  • Its either trash or completely overpowered. Negating fatigue damage is incredible. Supporting the least powerful archetype in warlock, not so much.

Because in what world does warlock actually does 21 damage to itself in standard, and not die is beyond me. The quest mercifully heals you back for a bit, but to do so much damage to yourself in the process, it would only work against control decks or decks that have no burn because chances are good you'll just end up putting yourself in range of death while completing this. Not to mention that outside of fatigue damage you've have wasted all your self damage cards at the end so what is the reward really going to do actually?

For this card to be consistently good, warlock would need lots of cards that deal damage to itself for both quest completion and to take advantage of the rewards, AND manage healing so they don't die as well. Outside of Neeru warlock I can't see it, and neeru already wins you the late game anyway.

  • Succinctly to the point actually.

Could've been great; her eyes could be glowing to show her sinister nature, partly transformed to show her heritage, or just straight out as a dragon. But blizz decided for the 'Coming out of a hair salon' look instead.

  • It'll probably see little to no play, and when it does see play its for the healing.

Against control a Mask of C'Thun seems powerful, but at the cost of 3 mana upfront and 5 turns of nothing, and any decent player would easily be able to play around it. The reason why Imprisoned Antaen was so powerful (when it was 5 mana) was because it came with a massive 10/6 body and followed up with Priestess of Fury for incredible tempo swing. This card costs less, but doesn't come with a tempo swing, and there's an even chance it would never even trigger before you get your arse kicked.

The 2/2 for 1 turn. That's decent. But then again, why'd you pick it is beyond me. There are better cards than a 3/3 and a 2/2 on 4.

But as a healing device this card is good. 3 turns to negate part of the damage that comes with a tempo loss on 3? That's still decent. Slow, but decent. I can see some applications for this card in rogue because of this, but I wouldn't count on this making any waves before or after the expansion releases.

  • Basically no weapon would be safe because this card is absolutely insane. Tradeable is already a busted keyword, and now you're pasting it on one of the most niche of counter cards available. So if its against a weaponless class, just draw another card for one mana. If its against shaman you keep it. The fact that it has decent stats too makes it bizarre that team5 would ever print it, because what drawback is there in this card? The only real problem is to find a spot for it in your deck.

  • Its bad. But that's not the point. If you put this in your deck the reason would be to draw a card for 1 mana and nothing else.

Tradeable cards are 4 stars almost by default its ridiculous.

  • There a good reason for everyone to want this card to be good: if you ever see it, that means you're not facing bs priest

Its tailor made for aggro priest to be a thing, since essentially you're transforming your priest to hunter at no cost except to play no healing spells. Hell you can legit make a deck with nothing but Raise Dead as the only spell and this card will still work. Just add a few more damaging shadow spells and woila you've just solve the priest equation - Make a tempo priest deck that's a priest, except its not priest, because it does absolutely nothing what a typical priest would do.

  • Tradable cards are incredibly interesting because that's basically providing every class with an optional draw engine. It might be possible to simply put it in your deck just to draw cards. For that reason at some point of time this mechanic will likely at some point prove way too powerful. Wonder what team5 have designed themselves into? Its either we don't see that many tradable cards introduced, or the cards with tradeable would be much too powerful to trade out.

Very interested to find out more about the questlines. And also to see what cards team5 may have designed just to slow the game down or otherwise no one would be playing the quests. Mage's quest looks very powerful, but very likely you'll just die to aggro before you ever get to take full advantage of it. It does concern me slightly that that mage quest fits too nicely into spell mage.

Well, we got the prerequisite reveals of the upcoming expansion. Please for the love of god blizz, show the reveals earlier this time and not cram everything into one week again.

  • Its just speculation on your part, which is fair. But if blizz would like to make money by monetizing one of the most iconic character in their games is also fair play to them. Like many others, I too would like that ragnaros skin for free (honestly, both Rexxar and Uther looks incredible sick, much more so than Malfurion) but you can't always expect nice things to be free.

Im more concerned on the price tag of the bundle, and whether I can afford it without busting my gut thanks to the incredible bs exchange rate.

  • Quote From JackJimson

I hope they don't cram too much the reveal season.

Looking at how the midset went, I wouldn't count on it.

I still remember how we more or less cram like 60-ish cards within a week for barrens on this website, with the full reveals made just 5 days before release.

Wonder who was it in Blizz that decided pushing all the reveals into one week was a good idea because I seriously can't see any benefits other than a pathetic attempt to keep the stones white hot when the expansion releases.

  • Probably 28-29th July.

The latest I would put it would be 4-5th August. Scholomance released on 6th Aug, but from Darkmoon onwards all releases (Barrens included) have been 1 week earlier than the usual pattern. So again, its probably 28th or 29th July.

  • Well, its going to be that time again.

One announcement, followed by 2 weeks of nothing before everything is vomited right out within a week.

  • It shouldn't really come as a surprise given that face hunter is basically the cheapest tier 1 deck, and I'm fairly certain this stats is based across all ranks rather than high levels, because the higher you go the less hunters you tend to face (at least for me)

Also, does my eyes deceive me or is Trampling Rhino and Kolkar Pack Runner not among one of the heads. Rhino in especially. I can't even imagine face hunter being a thing without it

  • At least it didn't end up as bad as Darius Crowley. If I never saw that full pic, it would seem like the cut was taken right before Darius fell after slipping on a banana.

  • Finished the adventure, and I have to say it was disappointing how many iconic battles there are in this one and yet every one of them (except vs Xavius) felt like one note, being beaten almost effortlessly without thought. The last two in particular plays exactly like token druid in standard with as much to be expected from a typical token druid game: hard mulligan for the cards you need, fill the board, buff and win. Or don't, and get your helpless arse kicked to the netherside of Kalimdor.

That sylvanas end fight was particularly disappointing considering how well Anduin's last match was. I wasn't expecting the same, but the game ended way before I reached 10 mana, simply because Malfurion practically stole the game with Powershifting. Saurfang didn't even get a turn before I won.

  • I wouldn't exactly say he's one of the weaker casters, just so happen that his performance this year has been shit, in fact it might have began exactly when the lockdown started.

He used to be fairly good with the play by play, and tends to crack jokes and laughs every now and then. But for some reason he hasn't been doing that, even when he's casting with guys he has chemistry with, like Sottle and Frodan. Not sure what the hell happened to the man, but he's incredibly awkward nowadays.

  • Has something happened to TJ? Far as I know this was not a good year for him; every time he casts it seems so awkward its unbelievable I'm looking at the same person from years back.

  • I think Il'gynoth is making tournaments insufferable to watch as well. Mostly because it is uninteractive, and the player either gets screwed because he couldn't draw cards or wins because he had exactly the cards he needs. Meanwhile the casters trying their very best to make the match look exciting by constantly reminding us what the player has got to do to outcast his skull.

It shares a similar vibe with druid decks. Doesn't seem to matter a whole lot what your opponent is doing, the deck largely gets beaten by itself.

But druid has been in this funk for a long time. Most top level druid decks is mostly single player; draw the exact cards you need or get shat on by everything and anything. At some point team5 have got to realise that a good druid's gameplan is cancerous, and start printing actual good cards for them while removing Innervate and Lightning Bloom from the game.

  • Its kinda hard to understand why WoW wouldn't just go full on ftp or at least pay once and just gain additional money off the microtransactions. Back in the day WoW was revolutionary for being one of the few actual MMos available that is both popular and well designed. Nowadays there simply so many more games doing the same, not many can stomach the subscription fees anymore, especially given that the game is fairly repetitive.

Oh well, at least its not as crazy as EVE online, which is at the apex of being games as a second job that you pay to work for.

Either way, that video just comes across as sentimental rather than trying to expose blizz as a company fueled by greed. Unless blizz starts revolutionizing its game tech again, its unlikely to ever recapture what WoW did in the past, not least because of the subscription model.

  • Its kinda sad but yet again we see that nearly everyone is bringing priest so the mandatory rush warrior is required as well, because nearly everyone will be banning priest. Which leads us to lifesteal dhunter and token druid bring because rogue and deathrattle dhunter are bad vs rush warrior.

Not alot of shaman, likely because of its linear gameplan which most pros tend to shirk away from. Which is baffling, because doomhammer shaman is legit. Maybe its the fear that face hunter will be everywhere.

So we're once again stuck with the same lineup before wailing caverns, despite shaman's top form. And at this point I can't really see anymore nerfs incoming unless Il'gynoth and Mindrender Illucia are being on the line. So guess its going to be quite a linear 2 months until the next expansion.

  • You can just craft it now if you dont have it, since you'll get a refund when the patch goes live tomorrow.

Of course, that's just one day. But that's still doable, assuming you hustle for it.
