It definitely is not a small thing, quite a few ppl got confused by that in the past from what iv seen, since they didnt remember some old cards and just assumed they were in basic set cause no watermark …

I think they are just plain lazy. In this case, i dont even think its them being greedy not wanting to round up (or down i guess) the gold rewards. It would be very easy to do so.

I agree there should be improvements to the new player experience, one thing tho, the xpac announced at Blizzcon will not start a new HS year. You're thinking one more xpac in advance :)
