  • Ok, question regarding Amalgams: does Whatley search first for minions that are just one type, then look for amalgams? Or does he just grab one of each, meaning you could draw fewer cards if, say for example, you only have one pirate in your deck and he draws an amalgam instead?

Same question for N'Zoth, God of the Deep.

I want to know what the deal is with Infinite Arcane. It doesn't say where the cards it offers you come from, but I faced an opponent playing C'Thun, the Shattered who cast this (before casting all 4 of C'Thun's spells), then discovered a playable C'Thun, the Shattered 2 turns in a row! That card was NOT in his deck! But if it offers you random cards out of the entire pool of thousands (as its text implies), how could he get C'Thun 2 out of 2 times? I lost obviously, which was pretty frustrating. But I am also frustrated because this card does not clearly state what it does. My best guess is that it offers you cards that STARTED in your deck, which would include C'Thun, in my example. But it doesn't say that!

Dont know the answer to your question, sorry, but i have another one: how does the discover work? I mean, if you play the spell, do you get to discover a card on the turn you played it? And if not, do you just lose your next draw, because your deck is empty and you discover a card to put on top? Do you take fatigue damage? Or do you discover a card before the turn starts, before you draw, so you discover and then draw the discovered card?:o

Infinite Arcanum discovers a card from your deck, not a random one. It wouldn’t be a treasure otherwise. Also, that C’thun interactions seems pretty busted lol

That's pretty f-ed. I mean, it doesn't even remotely say that in its text. Plus, cards that STARTED in your deck? I guess my opponent just got super lucky being offered C'Thun twice out of however many cards were in his deck at the start of the match

  • Thanks, good to know. Didn't think to check the border. Damn, that is annoying, though. Cost me the game (well, cost me a really good chance at saving the game, I should say).

  • Has anyone else played a Yogg that says "Ready" and had him just do nothing? Happened to me yesterday.

  • I love Hack the System, even though it has never really been super competitive. This looks great and I will definitely give it a try. Bonus points for a great write-up!

Have you considered Hoard Pillager? There's no such thing as too many weapons when you're spamming golems!

  • When are they fixing tavern brawls so they work for quests and achievements? This would be a great way to summon 200 Greyboughs, heal a ton with High Exarch Yrel, etc.

I actually have 95g, and if I don't play arena (and I don't like to) I can't get to a round amount of gold, making the remaining 45g totally useless.

You could play Heroic Duels to round it out. Same awards as Arena.

This also drives me crazy! You can't spend 5 gold, so why not just round up (or even down) those rewards. It's such a small thing that really doesn't matter, but for reason I hate it! I would actually play more arena/heroic duels if not for this

  • This could be fun! C'Thun is only an alternate win condition if you draw all 4 of his pieces BEFORE playing Deck of Lunacy, otherwise he's gone for good. Have you considered running The Amazing Reno? You're already generating a lot of random spells and minions, so why stop there?

There´s something I´ve learned by playing Casual Duels that might be helpful to those of us missing quite a bunch of new legendaries/epics required for the achievement completion. You can force out some of the required cards in buckets by building a specific deck. For example:

Mage: make a spell heavy build and you can get Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate in your buckets. More so, if you make secret heavy deck, you will get Sayge, Seer of Darkmoon along with Occult Conjurer. Set it up with Duplicate and you got the achievement done without actually owning the cards.

Rogue: make a deck with all possible shuffles like Ticket Master and you will be offered Grand Empress Shek'zara through you loot.

Warrior: make a deck with all the rush minions and you weill get E.T.C., God of Metal along with Tent Trasher, and when you´re lucky, you can even get N'Zoth, God of the Deep through the menagerie bucket and complete It´s N´Zothing, Really achievement at once.

Druid: there were suggestions to make a taunt heavy deck to get Greybough with your loot, but I´ve managed to get him only once, so I can´t really confirm this (still trying to test this). But when you make spell heavy deck with Eclipses, you can get a loot bucket with Kiri, Chosen of Elune along with two other Eclipses,  so you can do the Sun and Moon to Me achievement quite easily, plus often you´ll get Guess the Weight as an option too.

Other good call is to choose Priests second treasure, where you can discover a corrupt card and corrupt it. This way I was able to get Carnival Clown and make the Coulrophobia achievement without owning the card.

Still trying to find a way to force Il'gynoth (lifesteal heavy deck?), G'huun the Blood God (some heavy spell/healing deck?) and High Exarch Yrel (force some pure version of paladin?).

Hopefully this helps someone :) Happy achievement hunt all and good luck!

Do the buckets actually work that way? I tried this by building DH around lifesteal and never got offered Il'gynoth a single time. Went like 7 or 8 rounds, I think.

  • Dear Warlock player I just lost to 10 minutes ago,

You had the game, and there was no way I could have won. Plus, we're at Bronze 10. On the off chance that my secret was Shadow Clone and I was achievement hunting, do you think you could have attacked with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler first, and Tickatus second? You even had a Cascading Disaster to remove whatever stealthed minion I got from it. Come on, why not give a fellow player a helping hand that costs you literally nothing? You suck.

    Love,

    Pezman

  • If you enjoy playing the game (as I do), you have no cause for guilt.  It's a great game! Have fun!

If you're concerned about how Blizzard is handling recent changes (as Alfi pointed out), maybe hold off on spending money on the game for awhile (if you do that).

  • Just another PSA: if you Maxima a Tonk into your opponent's face and the deathrattle kills them, it does NOT count for that achievement. They need to be killed by the initial impact.

  • Neat idea! Worth running a Tour Guide in case you don't have the Lightning Blooms when needed?

Originally it´s targeted for Warlocks Deck of Chaos, but Jeppeto could be a good replacement. I was "lucky" to get the prior as my free legendary, but I´m sure Jepetto would work just as good.  Have no idea about other way to get it done tho.

OH YES. I knew I was missing something. Thanks! I have Jepetto, but not the Deck, so I'll give that a try

  • Ok, so what's the deal with "Play a Darkmoon Rabbit for 1 mana"? Do you use Jepetto Joybuzz? Is there another way to do this?

  • Guys, I got SO lucky today! C'Thun-Lock mirror match, my opponent was at 12 health with an empty deck, I had C'Thun in the deck waiting to be drawn. The match was mine, but then he played Jaraxxus (and was suddenly at "full health"), I topdecked C'Thun and snagged that achievement! I know this does not help others get it, but I'm so hyped I had to brag. I hope others can run into similar luck!

  • This seems crazy difficult. To build C'Thun you have to play Eye of C'Thun, which could easily hit face even if nothing else has the whole game. You have to have some sort of healing option. Or give your opponent armor with Weapons Project?

  • I had a great Duels run with Shaman and went 7 wins, but somehow did not complete the "Finish a run with 7 wins" that awards actual XP. Has anyone else had this issue?

  • I've played him 3 times without any issues. I only got the disconnect when my opponent played him.
