  • Honestly, it is a shame to see you downvoted because you were totally respectful and mostly objective; as long as people think that the downvote button is a dislike button people will alter their opinions because of it. I feel like the best solution to facilitate conversations that are not being influenced by up/downvotes is to put a disclaimer for downvoting posts like Reddit used to do.

Edit: Not to say some individuals did not deserve to be downvoted as Dapperdog pointed out that some were harassing others.

  • That Bloodsail Deckhand buff feels so weird to me; I figured if warrior was going to get a buff it was going to be a newer card, not one that has existed for a year and a half.

  • TBH I kind of wish people would stop asking about anime. It was silly and all the first time but got really repetitive afterwards... anyways I think the best solution to the high cost requirement of a format that rotated through old sets would be to do something similar to the current core set we have. Maybe it could be as simple as including it? IMO the biggest issue with the format would be balance. A lot of older sets were printed with the context of the classic set being in standard and the two sets in front and behind it so certain cards could become an issue.

  • It does not. If you mainly have been playing Flesh Fiant in standard you probably wouldn't notice but Flesh Giant's interaction with armor is much more noticeable in wild where you can play Crystallizer and damage your hero.

  • You have actually misinterpreted the card; The Demon Seed does not say take damage to your heroes health during your turn but rather it says take damage during your turn. Flesh Giant does not get a discount when you take damage with armor on during your turn, so it is not a conditional statement problem.

  • Your take was not that hot tbh lol

  • I imagine most people just slot out a card they don't think they will need very much out out of their regular deck than slot back in afterwards

  • Every mini-set has busted wild so far and I find it really funny. I kind of want to see how far wild can be pushed...

    Balancing.

The 5 mana 7/7 stat line is purely thematic. HS has a history of giving cards thematic stats and costs for the sake of looking nice (see 4/12 dragons, LoE and their SoU counterparts, etc). Anyways, I think that it is kind of pointless to not create content like the mini set because even if they don't the critical mass of impossible to balance cards will be reached and I doubt that 60(ish) cards will make that big of a difference getting there in the first place. I do think that you are right; eventually, this game will end up like Yugioh where there are so many cards it is impossible to balance correctly (though that is partly because of the standard format Yugioh uses).

Fact is that the devs build decks based on "fun" and much slower than the decks can be built. So for example in mage quest deck recipe they put minions. Silly devs.

These decks are definitely made for the newer/more casual player to use/change/improve upon. I seriously doubt that in all their play testing the best deck they could come up with were those recipes… at least I hope so lol

Edit: I fucekd up the quotes

  • I imagine there will be spell school support from something similar to dungeoneers.

At the rate we're going, every start of year will start with over 645 cards in rotation, and end with 1020 (not including whatever they decide to do with Core each year), and something about that just seems wrong to me…

You didn't really explain why more cards being in standard is a bad thing other than it makes you feel wrong...

  • He is probably something like a manager/supervisor/leadership role who makes sure progress is actually being made

  • It seems like there is a lot in store after Mercs is out. I really hope they do go through with the special borders.

wish you guys wouldn't have allocated all the resources to cloning Raid: Shadow Legends, a game no one likes nor asked for. If those resources were instead allocated towards making the client better, we'd be in a better spot. I hope Mercs dies quickly. Gacha games are immoral

    God what a dick.

  • I think you are misinterpreting my comment here; no matter how the meta plays out, there will always be people who complain no matter what. A lot of these players will not be happy with the game no matter what. It doesn't matter whether the game is in a balanced state or not, they will still complain. We have a classic mode where nearly every single type of deck is viable but people still say it's boring because freeze mage stalls, control warrior clears the board, and hunter goes face. These people exist in everything, and it is pointless to try and please them. Now I am not saying that everyone upset with the current meta is unreasonable, but you see a lot of the same users here who complain under a lot of posts and I think a lot of the recent articles have been attracting them. Hell, the most recent post is a demonstration of someone complaining for the sake of complaining without thinking about it.

Edit: Since I forgot to address your last line: if you find the game totally unplayable in its current state, I think you just do not like CCGs.

  • Exactly. We just had a control priest meta in Barrens and everyone was super upset about that. Now that we have decks with clear win conditions and decks that win fast and people are complaining again. I honestly think its better to not address these people because they will complain no matter what.

  • I really enjoy questline decks in standard and don't really want to see too much of a change (it is a little absurd that the people complaining about control priest last expansion are the same people complaining about this meta). I personally think the best solution is to nerf any of the problematic cards in wild but keep them the same in standard. It might be a little confusing for newer players, but we already play with two different versions of classic cards so I do not think it will be that big of a deal. Anything is better than banning a card because it sucks not even being able to use a card at all.

  • Maybe people aren't downvoting you because they disagree with you but because you are being a jerk.

  • I personally do not want an auction house. I like Hearthstone because the only time I am required to interact with another player is when I am in a match. There is also the fact that adding an auction house would require a change to the dust system. Eitherway, I would rather dust economy be improved than a bandaid feature be added.

  • I can see how self inserting youself as a character is narcissistic. I just don't think that the way Blizz was doing it (or at least in HS) was narcissistic.

  • I literally don't use public toilets, those things are disgusting. Anyways I think it is absurd that consumers would pin the blame on a specific dev instead of the company. It reminds me of when I was a teenager, and people would complain to me about whatever corporate decision they didn't like as if I were responsible. Part of me Imagines a lot of the people going onto twitter just haven't ever had a job in a corporate setting,

  • This is totally true. I remember saying I liked the meta here a week or two ago and I got super downvoted. I feel like in most video game communities (especially in more easily accessible forums such as Hearthpwn and Reddit) people get upset if your opinion goes against the grain. People who enjoy combo metas never get to enjoy them for long, lol.
