Pretty sick card. I would imagine that Warlock probably needs 1 more Lackey generator for this to really be something.

Does anybody feel like Blizzard is trying to destroy Big Warlock decks and push Zoo? Warlock is and will always be my favourite class... And blizzard are ruining it... I hate zoo decks, they are soooooo lame. Anyone feeling the same?

Wft is "big warlock?" Plot Twist? Two decks can exist at the same time btw.

I meant like warlock decks with big minions like was cubelock and control warlock... the standard control warlock is shit rn

I think people are overrating this. In essence it's like a single-target Treespeaker, a card that doesn't really see play even in decks that consistently summon entire boards of treants. If you could reliably pull out a demon on turn 3/4 then this card would obviously be great, but I don't see that being very likely. Also, including this likely means cutting 1-drops which weakens the magic carpet engine.

    Decent card but probably overrated.

Remember, this is "add 3 random cards to your hand."  When have those been super strong?  You want to draw cards you actually and specifically put into your deck, not random cards.

    edit:

Also, keep in mind what other 3-drops this competes with and ask yourself how the hell this would fit into a Hunter deck (not listing the unplayed 3-drops):

    Nah.

First off, you aren't playing this in a deck that plays Master's Call, Nine Lives, Spider Bomb, or Ursatron.
    It's a Secret Hunter card.

Second, "add 3 random cards to your hand" have seen competitive play as recently as this expansion in Crystal Song Portal. But also Cabalist Tome.

It's worth noting that this card is (A) much cheaper than most "add 3 random cards" (B)  unconditional and (C) adding a specific set of different kinds of tools.

I agree with the people saying it looks good but probably isn't as great as it looks.   Reminds me of Revenge of the Wild which sees little play.  People thought it was bonkers when it was revealed.  Still, it looks like it will be a lot of fun and I'm sure we see it in the highlight reels.

I overrated Revenge of the Wild. However, this is a lot more simple to evaluate.

In all seriousness, if zoo becomes what it was back in GvG (a deck that takes the board aggressively but doesn't just jam a million minions face) I'll be really happy.

  • New Hunter Spell - Hunter's Pack

This is a common... It'll be bonkers in Arena.

Welp, now Secret Hunter has refill. That is going to be pretty scary.
And random Hunter beasts have low key gotten pretty good.

It'll be interesting to see if a Master's Call deck is preferable to this.

I think a Master's Call deck is still superior, just because what it draws are basically combo pieces like Springpaw, Timber Wolf, Hyena and Rhino. That said, almost all cards you get from Hunter's Pack are good for a Master's Call deck. Hell, even Starving Buzzard is decent. Maybe we'll have a Meta that calls for insane value and/or constant pressure mid-/lategame, where you would play both cards in the same deck? Probably not, but who knows.

I agree with it being good for Secret Hunter. Very good, indeed.

Hunter seems to be in that nice spot again, where it can play tons of different archetypes that are all close to or even top tier. Secrets, Mech, Master's Call (Aggro and Midrange) and Vereesa/Burn Hunter (not the Jeppeto version, that one's pretty garbage imo) is pretty close to being very good. Hunter will definitely be Tier 1 with one of these or even something else, its cards are way too good, the archetypes are very flexible and can easily be adjusted to a certain Meta.

Amazing card generation value, with two VERY big downsides:

    - Negative tempo

    - Does nothing against the no. 1 deck, Cyclone Mage

As such, I fear this card will be irrelevant in most situations. All it does is dilute the pool of useful spells for hunters.

  • New Hunter Spell - Hunter's Pack

Thank whatever Diety you worship that Team 5 are not pushing Mech Hunter so far this Expansion.

This is a good card. Three mana for three cards? Random yes, but Hunter Secrets are pretty good across the board, there are no bad Hunter Weapons at the moment in Standard (Wild is different ofc) and a random Beast for the synergy is pretty good too. Nice one.

    Healing is overrated?

Oh sure, i guess it's just a coincidence that any slow Warlock deck's success can be directly correlated with efficient healing being available.

You're going to tell me that Evenlock would have been just as successfull without Shroom Brewer, Spellstone and Bloodreaver Gul'dan?

Jaraxxus isn't too weak, the problem is there is no way to reliably get to him and play him without dying in the next few turns because, guess what, there's no good way of healing back up.

Health is a ressource and Warlock burns most of it via hero power and cards slike this and if they can't get it back somehow then they just get run over by direct damag.e It's always been this way and always will be.

There are plenty of win conditions for warlock atm, but they can't use any of them because they get slaughtered before they get there.

The difference here is that this card is 3 mana, rather than cards such as Devour Mind and Cabalist's Tome which cost nearly double the amount of mana. Plus the cards that you get are more specific and generally guaranteed to be more useful than, say, a Glacial Mysteries or Shatter when you have no other freeze cards.

I'm not saying the card is super broken, but the odds of it seeing play over other "add 3 random cards to your hand" spells is significantly higher.

And sadly, highlander hunter's weak point is not generating cards, it is endurance and healing. As far as I know (im not an expert of wow) in wow, hunters can use a melee weapon and able to become bruiser. I don't really know it is fair or not but i think that a little armor generating can be given to hunters in hearthstone. It is the only class in hearthstone with so less defensive package. Rogue's have lifesteal weapons, even mage's have armor generating + secrets + freeze,  warlock's have sacrifice. Secrets are Just not enough for hunter to be defensive, ı mean for control archetype. It always ended up as an aggressive deck base. Even secrrt hunter is an aggressive deck. Maybe something like Ice Barrier can be added to hunter, even playing dead should be A thing but not like Play Dead, A mechanic like Time Out! which the hero Enters a stasis mode to be pretended dead. It is a basic hunter mechanic in any game in the world.

Gladiator's Longbow is mechanically feels like really a ranged weapon, as much as Candleshot. It shouldn't be forgotten but must be balanced for aggro.

So, this card is ok, especially for my playstyle it looks so funny, but sadly this is not control hunter longs for. It needs some endurance, not generating more stuff. That's why Deathstalker Rexxar was/is/will be a must have card. Not Just for infinite value.

Fits right in with the class identity

I guess 3 mana draw 3 will be hunter's new identity.

Oh well. Good value as a standalone card. Even better when paired with Zul'jin.

  • New Warlock Minion - EVIL Recruiter

This card is really crazy. Lackeys are so easy to get already, and you’re just cannibalizing a 1/1 whose main power is in its Battlecry. May not come out on turn 3, but can function as a crazy swing card/win-more on basically any turn.

  • Uldum Hunter Card Reveal - Hunter's Pack

I swear I saw the exact same card on reddit. Both card name and effect are completely copied lmao.

  • Uldum Warlock Card Reveal - EVIL Recruiter

I really cant understand the convoluted math some ppl do. Turn 4 u play lackey 1 mana. U play this card to kill lackey 3 mana so u spent 4 in total and what are the stats u end up on the board? 3/3 and a 5/5. So u spent 4 mana for an 8/8 across two bodies. How is this wrong?

  • New Shaman Spell - Plague of Murlocs

Well, mages had their fun with big minions, now its time to get back to basics, which is spells, damage and tempo play :). Maybe conjurers need Counterspell now. Oh and also Murloc Warleader. Just in case. Just conjure your apprentice, hope for Underbelly Angler and let that Murloc Warleader carry the day! Btw if the Angler is part of the random generated stuff, mage or any other class will not be very upset with the change of board. But when followed by a lightning storm all will be dead probably.

But if shaman gets this, mage should get something like "change all minions into sheep". And some way to capitalize on those sheeps, for instance a spell like "plant a mine in a sheep. If hit by a spell it will explode and do 5 random damage. If the damage hits a sheep, that one will explode as well." Some living bomb effect would be cool :)

  • Uldum Hunter Card Reveal - Hunter's Pack

another 3 mana draw 3 cards for hunter, sure...

  • New Warlock Minion - EVIL Recruiter

Please not this again. I thought ppl on this website were better than on Hearthpwn as many ppl there are downvoting ppl that say its 8/8. In total u pay 4 mana and u get 9/9 minus the lackey u killed which ends up being 3/3+5/5= 8/8

  • Uldum Hunter Card Reveal - Hunter's Pack

A whip weapon is coming and i guess it synergize with beasts, A taming weapon most likely.

I mean, I hope in that way. :)

  • Jade Shudderwock Shaman, but it's a deck on an account I haven't played on since Karazham

I believe shaman's best anti aggro package is with two Corpsetaker, Zilliax and two Walking Fountain. It gives you good early game taunts with healing. And some late game healing and removal as well. Suggestion is to cut some of the removal like Lava Shock.

Otherwise, Sludge Belcher, Hot Spring Guardian and Rotten Applebaum are also good standalone taunts.

  • Uldum Hunter Card Reveal - Hunter's Pack

I mean...it's good value, but not only random but also...unnecessary...at least for now

Shimmerfly, Marked Shot and Master's Call is already enough card generation, especially with Zul'jin.

Maybe if Highlander Hunter somehow does become a thing it'll run this (by virtue of not having better option) but as of now I don#t see the point. It's like Violet Haze: not bad, but mostly pointless.

I do want to point out that there are currently basically no bad Hunter Weapons or secrets, only average ones.

  • New Hunter Spell - Hunter's Pack

This is probably only useful in the mid-range beast deck or the secret deck. But what card will it replace? Maybe in the secret deck you are flexible and you can switch something, but in the beast one I can not think of a card that you want to replace for this.
