Btw, did we get the time of the Announcement today?

Will there be just an official Announcement with no reveals and no stream?

I really hope for the Harrypottersque flair instead of the heavily morbid atmosphere of the old Scholomance.

It could be we're seeing the early stages of Scholomance, or a parallel fate where Necromancy was or will be fought off by other Professors in the school.

    Less corpses, more Mystery!

Hopefully, it's not too much about raising corpses, and more generally about the Dark side of nature and magic.

    The teaser looks promising!

The real issue with Ress Priest has always been early cheating of huge amounts of mana.

    Resurrecting itself is kinda ok.

It's a subjective POV, but I feel stretching new exp announcement so late is... Too late. And players might get away from the grip of the game in the meanwhile.

AoO has already exhausted its traction, players need new stuff, even just some reveals to fantasize about, but we need new stuff.

Nerfs can refresh the meta a little bit, but the fact some nerfs are happening on the same classes over and over for the same reasons actually reinforce the impression of overwhelming staleness, instead of dispelling it.

I'm struggling to find motivation to get back to Wild D5 despite 10stars and the fact I absolutely enjoy my homebrew Aggro Reno Paladin.

    Anyone else feeling the same?

They still have about a month till the usual August launch, so they r well within their norm with the announcement, but yes, it should come pretty soon id imagine.

Btw, what is Aggro Reno Paladin? How, why?:D I need a decklist!

It's the deck in my signature. This is what happens when the meta is rigged towards Aggro, but you still wanna play Aggro yourself. :p

Looking forward to seeing announcement and some fancy cards next week. Hopefully on Tuesday (I think an announcement wouldn't overlap an already announced nerf patch).

After Galakrond Shaman and DH I'm curious to see what's the next OP anomaly we'll get served with the next expansion...

I think HS is better without those new mechanics, as they would make gameplay way more clunky, and they would be dubious as upgrades - more like sidegrades.

These nerfs can't come soon enough.

As well as next expansion announcement and reveals!

From a Wild standpoint, I'm happy with most of these nerfs.

REALLY happy with DH and Warrior nerfs (hell! It took 'em quite some time to realize those cards needed a nerf heh?!). - this is probably the ultimate patch for DH and the class won't need any more nerfs for the time being.

LUDICRUOSLY happy about Metamorphosis, since I dropped the card in packs. Free dust yay!

Dragonqueen Alexstrasza is bittersweet, since the card was quite cool, and overall fairly balanced IMO, despite being capable of insane swings, but even if I own the card, I never play it, so I might even think of dusting it and call it a day in favor of new cards.

I'm just sad about Dragoncaster which won't fit Even Mage anymore. :(

PS: I didn't think they would nerf War/DH, so I have to take back my previous thoughts about the incoming nerf: it's actually quite good.

PPS: hopefully this is a first step towards a no (0)-discount hard-rule.

A month-long reveal season would have been ideal, given the period of time we live in, and the staleness of meta in HS (and I doubt the next nerf patch is going to solve it, since current HS includes structural problems).

Well, I tend to like my homebrews better, and of those, I must say I am pretty proud of my Aggro Highlander Paladin. Because, well, it is off-meta, but it works surprisingly well (I reached D3 with minor effort, and I'm sure a good player could push it to Legend) and it is incredibly versatile for an Aggro deck, thanks to the Highlander cards: Zephrys the Great is probably the best card ever in HS (while not being broken or OP in any way), and Sir Finley of the Sands follows close second.

Notable mention to Even decks, nearly all of them. I just love the consistency of an efficient HP every other turn (except that of DH, I can't stand DH, it feels too much like a tutored class, I can't enjoy it).

So Warrior and DH are perfectly fine, apparently... Ok...

TBH I can't see how an expansion can reduce the power and synergies in those classes. Not without introducing even more broken cards and synergies.

I'm glad Wild suffers much less from all this (although it's not perfectly fine either).

I think everything could be fixed if DH had nothing between Face-Aggro and Big/Control.

Issue right now is that DH is too efficient and has too many options both with Face damage AND Tempo. Those two things, toppled by ridiculous card draw, break the paradigm of Aggro, as it was mentioned in the OP.

So my proposal is to nerf to the ground the bodies of all DH minions between (1) and (5), reducing their hp below average, and their attack barely at average levels.

Battlefiend should be 2/1 (yep, stronger attack, but pinging it away would be really easy). Glaivebound Adept should be 5/3, Kayn Sunfury should be 3/4 (or 4/3 or 4/2). And beaming sidekick to give just +1 (it's Neutral, but +2 is just too much at (1), compare with [Hearthstone Card (kuktiran chaplain) Not Found] and Kabal Talonpriest).

At that point, Frozen Shadoweaver can be put to rest at (4) (compare with spellbreaker).

That would leave Face DH available for flavor, but weak to Control and classic Tempo decks, by virtue of the board weakness on the DH side.

And if you want a better board, you go Big.

DH fixed forever, as long as they stick with the paradigm.

On a sidenote, I think the Rush Illidari bodies should never be buffed in any way, as you do not want DH to become a wide+tall class (it also makes little sense flavor-wise IMO).

On a sidenote, the Quest counts even on an early self concede.

Embrace Wild, where your investments are way more valuable, and where staying up-to-date with the meta is easier, hence making consistency of playtime less meaningful.

That is,  you can easily leave Wild for a while, knowing you won't be too far behind when you come back - easing your staying away from the game, and eventually easing your way out.

PS: a good job grants you a good money income, with which you can buy way more packs than quests can grant. So your job is actually boosting your capability to stay up-to-date, with a much lesser effort.Assuming ofc you still like the game.

Usually i don't reach [Hearthstone Card (Shadderwock) Not Found] turn, because I usually play Aggro.

But I was playing Odd Warrior and it happened: infinite wocky.

I closed the game without conceding, leaving my opponent to play on his own.

And I was wondering: don't you player feel retarded for having to wait several minutes to actually perform your retarded win turn?

I guess they restricted to Standard to improve the challenge and prevent cheese strategies.

But yeah, such a big letdown for Wild players who don't care for and can't afford an up-to-date Standard collection...

There is a whole lot of a difference between a game in its beta and a new class being introduced once the said game is in its 5/6th year of official release.

In other words, DH is in no beta mode, and we're 3 months since its introduction now.
