  • One of the ways is to hold him on phase 1 until you have an OTK. He either only has one C'thun or doesn't have any during that phase (can't remember, either way it won't be too bad). You can do this with Elise with Navigator and Starseeker fairly easily, duplicating buffs to create infinite spells to create infinite Moonfires.

  • This isn't a rant about power, or even frustration. This is about design space. I think that Frost Nova seriously limits the design space of freeze effects for Mage. With Frost Nova and Blizzard, Mage has insane board locking presence. They can prevent all enemy minions from attacking up to four times. That's totally balanced, but it means that you really can't print another mass freeze effect (at least not one with a bonus effect worth using). Being able to do that six times is far too much. With both cards being Classic, that's an entire design that that's just... not viable.

Obviously if Nova were to go, it would have to be prefacing a set where Blizzard was intending to add another mass freeze. That makes the most sense.

The reason I think Nova should go over Blizzard is because it's cheaper and has no other effects, which makes it harder to balance. Also, Blizzard is too entertaining to cut from Standard. I also know that Cone of Cold exists, but that's just a worse Frost Nova (ergo, a side effect that's not worth using). Maybe without Nova, Cone of Cold could even see play - that might be interesting.

Thoughts? Do you agree or am I talking out of my ass?

  • If Jaraxxus didn't see play because of Zephrys, he would've seen play in Rise of Shadows (which he did not).

The problem with Jaraxxus is that Warlock is terrible, and has been all of 2019. The only viable Warlock deck is Zoolock, and that's worse than Murloc Shaman/Pally and friggin' Zoo Priest of all things. Blizzard has been trying to push this nonsense card cycle thing with Plot Twist and has not worked. If Jaraxxus were to see play, Warlock needs cards to compete with Control Warrior, or at the very least contest aggro decks.

I am very against buffing Lord Jaraxxus by the way. I'm against buffing any Classic card that saw lots of play, especially a win condition. If you buff a card to the level of stuff that's obviously a little too good, then you now have a card that's too good and will never rotate out. With Thaurisan and N'zoth coming back next week, maybe Jaraxxus has enough good stuff to see play again. Maybe one day we'll get a card that reduces the cost of in-hand demons or something and Jaraxxus becomes really good for an entire Standard meta. I dunno. Buffing is certainly too hasty, though.

  • Low key, this might be Blizzard testing a rotating Classic set. I'd be alright with that.

  • Good ol' days of HAHAHAHA PRIEST.

  • If Shaman gets Secrets, they should have Overload - with the twist that the Overload only triggers when the Secret is revealed. That lets you make Secrets with "different mana costs".

  • I don't hear it. At best it's saying "Gen Back". There's no T sound.

This might be case like Kobold Librarian where it's supposedly saying "Ahh, fire!" and my ears refuse to even kind of hear that.

  • This has been bugging me for five months. Seriously, what does she say when you play her? All I can hear is "Glen Beck". Not even the Hearthstone wiki knows.

Can we put our heads together and solve this?

  • I didn't know how much I wanted an LoE/LoE team-up until you said that, but I will be very disappointed if that isn't the last theme.

Theory me: We've had a little bit of out of place Pandaria stuff this expansion (Mogu Fleshshaper and Into the Fray). Somehow Rafaam is going to accidentally unleash the Sha and it'll mess up everything, and it's going to take a nine-man pileup to fix it. That would be amazing.

  • Also, she turns into a tentacle monster whenever lightning strikes. That's a big theme. Blizzard hasn't exactly been subtle with that.

  • Quote From ZardozSpeakz
Hunter will have the iconic Demon Hunter himself, Illidan.

The Hunter legendary should be Hakkar the Houndmaster. That fits the Hunter flavour a lot more closely.

  • I got Unseal the Vault as my quest and [Hearthstone Card (Awaken the Obelisk) Not Found] as my golden Legendary. Big meh to both of those, but at least I opened Bazaar Burglary in a pack.

  • It's probably because the existing Lackey keyword pulls from the same uncollectible pool, and all the Uldum cards are in the game data. Given that it's just six days, I don't blame Blizzard for not specifically excluding it.

  • Hack the System makes me hate Dr. Boom even more than I already do. I actually think it looks really interesting, but it's so much worse than his Hero Powers that it's pointless. When Dr. Boom finally leaves, we'll also lose Sul'thraze. Grumble grumble.

On topic, the worst Quest has to be Unseal the Vault. It's too slow for the Hero Power you get.

  • Only thing I don't like about this card is how much worse it makes Plague of Madness look.

  • That is a very easy condition. I'm interested to see the Hero Power.

EDIT: Just poked around online. Apparently it equips a 3/2 weapon that makes your hero Immune while attacking.

    Holy sweet mother of...
