Welcome, fellow achievement hunter.

Ever since the introduction of the rewards track, each expansion has always brought us a handful of achievements to complete in order to gain more rewards: while some of them are relatively easy to complete, some others may take some time or a proper set up. In case you're wondering what's the best way to gain all that sweet sweet XP locked behind March of the Lich King's achievements, do not fret, as we have the answer you're looking for!

In this guide we'll focus our attention on the March of the Lich King Mage achievements and provide at least one way to complete each of them so that you'll be able to get closer to the end of your reward track.

Disclaimer: as always, all expansion achievements can be completed in Ranked Standard, Ranked Wild, Arena, Casual & Heroic Duels and Classic - Casual Standard, Casual Wild and Tavern Brawl will not count towards your hunt! Moreover, we'll always take Ranked Standard as the default game format for our strategies: if we happen to have some strategies or particular interactions belonging to other modes to highlight, we'll be sure to specify it.

Here are all the achievements we're going to complete together:

  1. Take a Mana, Leave a Mana - Cast 200 spells for less than their original Cost as Mage.
  2. Quick Rommaths - Recast 15 spells with one Grand Magister Rommath.
  3. Arcane Bolt! Arcane Bolt! - Deal 100/200/300 damage with Arcane Bolt.

March of the Lich King Mage Achievements Overview

If we were to sum up Mage's achievement set, we'd say that it's relatively easy and mostly low cost: none of the 3 is particularly difficult to accomplish and only Quick Rommaths requires you to own an expensive card.

Moreover, we think that you'll complete Take a Mana, Leave a Mana and Arcane Bolt! Arcane Bolt! even if you're not actively trying to do so, since they don't ask you to go out of your way that much!

How to Complete the "Take a Mana, Leave a Mana" Mage Achievement

    • Requirement: Cast 200 spells for less than their original Cost as Mage.
    • Speed Rating: 3/5.
    • XP Points Rewarded: 200 XP
    • Related Achievements:

There are countless ways for you to complete this achievement: we'll feature two (one for each format) that we deem good enough for you to complete Take a Mana, Leave a Mana without losing your mind over it.

The first one is for Standard and revolves around a spell-heavy package with a focus on Arcane synergy: Magister's Apprentice is perfect for this achievement and you want to abuse it as much as you can.

For Wild, we propose again the same list we showcased pre-expansion's release, knowing full well that Incanter's Flow is great for our goal.

    • The only substitution you can consider is the new Vast Wisdom, but you'll be fine even if you play the deck as it is.
    • Wild format note: Secret Mage is an archetype that usually cheats out the Secrets for free: cards like Kirin Tor Mage, Anonymous Informant and Kabal Lackey will give you progression points, while also allowing you to win some games.

How to Complete the "Quick Rommaths" Mage Achievement

Very easy achievement, however, it requires you to own Grand Magister Rommath. In order for you to complete Quick Rommaths, you'll just have to fill your decks with cards that generate spells, which Rommath will recast later.

    • We suggest you to keep track of how many generated spells you've played: you don't want to accidentally play only 12-13 spells and not trigger the achievement.

How to Complete the "Arcane Bolt! Arcane Bolt!" Mage Achievement

    • Requirement: Deal 100/200/300 damage with Arcane Bolt.
    • Speed Rating: 4/5.
    • XP Points Rewarded: 100, 100 and 500 XP
    • Related Achievements:

There are two main ways to complete Arcane Bolt! Arcane Bolt!:

    • Play a good portion of the Arcane Bolt package in every Mage deck you play.
    • Try to have some luck with the OTK Arcane Mage build.

We personally advise you to go with the second one, as Vexallus and some Spell Damage will do wonders.

    • I personally completed Arcane Bolt! Arcane Bolt! with this deck and it was quite fun: I even won some games.
