well now that's a good legendary. With the new card Scavenger's Ingenuity, hunter can tutor this card so its possible to add this into highlander and not rely exclusively on draw rng
Just too slow, really. Akama himself looks okay as a vanilla 3/4 for 3. But Akama Prime is just one of those flashy cards that does relatively little. If it werent for Leeroy Jenkins rotating I would have just flagged him as trash.
Maybe there's more to it at later card reveals, but I wouldnt count on it.
Its an interesting card, but rogue has never been lacking offensive stuff to play. Play Akama Prime and swipe your opponent's face for 6 every turn. But you'd need to first draw Akama Prime, play Akama Prime, and lastly, not die.
Unfortunately, control decks can usually get rid of minions like this, aggro decks will just not care, and midrange decks will probably kill you before you do them.
Its not a dragon, its not a beast, its not a demon. Could it be...
An AOE?
6 mana, 6/3, destroy your opponent's board if all their health are below 4. Kinda neat. But without any tribe tag, its probably just a highlander card.
skip two turn? as far as I know the best draw engine for warlock is hero power or Veiled Worshipper. No warlock deck except for handlock and controlock can skip 2 turns and not lose. But maybe there would be some support for this in later reveals.
If the algorithms is that it always go in your favor, then it might be that 2x pyro + 2x fireball dream to the opponent's face if he has an empty board.
5 random mage spells that are in your favour is typically good enough to see play. I wonder how this works though. The wording is vague enough, does it mean that it has an even chance of casting an offensive spell like Frostbolt as with a value spell like Arcane Intellect? And what about beneficial spells like Molten Reflection, will it cast it on the enemy as well?
At least the RNG is reduced, with it being only mage spells, and that it targets enemies (if possible) so there's a chance for it to go double Pyroblast and Fireball to the face.
Maybe the best comparison is with the Reno from Galakrond's awakening's hero power.
Perhaps more snark than explanation, so I guess I deserve the flak
No constructive druid deck needs this. A random 8 drop seems fine in theory, but from what we saw of druid archetypes, druid doesnt ever run out of things to play, not even embiggen druid. If they skip a turn, its most likely because a) they dont have enough mana, or b) to activate quest, or c) they are going to die and there's no taunt minion. A 7/7 rush is fine, and I'm not going to take that away its a really good effect and on curve too, but if cards like Oondasta couldn't make it to the tier 1 list of embiggen druid, I'm skeptical of the chances of a card that establishes less tempo and provides value to a deck that typically doesnt need it.
Also, let's not forget how cards like Winged Guardian made the list; its a taunt, and its untargetable. No matter the size of the minion, if it doesnt protect face at turn 7, there's always going to be some amount of skepticism, and if its targetable it means it doesnt hard counter classes like rogue or mage, 2 of the most popular classes currently.
But, as usual, since we dont have the full list of AoO, there might be more support for this card in future. As for now, my bets on this not making it.
Terrible, not because of its dormancy, but because the effect requires that you hold up your hand as well.
Unless we see a card that throws like 3 tokens into your hand, this card is perfectly useless. You play this, lose 2 turns, and presumably need to draw like the wind to get value out of this, losing even more tempo in the meantime.
There's a small chance a midrange handlock can use this better, but it'll need plenty of support. As it stands currently, the only deck that would want this is zoo, and losing tempo in zoo is not good.
No gameplay video? I was rather looking forward to seeing it work.
There's got to be more secret support cards for rogue for this card to truly be value. On its own, its not really bad, considering that its only 2 mana. And with cards like Preparation you can legit get a train of secrets down and chances are there's going to be something that protects this card from being removed.
If it lives more than 1 turn, that's another secret train. So there's definitely something to this card, but I look forward to seeing more support cards for secret rogue.
Alright, I ragged on this piece a while ago. But looking at it from a different perspective, its more or less an interesting minion for both paladin and priest.
Paladin - Quest. And this being just one card, and that both Mechanical Whelp and Mechano-Egg's rotating, means there's a vacancy that Al'ar can fill.
But who am I kidding. For some reason team5 decided to make it so the ashes can be destroyed. Maybe priest can give it a home, but more likely it'll just be everyone's nightmare after hearing the innkeeper yell "waaaaa, legendary"
My mistake. Shows how long its been since I last saw that in standard.
I think the second battlecry will proct after the first one's finished. So if it kills the opponent's board the 2nd battlecry is redundant, I guess.

And its a deathrattle, so you get to get more copies of Zixor Prime via Nine Lives, and Oblivitron. Combo with Scarlet Webweaver + Hunting Party.
All in all, a very good card for hunter.

Still, there's plenty of ways to get more Akama Prime, assuming you'd even want to. Togwaggle's Scheme, Shadow of Death, Faceless Manipulator (yes only YOU get to copy him).
At very best, Shadow of Death + Stowaway = 3 Akama Prime on board
But really, much like Waxadred, not going to see play. Unfortunate.
He helped illidan take over black citadel, then betrayed him to Maiev.
A real rogue alright. He was permanently stealth in W3 as well, by the way.

"Illidan, the unloved"
When you use any emote against Tyrande, all he will say is "it was never to be"
Maybe that's why hes so angry all the time.
that's one 1000 win portrait that's manifestly superior to the base hero portrait.
I kinda like the portrait that was based on the original card, but Illidan will look good from any angle in hearthstone.
Its labeled 'target enemies if possible' so theoretically it can still target your own stuff.
These are stuff that only team5 can explain. Its not really intuitve as to what exactly 'if possible' means in this context.

You need two cards, and one of which is a singular copy in the deck. There's better cards to activate vendetta and fencer, if that's the goal.

"Deal 1 damage to the enemy for every spell casted this game"
But knowing hearthstone its probably something that supports highlander mage and be completely unrelated to its WoW counterpart.
Alright, I ragged on this piece a while ago. But looking at it from a different perspective, its more or less an interesting minion for both paladin and priest.
Priest - Grave Rune + Shadowy Figure, Wretched Reclaimer + Embalming Ritual, this card + High Priest Amet + any of the ones I mentioned. Getting this back with Psychopomp. There's tons of way for priest to get value out of this card. In many ways it resembles Zerek, Master Cloner or even Recurring Villain. Maybe at some point there's going to be some support for this, and priest is the likeliest class to have it
Paladin - Quest. And this being just one card, and that both Mechanical Whelp and Mechano-Egg's rotating, means there's a vacancy that Al'ar can fill.

Basically play a 7 drop that generate an 8 drop.
In other words; NOPE
