  • Wouldn't it be nice if....

This feature pretty much exists currently. It's called Whizbang the Wonderful.

It doesn't craft A card you want, you just play one of the premade decks

  • Rock, Paper, Scissors - An Arsenal, Wonderful Waters, and Crazy Combos

The content team is really doing awesome work! It's great to hear the positive feedback each time a new article gets published. Very impressive stuff. :)

  • Wouldn't it be nice if....

I'd be all for it IF players gained no stars on ladder nor the 10g per win every three games.

I don't believe in giving players advantages and little extras if they're basically going to cheaply buy their way into certain cards as a trial.

Just wanted to say I really appreciate how often this website is updated with new articles.

    Totally agree

  • Invasion of the Legion! (New Set, WIP)

Added stuff for the remaining classes, Priest and Shaman. Also, I haven't worked everyone's feedback in yet. I wanted to get concepts down for all nine classes before I double backed to older classes too much.

BUT, I had a big breakthrough today. My set didn't have a new Keyword, which is unusual. Nothing had come into my mind, but I considered a 'Burning' keyword, since this set is about the Burning Legion after all. I looked over the cards I had made and realized, my keyword was already in my set! I just hadn't noticed it yet. So here is the Burning Keyword.

The great part about this keyword, it greatly shrinks the text of 'At the end of your turn' cards. I already had lots of these cards in the set, making them into self sacrificing cards just increased the demonic flavor of the set. This is effectively the same effect as Imp Master

Here's a bunch of them, I'm not going to pust them into the main post yet, as I want to think this through more.

  • Golden Hero Portrait - Completionist & Grind

Just hit the ninth golden hero-Jaina. Arena was good to me, giving me 6 straight Jaina picks to knock out my last 30 wins.

  • Started using Holy Fire instead of [Hearthstone Card (shadow word:death) Not Found]. It's also got an interesting use case when your opponent is trying not to damage you. You can use it on your own face to advance your quest by 1/3, if you choose.

  • How long do you play your own decks for?

For the most part, all of my decks end up being heavier control decks, so whenever I see someone playing the value game I’ll usually manage to beat them. Pretty much the only decks I don’t bother trying to beat are things like Jade, Shudderwock, Big Priest, etc. stuff that will get really cheap big minions out or go infinite. Even if I win I won’t find them fun.

Think all my decks at the moment are ones I made. I try not to be too competitive with this game, since that kind of kills the fun. Most of what I make sticks to around rank 18, usually I’ll know if I made a deck with potential if it gets to 14 or below

  • Wouldn't it be nice if....

I think maybe a better way to do it would be to have a certain amount of cards they can test out per week or so. While the dust route would help out some people, there are plenty of people out there that don’t even really have the dust to be doing something like that (and 10 games doesn’t always give you the best indicator of how well a card would perform)

  • Card Balance Announcement Likely Coming this Week!

Priest has the highest winrate right now, even if no-one's talking about it, they are the most likely to get nerfed somehow. I think mage will get some minor nerfs and Warrior gets a major one.

  • How long do you play your own decks for?

as long as I enjoy them and they aren't terrible in the meta.

I played my own Discard Questlock during the last months of Rastakhans, but I dropped my Quest Hunter about a week into the expansion after it just couldn't compete with refined decks.

Right now I'M playing Handbuff Questlock and it's doing pretty well, but if the meta develops in a way where it just loses way too much I'll just stop

  • The Hearthstone Explorer's Bundle - 20 Standard Packs + 1 Uldum Legendary

1155 dust, 4 "new" cards (4 golden copies), plus hunter quest........

I think your mindset changes once you have a specific goal in mind. When you're building a home brew deck you have a good sense of how competitive/non-competitive it is or will be.

If the goal is to accomplish pulling off a crazy combo, winning games, meme people. Temper your expectations accordingly. And like other posters have said, tweak it to what you're seeing. The games will vastly change from 20-15, 15-10, 10-5, and 5-Legend. So make sure you're setting your deck up for success rather than not adjusting to the types of decks you're seeing.

    Hope that helps.

It does help, thanks! I think also bouncing between wild and standard means I've not yet properly grasped the respective metagames. Might be worth playing a few games with a random deck first before launching into crafting something new.

  • How long do you play your own decks for?

I play the hell out of my own decks ad nauseam.  I enjoy being able to craft my own stuff with a theme.  I know that most of my own creations get annihilated and I couldn't care less. I play the game to have fun.  I have no delusions of grandeur that I am going pro.  I play maybe an hour a day broken up throughout the day at best.

But I like being able to craft my own stuff.  Not going to lie, sometimes what I make is an offshoot of what someone else did.  I remember that I played against a Warrior deck that looked almost like a mirror deck.  I thought to myself, "How are they playing the exact same deck?"  But then I saw some tech that they used and I totally put it in my deck.  I really only play the "Net Decks" to get my rank up to 10 and call it good usually.

  • Wouldn't it be nice if....

I hope that tag line got your attention to open this thread.  I am wanted to see what other players feel about a sentiment that I have regarding Casual play vs Ranked.  I am very much a casual player, I think the highest rank I've ever attained was 7.  With that in mind, whenever a new set is released, there are a number of cards that I would love to try, but I do not want to commit to crafting.  Thus the title of this thread....

WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF... there was an option to be able to theory craft a card and play it in a deck to try it out and see if you want to craft the real thing.  Something like... TheoryCraft this card for 100 dust and it is good for 10 games.  After that, it disappears and you either say, "Well, that sucked.  Guess I'll try something else." or, "I am totally going to craft that Golden!"

What do you all think of this idea, or what WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF... ideas do you have?

Really interested to see how they are planning to approach balancing this meta out.

  • The Hearthstone Explorer's Bundle - 20 Standard Packs + 1 Uldum Legendary

    Certainly your lucky day!

  • The Hearthstone Explorer's Bundle - 20 Standard Packs + 1 Uldum Legendary

Hit multiple pity timers, and pretty happy about the quest (as I was considering crafting it soon.) One of the better hauls from a bundle that I have had.

  • How long do you play your own decks for?

    Quote From Pezman

Depends on how fun the deck is, or could possibly be. If you think it has real potential, keep at it, but definitely refine as you go in response to what you're facing. Sometimes I build some crazy OTK thing, and once I get it to go off a single time, I'm happy and delete it. Other types might have more staying power. Don't let your memes be dreams!

Yeah, maybe that's it - set a small goal like 'pull off a cool combo once' and stick to it. Thanks.

  • Pricing of Tomb of Terror

I enjoy the story aspect of the solo content, so it's what I look forwards to the most. I also don't spend any money because I save up gold, so I come out on top either way.

  • Card Balance Announcement Likely Coming this Week!

I agree with your point that the cost reduction mechanic as a whole needs to be streamlined and fixed overall so it can't be abused, but CC isn't as big an issue on it's own. If you build an entire deck around CC, you should be rewarded, and control decks that cant clear a minion wave via AOE aren't worth a top rating anyways. It truly is the ability to cheat out Mountain Giant so early that gives it potency, because the optimal winning line for Big Mage is cheating out giant and then hitting it with CC so you're facing multiple big threats as early as turn 5. Khadgar is a solid card, but unless used in combo with a cheat giant or something along that line, it certainly isn't game-breaking to use it on a 4-drop. I don't always agree with Kripp, but this time I believe he's right.

  • Emperor and Summoning Portal interaction

Think it might have to do with recent patch changes, but I can't remember when exactly.

One of the comments mentions it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/wildhearthstone/comments/c805d5/new_patch_nerfs_sn1psn4p_otk_warlock/

I believe the order of play matters here: because you play the Portal after Thaurissan's effect, then it takes precedence.
