As someone who does not play arena, can anyone who understands the mode more than I confirm:
It says "To ensure that players have a chance to try out this devilish dual-class deck-building dress-up party, weeks 1 and 2 of this event will award Arena Tickets on login!"
So is the proper way to do this: 1) Start a run today, leave @ 2 losses - 2) Get 1st free ticket tomorrow, leave @ 2 losses - 3) Get 2nd free ticket next week, play it out - 4) Play out the "comped" ticket for today's run whenever.
Is that the correct way to do this to maximize runs one only buying 1 ticket - 4 entries?
You honestly dont even need to do that, if you dont need more SoU packs and want to get few more from the new expansion, since Arena Tickets dont expire, so:
Start a run before the event begins and leave it at x-2 = 1st Arena Ticket (for 1st retired run).
Log into the game during 1st week = 2nd Arena Ticket (free).
Redeem your rewards for retired run (see FAQ to not get confused about this part).
You now have 2 Arena Tickets saved up.
Start a run and leave it at x-2.
This will cost you 1 Arena Ticket.
You now have 1 Arena Ticket saved up.
Log into the game during 2nd week = 3rd Arena Ticket (free).
You now have 2 Arena Tickets saved up.
Log into the game after the event = 4th Arena Ticket (for 2nd retired run)
Redeem your rewards for retired run.
You now have 3 Arena Tickets saved up.
If you want SoU packs (from rewards), feel free to use your Arena Tickets whenever, before the new expansion launches.
If you want 3 extra packs from the new expansion, save your Arena Tickets for now and use them when the new expansion launches.
Hope that was clear enough lol :) Keep in mind, you might need to restart the game to trigger some steps, especially the first log in when the event starts, it might bug out and show you only one of the tickets etc. Always restart the game if you think ur missing some rewards and only then freak out :) But i never had any problems in all these years.
Lol Ice Block in arena :D That card was trash tier and still would be. Probably the biggest tempo dump of all secrets that will not save you anyway 99% of the time. Same goes for Mind Blast actually.

Q: Where are my rewards for the retired run? I opened my arena rewards but didn't get any pack or gold/dust.
A: This is a known bug, arena rewards are actually awarded to you once you finish your last game, before you open up the reward boxes. When an arena reset happens, it gets even more confusing because this happens on log in; sometimes you have to restart the game. People often see (1) pack in their inventory, don't think much about it, go open it and then go collect arena rewards only to find out they didn't get anything. But the fact is, that (1) pack on log in was actually the one from the arena rewards. Same with gold/dust, it was already added to your account even before you opened the arena rewards. You didn't lose anything.
Sorry, that was my bad. We originally had wrong sets listed (current rotation), or were they wrongly listed originally in the blog too? When i made the edit, i added Basic and Classic for convenience, but it is true that was just an assumption, we dont know for sure as of yet. Tho i cant rly imagine rotation without them, even tho it would be an interesting experiment.

Id assume they will be there, cant rly imagine they wouldnt lol, tho it would be interesting scenario for sure :) But i removed them for now to not confuse ppl about already confusing situation that is them not being mentioned in the blog.
If you have time and taste for it, i say go and make a great guide! Even just putting the words down give you something back already, it's like going through your replay, you write down how a deck should be played and you might realize you sometimes miss a step here and there and this could remind you to do it corectly :)
Very good analysis! I will add some thoughts on possible changes:
Mana Cyclone route seems good, but maybe not good enough. Feels like you would still have rather small amount of spells to really go out and i learned this myself playing some conjurers mage that not pairing the Cyclone turn with Elemental Evocation gives you so much less room to play out your turn. The 2 mana difference is a big deal. If you dont have it, you can never do the combo in the early to mid game, cause you will not get a good value out of that play.
Also, another thing i learned in a deck that aimed to generate card advantage through spells was that Dune Sculptor is an amazing -and very underrated- value generator. Can generate win conditions on his own: Kalecgos, Archmage Antonidas, Hex Lord Malacrass and so on. And not only that, a lot of mage minions are quite powerful in general.
A little pet-peeve to leave you with: for the love of the god, allign left or right, not left and right! My eyes! :D
There will be a "subscribe" option in the future for most of the content on the site and you will be able to get to it easilly and get notifications etc. Sadly, for now you only get notified when someone directly responds to your comment or if they respond in a thread/deck you yourself created. We know its not enough, but have to prioritize the work load. But be sure this will be a thing ;-)
For now, i suggest saving the deck's page into your browser's favourites and check it ever so often for new comments.

I think that Quest Plot Twist Warlock with Augmented Elekk, that will generate extra cards could be a proper home for Renounce Darkness. Should be fun to play!

These are just event bundles, expect exclusive skin for the preorder of the new xpac, id say.
Definitely a legendary from the next xpac. Hard to say if it will be a random golden legendary as with preorders or a specific one.
