This year looks to be the best ever with a new class, new rewards and all the cool cards they announced for the first expansion. I'm looking forward to try out as many as possible :-)

Here's my idea for this week. I have no clue about WoW lore and couldn't find a fitting character, so I made one up myself. If anyone could help me out on this part I would be very thankful, as well as for general feedback!

    Feedback time!

    Show Spoiler

Linkblade91: Even me who isn't into WoW at all gets the flavor of this card. Well done!

Demonxz95: It's a great idea, but maybe a bit too powerful. The stealth part makes it hard to counter and Rogue shouldn't have too much problems to reliably pull this off for 3 or more copies.

Hordaki: I'm glad you went with the Observer. It's an interesting card I'd have fun to try out. Well done!

hereharehere: I agree about this being too strong. The drawback isn't severe enough and there's just no way to play around it. Sadly I have no idea how to improve your card… sorry!

shaveyou: This fits Ashes of Outlands like a glove and it is really well balanced. Great job!

the powrofcheese: I prefer the priest card. It combines the thief archetype with the heal/buff concept which is a cool idea. The balance is hard on this one, but looks okay. Maybe 9 mana would be appropriate, too, so you couldn't just play this and hero power the stolen minion. I mean, at worst it's a removal on a stick.

Xarkkal: Now this looks nasty! Great flavor, great potential (especially in wild). Together with BasilAnguis‘ my favorite card so far!

CovenantKevlar: Cool idea, I can totally follow your train of thought about the art and the effect. I second the opinon to make it cheaper, though.

Nirast: I'm having difficulties grasping what you exactly mean. "Enchantments" make me think of buffs, but I guess you also mean permanent effects like poisonous or Divine Shield, don't you? And what happens if a minion has multiple of those?

BasilAnguis: Great art on both of them! I prefer the mage card. It's one of those cards that really make my fingers itch to try and exploit them. This could make Rhonin playable! Together with Xarkkal’s my favorite card so far!

Wailor: I go with the priest card. It looks really annoying, reminds me of Infiltrator. I’m not sure if it isn’t too strong and/or too cheap…

Dermostatic: Cool idea! I prefer the first alternative. The balance seems fine to me, since Plague Spells often need to be held for a few turns before they get useful.

Satanley: The first alternative is my favorite. Just as you pointed out, the versatility is really cool and it fits the class. Well done!

CaptainDG: Terror oft he woods looks better to me. It’s almost a build around, but there deathrattle is something Hunter is good at. I’m not sure about the beast restriction, though… what about cuting that part and tuning down the stats?

All in all, there already are lots of very impressive ideas this week!

My wish list contains Metamorphosis, Kayn Sunfury, Zixor, Apex Predator, Teron Gorefiend, Kargath Bladefist and Beastmaster Leoroxx in that order.

What made me really happy yesterday was that after reaping the HoF dust and disentchanting garbage rotating cards I ended up with 18.000 dust which is enough to get those legendaries and then some more for my wild collection (still lacking Umbra, Reno, Kazakus and many more). :-))

With the addition of the first new class since forever, it stands to reason that we will see A LOT of Demon Hunters running rampage on the ladder during the first days of Ashes of Outland. I will surely be part of this, but the predictability of the whole thing made me wonder if / how it could be exploited. Sadly, I haven't heard from @FearGralex and his Meta Breaker articles for quite a while now, so I tried my own hands at coming up with something countering Illidan (there's a lenghty guide with my train of thoughts included).

What do you think? Is Untapped Potential AND Embiggen in one deck too much? Will Warrior do better? Might Priest end up top dog because they outvalue everyone with buffs and heal? Let's have a look into those crystal balls and GET PREPARED!

I'm having a really hard time finding art for this week, so here's a rather boring first idea. I'll probably work out something else but would appreciate feedback nevertheless.

Yeah, with all the hype about the new rules, I initially missed two major catches:

    1) Golden copies count. I usually dust golden copies if I also get two regular copies. This won't be possible anymore until I got all the cards from that rarity and then get lucky to obtain another regular copy of a card I have a golden and a regular one of.

    2) Dusting gets dangerous. With the new rules you have to be even more careful with dusting because you can't just count on getting the card back from packs if you change your mind.

On the plus side, we seem to be safe disenchanting legendaries we don't want even before being finished opening all our packs.

    You guys are right.

A wait and see approach is best.

    Quote From MurlocAggroB

Besides, 0 mana destroy a bad 12/12 Legendary isn't much better than 2 mana destroy a bad 12/12 Legendary, which is what Shadow Word: Death is going to be. If you play a stat stick, it'll get hard removed. It's just that the 0 mana one is far more specific.

Though its too early to tell, I don't think Magtheridon is as bad as you say.

It's not a stats stick. I see it more as a combo board clear with a 12/12 body.

For example, on turn 8 you could run this with Hellfire which leaves you a 12/12 body after a board wipe.

Or turn 9, this with Crazed Netherwing will leave you a 5/5 and 12/12 after a board wipe.

I agree with you that the board wipe might be more important than the body in some cases, but the combo with Crazed Netherwing will result in the same board state as the one with Hellfire: Magtheridons battlecry destroys ALL minions.

What happens in the new system if you lose a game? Is the multiplyer working for stars granted AND lost? That would not make much sense, would it?

Ah, I see my mistake now. It makes no difference. The result of crafting additional golden copies is the same as already owning all the regulars. I'll show myself out.

Oh boy, now I'm getting confused. I have regular copies of all the rotating cards and crafted Velen, Leeroy and one copy of Mountain Giant and Spellbreaker golden before I went out of dust.

My assumption behind this was that

    1) We get compensated for the number of cards which fit in one deck. (1 Legendary, 2 of the rest)

    2) The compensation prioritizes golden cards, so if I have a golden Legendary and a regular one, I get refunded with 3.200 dust.

    3) The dusting rate after HoF hits is the regular one.

Result: I crafted a golden copy, get my expenses back when the HoF hits and then disenchant the golden copies for the dust of a free (regular) card of that rarity.

Have I gotten this all wrong or why do you advise people to do nothing if they own one regular Legendary or two regular copies of the other rarities? Please don't tell me assumption number 2 is wrong. If so, I could hit the emergency button by dusting a regular copy before HoF hits, couldn't I?

This looks great and has enough of the new cards to be exciting at the same time. Might end up my day 1 deck, too. Again, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! The deck just got Zixor, Apex Predator as a strong addition. So much so, it might actually be worth it to add Nine Lives to the deck. And while we're at it and surely will miss Zilliax a lot, why not go Khartut Defender for survival? I think the synergies between those three make a good package. Then, I suck at deckbuilding and leave it to you to judge my suggestions. I'll probably try your list anyway, since I was sorely tempted for the last few weeks but didn't want to craft the quest, Halazzi AND Flark.

Hmmmm. Perma stealth rings my alarm bells. How could this be exploited? Cold Blood could give it up to +8 attack, that leaves us with 14 in a single swing. Then there are neutral buff minions like Dark Iron Dwarf or Abusive Sergeant. On the upside it has no tag, so no magnetizing it or some such. And you would have to play Akama, kill it, draw the prime and get around enemy taunts first. All that said, it looks strong but not OP.
