Shyvana is a bit of a weird card. Weak when she's in her base form but incredibly strong in her Leveled Up form. I think that buffing the Level Up condition would've been nice but I think that the Attack buff is much better because it technically makes her do more Dragon damage by herself, lowering that Level Up condition by 1 or 2 on average while giving her much more relevance in the midgame.

I want to say that I'm a bit surprised we got a Weapon with Secret synergy when we still have Eaglehorn Bow in Classic. Imo this will see play still because it curves out really well if you have a coin. You just go turn 1 coin secret + turn 2 secret + turn 3 Petting Zoo to turn 4 [Hearthstone Card (Rinfing's Rifle) Not Found] + turn 5 Captain Greenskin. You should be able to run Captain Greenskin because it can also synergize well with Eaglehorn Bow.

I mean HS did have that one boss where the game was chess-like. I'm guessing that's not what you mean?

There were a bunch of things we were wrong about Hunter legendaries before, specifically Deathrattle ones. Oblivitron looked like an absolute meme until it actually saw play in Deathrattle Mech Hunter. I think this is practically similar to Oblivitron except that you are a bit more (or less perhaps?) restricted in deckbuilding. It acts in the same way that it immediately acts as a Deathrattle trigger and depending on what other Deathrattles we may get this could be a pretty good card.

For now, it's probably a meme.

The only time I've ever seen Vladimir actually getting played was when The Harrowing was still able to summon enemy minions as well, played in the same deck as Hecarim because they mainly do similar things which is a great amount of Nexus burst with a full board. Other than that it would be when it was the last day of the closed beta and everyone ran Vladimir Braum for some reason (granted this was when people thought Shark Chariot was a good card and the last time She Who Wanders saw a huge amount of play. Ahh, good times.)

That said, buffing Vladimir is a really tough topic to tackle. I think that there are a lot of things they could do to help Vladimir but indirectly buff Noxus as a region at the same time. The only cards I think they could probably buff without having any effect on other Noxus archetypes would be Blood for Blood (the card could straight up be 0 mana imo and still see no play) and Crimson Aristocrat could be a 3/2 or 2/3 instead because she's just a worse Imperial Demolitionist. In my opinion, the best way to buff Vladimir or his Crimson units is changing their mana cost so that they could probably curve out better. The archetype also lacks a good 1 drop, Unscarred Reaver is hard to use without it taking exactly 1 damage, and other Noxus 1 drops have too little HP.

However, I think I know the reason why they aren't doing much to buff Vladimir, even now they're just saying that he's just getting a QoL buff. I think Riven could potentially be a self-harm support card. That or at least they'll release more self-harm support. For example, in the Call of the Mountains expansion we got Jack, the Winner, he's a Bilgewater card that has self-harm mechanics and in the next expansion, we got more Bilgewater self-harm cards. Granted they're rarely seen together but the idea still stands. For Noxus, we got Basilisk Bloodseeker which is probably pointing to the fact that we are probably going to get more self-harm cards. The live design team did say that they have been eluding to buff certain archetypes because of the new cards that were coming (namely ramp because Trundle). They also said that we were going to get Ephemeral support next expansion as well and to support my theory we have both Stalking Shadows and Encroaching Shadows which got released the same time as Jack, the Winner.

    In reply to Vladimir rework.

I feel like no one ever achieves the stack limit outside of Riptide Rex being on the stack in the first place, that or Karma. I think it's a fine mechanic, just needs to be clarified further. A lot of the game feels like this where you lose because you didn't know the interaction and you learn from your mistake after that. Like how you can't ghost block an overwhelm unit.

I agree with The University of Piltover being a bit too slow. I had thought it would be a pretty good resource engine against hard control decks and after playing about 15 games with it I came to the conclusion that Augmented Experimenter is much better because most of the time it just gives straight burn options and ends the game before the control player could draw their heal or board clear. Tho I will say just because it discards the hand and draws 3 random cards doesn't really mean it's bad. If it does come to a situation where Discard Aggro can't burn fast enough and has to play more for the late game, The University of Piltover could be seen as a 1 of. Honestly, I've been running it as a 1 of nowadays and it's doing decently well. About 60% WR in Casual.

Everybody gangsta until Yogg pulls out the Rod of Roasting.

Also seeing as how most of Yogg's options are basically board clears with upside (47% if you count Curse of Flesh), this could actually see play not as a build around but as a control card in decks like Priest, Mage, Druid, Shaman.

Well if you're talking about false flags, there are also other ways to do it and I know one that has worked pretty well. During the EU climbing grind in Masters to qualify for the tournament, freshlobster used a Warmother's deck that ran 0 Warmother's and instead focuses the matchups so it's better against Lee Sin by running 3 copies of Flash Freeze. I don't know how the deck works only that it does work and it got him to top 8 Masters in EU. Obviously, I think that this is a deck that probably won't work elsewhere but if you want to try it.

    Deck code: CICACAYFAIBAGAICAYBQCBIBDUUAMAIBAEGBIGRBE4AQEAIFB4MQA

For me personally I think the card is decent.  It's cosmic inspiration on a stick for 2 more mana.  Being on a stick makes it better since you get the effect at the same time as a body.  It's aggressive statline means it's good for trading up.  To balance the fact that it's Cosmic Inspiration on a stick, it only affects dragons which means deckbuilding wise you don't want to include a ton of non-dragon types otherwise you aren't getting as much value.  I think it's a fair card that will see play, especially if people can find a way to cheat it out.

Cosmic Inspiration was used to buff your tiny creatures to become actual threats and become more impactful in the late game. Dragons don't really need that. The only time the everywhere part of the text matters is for Ionia's Dragonlings and in which case would be too slow and would barely be important at 10 Mana and above. This card's saving grace is the fact that it is a Dragon itself and that you can cheat it out with a decent amount of options. Would be good in a mirror match up but for me, this seems to be worse than Brightsteel Formation. I can't really see a world where Brightsteel Formation is worse than Kadregrin.

so it's a minimum of a 11/8 when played at least. but 9 mana.. damn that's expensive

wonder if you can actually cheat this out somehow.. since it's "summoned"

agree with forty dust too much timmy.

Just want to say that the card states other so it's just a 9 Mana 9/6 unfortunately. I also think it's too Timmy to be playable, but this card could be a Warmother's deck to be in Demacia.

Where'd you hear about the 27 cards part? From what I can see its just 5 Epic spells.

With how Dragons gets played, I don't think you'd need another dragon generator, especially not at 2 mana where you can just play the new Dragonguard Lieutenant card or Herald of Dragons in the deck. Unless Shyvana is a card that says along the lines of gain X power for each Dragon you have in your hand, this card wouldn't be good.

This card is an interesting card but it's hard to say whether or not it will see play. I love the flavor but unless some kind of spell-hate deck exists, this card wouldn't really see play outside of being a tech choice in certain metas. Not sure if I'm blind but I think this card just can't be run in any Bannerman deck just because its stats are possibly not good enough to warrant a "maybe annoy the opponent" effect.

Could we be seeing Galio next year? This both looks like him and has a general anti-Mage functionality like Galio does.

With the new Landmark card type, I would love it if Galio would become a Landmark/Champion hybrid. Like flipped lands from MtG. Or maybe it's too confusing and they make him a 0 attack Champion like Nautilus until he flips.

Is this that bad though? I feel like this is actually playable. It reminds me of Aluneth, just a great draw engine when you're low on cards. I don't think Jinx would be alive by the time this discards your hand though but I still think drawing 3 random fleeting cards could be just really insane especially when they hit huge bodies late game. At worse, it'd just be a discard fodder and at best it'd just randomly win you games. At the very least, I like this as a control matchup tech. I'm hoping a bit that this won't be seeing that much play though (even if I like the card), this randomness could prove too much to handle. It'd be like playing against Nab decks all over again.

Comparing this to Bloodsworn Pledge it doesn't seem all that great, but on certain units (such as Tahm Kench or Taric) it seems like it could be really powerful.

I think this is much better than Bloodsworn Pledge because most of the time with it was that you'd hit 1 follower instead of 2. It's more comparable to something like Fury of the North statswise. I can't really see this card being played as a 3 of though. Really hard to maximize the healing as well. I think this will be something like what Bastion was when it released, a card that sees some play as an odd pick in some meta decks.

I'm gonna take the guess and that it's probably Soraka since a bunch of her cards was already revealed so they don't have as much of her cards left.

Is this perhaps the reason to play Freljord Purrsuit of Perfection?

I'm curious how this will work when it kills a unit and you don't have another unit with 1 cost higher than that unit. Will it even kill the unit? Or will it just summon the next highest? The way it's worded makes me think it will just kill the unit entirely.

    My interpretation is:

    • If there is an N+1 cost unit in the deck (where N is most expensive ally on board), kill the ally and summon that unit
    • Else: do nothing

I think the key word is "Kill your most expensive ally to summon an ally...". In other words, it's like a contract where killing is the price and summoning is the reward; you either get both or nothing. Plus from a game design POV it just feels really bad if you pay 5 mana for something that automatically kills of your best unit for sometimes no benefit and then you can't even block with it.

Yeah I trust that Riot knew what they were doing when they were making this card and I think that at the very least it wouldn't be the worst outcome that Vaults will just keep killing your biggest unit when you have nothing bigger than it in the deck.

Onthe other hand, I still think it could go both ways with it either doing nothing or killing the next unit it can hit. Though I think I'm more inclined to say that it's probably gonna do nothing because it'd be really confusing otherwise.
