  • Chapter 4 & 5 of Tombs of Terror Unlock Today!

I think the final plague is reffering to the new cards that are added to standard.

quest druid will probably remain the best standard (and wild) deck for druid for a while

Well standard maybe, but surely not wild :P

Maybe Jade Druid or combo druid (choose you the combo you like most), but surely not quest. Sure you can play it, but wild is a different world and you would play it very different then standard....

Except wild Jade druid uses the quest (at least I saw not one without the quest) because it turns your Jade Idols into Summon a Jade golem and shuffle three copies of this into your deck.

  • I included that many secrets for the sake of redundancy with subject nine and the mysterious challengers, but i can agree to what you are saying.

This is just a theorycraft afterall.

  • RENOUNCE WARLOCK!(standard soonTM)

    Quote From MalcolmReynolds

do you think a copy of The Soularium would work well in here? The mana curve seems pretty cheap, and it would be useful for finding Renounce Darkness. I'd probably cut a copy of Impbalming because it makes it harder to get a Renounce Darkness and there really isn't an upside for shuffling in 3 random class cards into a deck full of random class cards.

Use it if you got it of course, but i was going for as cheap as i possibly could so more people could have the option to play it, the soularium is a great card for renounce warlock since you can draw 3 with it and then renounce.

Ok, who dropped their Bionicles in my Hearthstone? (not that I'm complaining)

  • The Darkness: is it worth it?

    Quote From RandomGuy

4 mana, do nothing doesn't really scream "Tempo/Burn hybrid" to me.

    Definitely.

In fact it'd be used as a tech card, mainly to avoid Reno Jackson.

In that case, while wasting Tempo, it negates healing, thus counting as Burn.

Really hoped for a  Headless Horseman event , but this is a nice consolation

  • The Darkness: is it worth it?

4 mana, do nothing doesn't really scream "Tempo/Burn hybrid" to me.

  • The Darkness: is it worth it?

This is the deck I am playing:

    https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/3765-grimm-face-hunter

    It's a Tempo/Burn kind of hybrid.

I can do fairly well against most meta decks, even top tiers, but I have problems with Reno decks.

It is possible I am just a bad player, and I am fairly bad at managing resources, but I doubt I can hold too much against lategame value.

My first solution was using Deathstalker Rexxar, but I found the card being quite marginal, and even against Reno, quite unreliable. Now, in my climb back to r5, I am seeing more Reno decks (together with a plethora of Mages).

So I was considering, should I craft The Darkness? How does the card perform in the meta?

I know it is historically, seen as a meme, but has anybody actually tried recently?

It wasted huge Tempo, but it also negates 20-29 healing from Reno Jackson, thus counting as Burn, in that context.

On paper, it could also be useful against cycle decks, such as Warlock (Paladin and Mage too, but their burn is the main problem there).

What do you think? Can you see better solutions, while staying in the same deck archetype (Even Hunter)?

  • Now you feel pain!

This makes not much sense because of Shadow Essence and if you resurrect Da Undatakah, he has no deathrattle.

  • Is the Quest bad for Druid?

I agree with OP that it's not OP. BUT, I hate the deck. The quest is literally non-interactive because there is nothing the other player can do to stop it. Either you play aggro and get so far ahead by turn 5 that the quest is not enough, or you (most likely) lose. I get that druid is beatable once the quest is complete, but I feel like when I do beat post-quest druid, it's only because he didn't get his card draw or big heals, not because of anything I did anything to disrupt his deck.

I feel like Blizzard keeps saying they disfavor non-interactive game play, yet they keep producing decks like Quest Druid, and people defend it because its a T2 deck with a good but not great win rate. I don't really care that it's beatable, I care that it's not fun to play against.

  • Rogue decks in Standard

    https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/decks/zachos-lackeyvendetta-rogue/

ZachO's list has been my favorite so far. I feel like Aggro Rogue just doesn't do enough without Raiding Party anymore. And it's clunky to fit in.
Jar Dealer is actually something I was playing in my Quest Rogue a month or so ago. It was surprisingly playable.

@Bystekhilcar (Tried making a good and detailed comment, but chrome crashed on me 2 times near the finish so I will have to rush it)

Gotta agree with you here too. Elise´s options just feel underwhelming in comparison with Finley and Reno, and although I was able to beat the first 2 plague lords with her, I had to really cheese it with the third one. She does have an easy infinite combo (with the moonfires and spell duplication), but it doesnt feel really fun to play. Defeated the third plague lord like that with her, because it didn´t feel that she was able to do so with my other options. (Even easier for me as I got the passive that summons a minon for each spell you cast. Was able to get the combo between turn 2 and 5 consistently.)

On the other side, Brann seems more in line with the first 2, so I really want to see him in action.

  • Chapter 4 & 5 of Tombs of Terror Unlock Today!

Elise is a bit tricky to make work because most of her treasures are pretty weak by themselves and you rely on passives and buckets.

Deathrattle works pretty well if you get the passive that gives DR minions Reborn. Spell damage is also not that bad, especially with the Moonfire Hero Power.

I basically beat the third chapter on heroic in one run by picking Phaoris Blade and just using the passive that gives you armor on minion death to stack it until I could just one shot the plague lord.

  • Chapter 4 & 5 of Tombs of Terror Unlock Today!

@Lemushki - Agreed, the final Monster Hunt encounter was a really fun fight. Time will tell.

Right now I'm a little irritated at the Adventure, simply because I steamrolled wins in Normal with Reno and Finley and was well progressed in Heroic clearing. Then Elise comes out and I struggle to even clear a wing with her. Really not a fan of her available options.

  • Rogue decks in Standard

There's actually two different variants of 'tempo' rogue right now and these seem to be the only competitive builds.

There's the aggressive one without the quest: https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/deck-library/rogue-decks/aggro-rogue/standard-aggro-rogue/

Which is serviceable as long as you can dodge warriors and druids.

And there's the quest, which still needs to prove itself but is showing some potential:

The thing about the quest is that you can play quest combo druid, or quest jade druid. The quest is very flexible and so can be used in most druid decks, and most druid decks are better with the inclusion of the quest.

I think the all the best druid decks (except for maybe token druid) will be using the quest in some way for the next couple of months at least.

Plague Lord of Flame, Year of the Dragon, reSummon that which was long Dead. Deathwing ?

Really wish I didn't have to wait until 1pm after my lunch break is over.

  • Rogue decks in Standard

Any suggestions of rogue decks that may be viable in Standard? Tempo Rogue is more or less the same as always, and I lack the Quest and Tess (and I'm NOT going to craft any card that generates random shit). I have been testing several Pogo Rogue combinations but with little success; next thing will be a deck with Questing Adventurer + Lackeys, it could be fun. Any other ideas? I have seen some interesting Deathrattle decks on stream, but I lack most of the legendaries needed.

Really excited for brann and the final wings. Hope this feels kinda like the final battle in monster hunt. I really liked how it played out with all the heroes combined.

If it ends up  being better. It would be a surprise for sure. But a welcomed one
