I hope they gave him the latest entrance animation that was on Illidan Stormrage.
Many of the revealed cards are hugely powerful in terms of Value, with little to no Tempo.
That will not really translate into real power, because the meta will likely force most of them out of viability.
Huge value but slow.
If it was ANY spells, now that would be interesting.
But just buffs, it won't work.
Basically a 3-hp board clear, with an aggressive body.
That's a pretty nice Tempo swing.
Problem is when said board has bigger minions in-between.
Compare with Duskbreaker and Arcanosaur.
Lurker is more threatening, and its condition is on the effect itself, board-based instead of card-based.
Either way, even in the worst case scenario, Lurker always does a minimum action.
Miracle-Galakrond Rogue stuff, but vulnerable to setup disruption (unlike Leeroy), although quite resilient.
I love how this expansion is adherent to wc3 and wow lore.
I know I'll do my best to make it work in a Secret Thief Rogue, either Highlander or normal.
The flavor is just great.
Quote From NirastI'm pretty sure the gems are just a reference to the colors of the Secrets for the other classes.
I'm pretty sure the gems are just a reference to the colors of the Secrets for the other classes.
They're both.
They started from secrets, and used the colors and board appearence to depict them as Gems (which is not obvious).
At that point it was even too easy to use a Draenei character as both the Jeweler and the Thanos ref.
Not in Wild!
Anyway, Thief Rogue stays playable in Standard with good Tempo cards.
This one is legendary, and its usage is limited by the necessity of Secrets.
Miscreant is more versatile and also creates Lackeys, which are huge Tempo minions, while this guy only generates Value.
It is surely over the charts with stats and effects, but its limited versatility will likely keep it in check.
Secret Thief Rogue.
And reference to Thanos and the Infinity Gems.
The flavor is over 9000!
Rogue never fails me with insta-crafts.
Why Neutral tho?!?
Ok with Kael as a promo character, but at least Al'ar should have been a Mage card.

Yeah, but in current Wild it shouldn't be that cancerous: in the worst case, Quest Mage rises in population and keeps it in check.
The problem is when the Demons you get cost too much mana.
As an Aggro, Zoo is low curve, it can't afford expensive minions, except in a last stand where anything else already failed.
Zoo can use it in the same way it used Arch-Villain Rafaam, but it's not going to be an average play for Zoo, as early turns don't fit with randomness.
Renounce Darkness, but playable for Handlock, to transition from Control to Tempo mode.
Didn't they say card draw was just an occasional trait in Hunter?
If they don't reprint Illidan into a new card, it's a wasted chance.
They also gave him a new entrance animation (one of the coolest in the whole game too)...
Extremely conditional for Rogue (unless they release lots of strong secrets), but also a HUGE TEMPO card.
I wish there was a similar, unconditional, but Neutral and more expensive card, for Wild purposes.
Pretty 'classic' Control card: it improves board control with spells.
This is good news. It means Illidan is getting a rework.
It was about time for Illidan Stormrage to appear as a solid card, in line with Sylvanas Windrunner, The Lich King, etc.
