Tomorrow is a launch day for Saviors of Uldum, which means another arena rotation will happen. Leave your arena run unfinished at maximum of two losses to get the rewards for current number of wins plus a Free Arena Ticket as a compensation for your retired run.
Dont leave this for last second tho, ideally start your run several hours before the launch (August 6, 1pm ET, 7pm CEST), since prior to launch, arena entries are disabled.
Play out your run to x-2, if you want more rewards from your run, or just leave it at 0-0 if you dont want to spend time playing it out.
Now, due to a mess up on August 1, where arena rotation kinda happened, only SoU wasnt included yet and some ppl got their runs retired (and got the ticket - i did) and some ppl didnt, it is a bit unclear, if we would get a ticket again. But as always, Blizzard cant really afford to retire runs and give no compensation, so i believe you are safe to do this "trick" regardless.
New arena rotation will include following sets:
Basic
Classic
League of Explorers
Journey to Un'Goro
Kobolds & Catacombs
Rastakhan's Rumble
Saviors of Uldum
Friendly Neighborhood Gladiator: if you plan on leaving the arena at 0-0, might as well play two games and concede to two players getting some positive karma :) You will get the same rewards for 0-0 and 0-2.
Is there any possible strategy to maximise the profit? Is a 2-2 run better to be saved for the reset then a 7-2 for example? Both have Pros and cons...
Probably not worth the thought but how do you approach it?
I tried to mathematicly solve this but it‘s more complexe then i thought. Guessed winrate, average profit per win and stuff
The most important factor is time investment. Everything else is secondary.
Then it kinda depends on how well you do in arena on average, if you are casual player and average 3 wins, staying at 2-2 is probably a good bet, since you dont want to end up 2-3 and having to pay for another run ... unless you would play that next run anyway.
If you average higher and you know the deck you have is pretty decent but you just had some bad luck, iv had many 12-2 that started as 0-2s or 2-2s for example, so then it might be worth playing it out a bit more.
We shall see, at the very least, highlander decks can potentially become huge next year when BDP rotates out :) I know that is not what players want to hear right now, but having these cards open up possibilities in the future.
There should be another arena reset despite the recent fuck up, since they will add Saviors of Uldum to the mix. Rotation happened August 1, but without SoU, so there should be another reset. It is a bit of a mystery due to the fuck up, but i believe there will be a proper reset tomorrow.
So yes, start your arena run and either leave it be or play it until 2 losses to maximize your rewards. When the reset happens, your arena run will be retired and you will receive rewards for the current number of wins you got, plus an Arena Ticket to redeem as a free entry to play another arena run.
So why we do this, you pay 150g > you get a free ticket (so you get your 150g back) > your net worth is the rewards from the retired run, which is a pack plus some gold/dust.
Reborn minion is a fresh copy with 1 Health remaining, so it will reset any buff / debuffs the original had. If you have Crystal Core active, it will probably come back as a 4/4.
And yes, SoJ or Amet should affect reborn minions, pretty much everything that interacts with summoning minions, not just playing them.
I guess the only question is how will Crystal Core affect the outcomes. If the minion's stats are first changed to 4/4 and then the "debuff" to lower the health is applied, or if it is the other way around, or if first a minion is summoned, then buffed with SoJ and then changed to 4/4 stats (dont think this will be the case, but who knows).
We are sorry, but we are not supporting Internet Explorer on OOC and there are no plans to do so in the future. If any functionality is broken there, we will not be fixing that. Please use a different browser. Thanks for understanding.
Seems like it can fit into Big Priest easilly. Speaking of, i wonder how will Reborn minions count towards Diamond Spellstone, would Reborn and non-Reborn copy be considered a unique minion?:o Probably not i guess.
Cute deck. I picked Blubber Baron few times in arena, when there was literally no better options, you can imagine it wasnt very good :D But it is a fun card, thats for sure.
Are you sure about this? Since the rotation already happened... i
They messed up, some runs were retired, some werent. But SoU still needs to be added, so there should be another reset at least because of that. So i would advise you to leave a run unfinished to get the ticket.
This topic serves as an information hub about the current (and past) Arena rotation.
With the first expansion in Year of the Dragon, Rise of Shadows, rotating drafting pool for Arena was introduced. Card sets are selected from both Standard and Wild. Prior to this, Arena was using Standard-only drafting pool. Now drafting pool for Arena changes every few months.

I think we might eventually get something like "trinkets", that can either have passive aura-like effects or be something like a second hero power. Unless the development of 0-attack weapons continues and keeps that part of design in this area.
add buldings: iv seen several ppl in the past trying to implement building type card into the HS and i dont think iv ever liked any variation of what i saw. My biggest strife with such a design is the inability to interact with "gathering resources" from the other player's side. It was usually understated minions or overcosted spells that were supposed to provide resources (wood) for the tempo loss. But the opponent could never interact with that part of the play, nor did the game mechanics. You would just play out your cards, get enough resources and then when you had enough, played the structure card and reap the benefits. That is a very one dimensional playstyle with zero interaction from the other side of the board that just seems wrong to me.
Not to mention that introducing a new card type will probably have to be done for all 9 classes at once. Even if it didnt have to be like that from game mechanics or balance standpoint, i dont think community would survive that and there would be too much of an outcry.
With that said, it is not easy to come up with something new you can casually implement for every class. I believe HS is far from reaching its full potential or running out of ideas, but given the fact how the game is structured - and lets not forget about the catering to the mobile client above many things - designing new, meaningful card types that would make sense and were possible to implement throughout the entire spectrum is no easy task.
Hi, Jagu, yes iv won one of the previous giveaways simply by chance. I threw my hat in the ring, same as anyone else and had like 0,5% of winning or something. I was just one of many and lady luck smiled on me. There was nothing goin on in the background and no preferential treatment.
Winners of giveaways were always publicly announced in the past and this time it will be no different. The contact via PM/email is for obvious reasons, to get their info where to send the reward.
We do apologize that it is taking us this long to draw the winners and announce it, i agree we should have at least let you guys know that there would be a delay. It wasnt handled ideally and we r sorry for that. Hopefully we can get it resolved asap to everyone's satisfaction.
Since there is a card back for pre-ordering the PVE content, and as Enk said, one of the devs already mentioned that it will follow the same format as RoS, i think we can pretty much expect a very similar setting to Dalaran Heist.

Probably Warrior and Warlock for me, since none of the decks that would include them interest me.
No trouble at all ;-)

I wonder how long did this take :D
There is currently no way to hide any text in the post.
Technically, sure :) There were many jokes at the time about attacking with said building when you silence it :)

Moved to Class Discussion/Shaman.
