Would not have known that ever as I stopped playing WoW since before Warlords and have never read any of the comics. Also, going through WoWpedia and others, no mention of this back story anywhere! Thanks!
You might be on to something... Maybe Valeera or some SI agent gives him some training after he is rescued from Onyxia? So that he won't feel so helpless if he is attacked or abducted again?
I almost made a forum post last night very similar to this article. Basically I was analyzing my own gold earned over the course of the expansion so far and how much more I expect to earn over the course of the expansion based on my current level of progress. It all kind of depends on when the track resets, but I was thinking I may end with about 12,900 gold. That's with low roll quests only, and about 2000 (maybe 2400, can't remember) of that being left over from last expansion still. Some of that MIGHT get spent on mini set, but I also have 26 packs from rewards sitting in my inventory so not sure.
Anyway, my usual total gold on the old system was about 8,000 to 9,000. So earning about 10,500 this cycle is a positive gain for me. But again, I'm calculating that amount figuring only low roll quests AND I'm not factoring time played XP either. And I'm seeing that increase WITHOUT buying the Pass and without a noticeable change in my playing time.
While I still think the system needs a little more tweaking to make the game more affordable, it ultimately is showing to be an improvement (at least in my own, personal experience). I am also encouraged by the quick response from Team 5 to make improvements, and the fact that they are looking into ways to continually improve the system.
Weird that the Replay doesn't recognize that, but I guess it's because it technically changes in hand and your replay only recognizes opponent's cards when revealed.
OP, if you are ever curious about something weird like that in the future, hover over the history tile on the left of the board, should say "Created by" and whatever minion or card it came from. In this case, would have said "Created by Bandersmosh"
I'm personally just going to keep him, but I have also played a lot more Wild in the past year than Standard. He's not particularly good in Wild, but we're also supposed to get another new game mode this expansion cycle. You never know, he may be a good viable option in that mode. I know I can always recraft later but... meh! I'm lazy!
Okay, I haven't played much Rogue in a while. But I picked the Valeera portrait so I wanted to play some today. Just picked a Stealth Rogue list and went a quick 7-0!
Guys... I think that the Rogue Nightslayer armor set that Valeera has in her new portrait might be OP! :)
In WarCraft 3 his model is also holding a book. I'm not sure lore wise what type of tome he is holding onto, but I think it must give him more power/a stronger connection to the Light. Or something.
That’s where I am too. Breezed through the first several fights, failed a couple times at that fight, then my son woke from his nap and I had to put it on pause.
Figure I want to try and control the board to utilize my hero power. Was trying to not trade my minions if I didn’t have to, which keeps minions on board for me. Might be where my mistake is as it allows more board development on the other side, then the damage spirals out if control. Maybe I need to get board and THEN smash the button each turn instead of trying to smash it right away
I was between Valeera and Illidan because both look nice to me and I have favorites in the other classes that I like to use.
Ultimately I chose Valeera because when I hit 1000 wins with Illidan (still way off) I know I’m only ever going to use the Demonic Illidan portrait anyway.
Anyone else sitting on packs waiting for this? I already unpacked or crafted most of what I want from Darkmoon Faire, so my 12 packs or so from special quests (plus the warrior pack from Garrosh's story) are going to net me most of the mini-set, I hope.
I have 26 Darkmoon packs waiting to go. I'm also sitting on my lvl 25 Legendary reward as I'm pretty sure it only awards Darkmoon legendaries, and I have them all. So if I claim it now I'll just get a regular copy of Yogg (was my golden from pre-order).
As a side note, I also have 18 Classic packs as I'm letting them build up until the set rework. It might not happen for another year or so, but I think I'm only missing one or two copies of some epics in the set. If I need them, I can craft them. And I doubt I'll need another copy of [Hearthstone Card (Barrens Stablehand) Not Found]... (actually it's Icicle and Bane of Doom that I still only have 1 copy of). So opening them now would be a waste.
But I think that's actually why I'm most anxious for the mini set release. Having these unopened packs and the unclaimed reward puts the red number and red ! up on my UI, and it bugs me! I'm a bit OCD at times... but in a good way, I think. Sitting on these Classic packs actually took a lot of effort at first, but I've suppressed my desire to open them immediately.
Makes sense. Perhaps they will start giving us a little preview of the new cards soon. Or since it's only 35 maybe they will wait until a few days before the release of the cards to do a stream.
I've scrolled through their twitter account and they advertice the game as "a TCG and board game combination" - that sounds reeeeeally cool!
Duelyst was a similar style of cards plus board game style pieces and movements. I liked it but just couldn't find the time, and now it's dead. Maybe this will be better and last a while

Great analysis though!
As someone who played WoW only casually, and not since Pandaria, these little lore back stories are very cool! Love it!

Sooooo... Rotating Core Set?!?!
But my achieves!!! My exclusivity!!!
Just kidding, I don’t care!

Guessing no one asked about the mysterious new game mode that is on the road map for this expansion cycle.

No! He’s going with that Lawbringer Uther who is so strong he’s reading a book while kicking ass

Are you saying that because he’s holding a book? Just like in his original and Lightforged portraits?
In the Lawbringer portrait for reaching lvl 50 on the rewards track his book is even open!
Uther’s WC3 model also has a tome in his left hand at all times. Uther without a book would actually be weird...
He’s always had a book in his hand when using Uther in HS. Unless you are using Horseman Uther or change into DK Uther.
Take a closer look at his other portraits.

Anyone rumors yet about when the fabled Darkmoon mini set is likely to come out? Or at least when it’ll be revealed?
Hoping sometime soon we’ll get a reveal with a release in like 2 weeks, but who knows!
