouse Manastorm in my pack.

I haven't played HS for about a week now since I started Legends of Runeterra. I might check out the occasional Tavern Brawl, but not when they're almost 100% RNG. LoR is a lot of fun and very generous about free cards and free runs in the draft mode.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Absolutely is. Your go.

  • Experience gain from expeditions ?

Alright that would make sense, I probably didn't pay attention.  Thanks !

I’m pretty sure each Trial awards separate XP, and it is awarded right at the end of the trial. So, you probably got 2300XP tota

  • Experience gain from expeditions ?

    Hello,

I went on a Runeterra expedition with 7 wins on first run and I stopped with only 1 win during the second run (I read it was pointless to continue).

Somehow I only got 300XP  (I expected 2000XP for 7 wins) and then I got the capsule and shards.

What did I do wrong ? Was it a mistake to start the 2nd run ? Or did they lower the XP gain to 300 for 7 wins ?

    Feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks !

  • Brawl of Gaudiness

I won my second game by playing a 15 health Ozruk on turn 4, then the following turn I gave it Windfury and swapped it's attack and health via Crazed Alchemist. It was pretty funny.

Kindly Tavernkeeper can heal Nexus, i guess not that surprising, but i havent been picking it cause the wording didnt imply it, i didnt think Nexus would be considered "an ally", that makes the card much better.

  • New Quest Paladin

I always like at least 1 Subdue for big threats like Edwin VanCleef or Mountain Giant.

The only bad deathrattle would be from snip snap... I think its a great play on turn 10 if your opponents clear your board...

did you know that  if the egg get destroyed she doesnt come back ?

Yeah. I've never actually seen an Anivia egg get destroyed (neither my own nor my opponent's), but I've always assumed that's how she was designed. Hence my comment that she's "very hard to take out permanently" - your opponent either has to eliminate her in battle and then hit her with a damage spell, or they need to use 2 removal spells in the same turn. But making her fully indestructable surely would've been too much.

She only comes back if you have 10 Mana Crystals and it is not uncommon, that you cant afford to wait for that and need to play her on T7 or 8, then it can be removed more easilly. She is very good, but she is not all powerful.

  • I think my daily quest didnt count somehow ...

I have found that the "Attack with Piltover & Zaun'" quest does not count Heimerdinger's constructs or Scrap Scuttlers, even though they bear the P&Z symbol.

Perhaps this extends to non-collectable tokens from other regions as well?

  • The use of barrier and some spells

Just think of it this way:

Overwhelm and Drain both apply their their damage to the target before Barrier is even considered. Extra Overwhelm damage then pushes through, and Drain damage heals the user's nexus.

Only AFTER all of that does Barrier reduce to zero any damage that would have affected the unit.

I'm not saying this is good or bad; it's just an easy way to remember how it works. (And possibly to predict how Barrier will interact with other things.)

  • The use of barrier and some spells

    Quote From BlueSpark

I can see where you're coming from with your 3rd point; I could go either way on that one.

I could go either way on this one also. I'll try to explain my reasoning behind it.

    The wordings ingame:
Barrier - Negates the next damage the unit would take. Lasts one round.
Drain - Heal our Nexus for the amount of damage dealt

So, first impression of wordings alone, the Nexus should not heal because no damage was done.
But, taking a second look, the attacking unit/spell doesn't care about the defending unit, all it cares about is "swing it's sword" as hard as it can, so, as long as it hits the target, from the unit/spell perspective, the damage was dealt and so the Nexus heals.
Now, from the side of the defending unit with barrier, imagine a person with a big shield, the person did take the damage, but the shield was so strong that the person stayed alive with no bruises, and here we can read again the wording on Barrier - Negates the next damage the unit would take , the unit would take, the unit didn't take damage, but the damage was "swung" from the attacking unit/spell.

    Quote From meisterz39

This I don't find convincing. Barrier isn't immunity to death, it's a temporary immunity to damage. To go back to MTG, an indestructible creature can be reduced to 0 HP through non-damage effects (e.g. a -X/-X aura), and the result is still the same - the creature dies.

    And here is where Drain could actually make more sense, let's take the wordings again;
    from game:
Drain - Heal our Nexus for the amount of damage dealt
    from real life dictionary:
to Drain - to deprive of strength or vitality

Here, Drain could make more sense if Riot changed the wording from "damage" to "deprive HP" for example, and it would avoid confusions.
Let's take a 4/4 with barrier for example, we would Drain for 3, the unit would be a 4/1 and still keep it's barrier, altho, of course, if it was a 4/3, it would become a 4/0 and instantly die, despite having barrier.

It would have been nice to be able to build your own deck.

  • No Reno, Don't Wear That! This Week's Tavern Brawl is Brawl of Gaudiness

A brawl that might have been jolly good fun turned sour by randomness. As with every random brawl, I get absolute garbage while my foes get nothing but great plays. Now I'm not saying a build your own deck would have been better but it might have been slightly more enjoyable than rolling the dice.
