Is it just me or does anyone else think the Uther design should have been used for either Shaman, Rogue, or Druid?! I’m sure the history of the kingdom his outfit represents is maybe more in line with Paladins or something, but the color scheme of the armor looks like it belongs to a “Jade” class
If a player is hoarding currency is generally means the decision around buying something is too difficult or there is nothing compelling to buy. Both make me :(
Um... what?!?!
First part: Too difficult to decide what to spend my hoarded currency on?! No. I've already decided. I'm spending it on the next expansion!
Statement overall: Makes me feel like Dean is trying to say we should not be hoarding gold and dust, but just spending it recklessly. And if we don't do that we are making him feel sad. He may as well have just come out and said "Don't save your gold or dust! Just spend real money to get cards!" I know they need to make real money, and believe me I am usually one of the people giving it to them 3x a year, but this statement just irks me a bit. As if they either don't get how or why people would budget their gold, or they are trying to guilt people into not hoarding resources and just blowing it all.
I think the exact wording was more that Hall of Fame would not exist in it's current form, but I could be mistaken. Maybe they are planning on using it more as a "place holder set" for Classic and Basic cards as they move things in and out of Standard.
If that's true I'm going to be sad about dusting him after they said he'd be rotating. I mean... why keep him if all I could do was play weak versions of Standard decks in Wild? If he's permanently Standard though, I'd craft him golden. Maybe... We'll see
No gamemode got a dedicated Hearthside chat so far, that's why I wrote "100% animated"
But they are also very likely to at least announce the next expansion name/theme at this event. Since Darkmoon was released early, it's possible they could release the next set and start the new year any time after mid-March, or about a month after BlizzcOnline. So I guess my thoughts were this is likely the expansion announcement.
But also, no other new game modes got a dedicated Hearthside Chat, but they also weren't announced during an event like BlizzcOnline. So it is completely possible they could do something cheesy like this to talk about the new mode. However, I still believe the attire they are wearing has more to do with the expansion theme than with a new mode.
I’ve avoided buying any BoH bundles, but this SI7 Anduin skin is calling me...
I was wondering, if I buy the bundle and wait until the new year to open would they give me cards from 2021 exp 1? Or do you think they will only give from Year of the Dragon/Phoenix cards since that’s the standard year right now
The attire is likely more to do with the locale than the overall theme of the year.
For some reason I was thinking Silithus? Not sure if the color scheme matches, but what if the next expansion revolves around Silithus and a type of “gold rush” to claim the Azerite emerging after Sargeras stabbed his sword into the world.
EDIT: The more I think about it, the bridge having those little horns where the ropes meet are screaming Tauren expansion. Could they be standing on one of Thunder Bluff’s many rope bridges with the mountains in the background?
Perhaps it’ll be something themed around Tauren tribes and an internal plot by one group to take power?
I mean I just want another Rogue skin that's not Valeera.
I’m not an Anything Main, as I play all classes and just play whatever is fun to me at the time. But yeah, Rogue is the most ignored class in terms of skins. They have the same number as DH, which got their first alt skin a month or two into existence.
That said, the Nightslayer Valeera is pretty dope! I love using that skin. I’ve been playing more Rogue since I got that one just because it’s so nice!
I also thought that was odd first time I noticed that interaction. But it’s been that way since the set launched so I assume it’s as intended, or if not intended they think it’s okay leaving it as is
“Battlecry: Create a Murkalgam equal cost to your remaining mana crystals.”
How it works: It’s an Amalgam or “All” tribe creature that is similar to zombeasts. But instead of choosing two beasts that cost 5 or less, you have a wider assortment of effects.
To ensure Blizz isn’t constantly updating this each release like Deathstalker Rexxar, perhaps the cards can just include 3 to 4 options at each cost level (similar to Kazakus) so there is a set number of creatures you can make. What those options look like, no idea. Just coming up with this on the fly.
Trying to figure out the list, but I am playing around with Neferset Thrasher and Treachery to see how it might still be possible to use Hysteria in a Tiller style OTK. Ultimately I've got the idea down:
Emperor Thaurissan to discount at a minimum 3 cards that don't start off costing 0. That makes the combo at most 10 mana. If you hit all cards involved with a one mana discount, it should be 8 mana.
If you can pull it off, Thrasher takes 2 damage the one time it hits the Deathspeaker, and then goes through a loop of hitting the immune Dummy and dealing 3 to the opponent, a grand total of 90 damage. Pulled it off first try against the Innkeeper, but having a lot more difficulty against real players with actual meta decks. Came very close against a Control C'Thun Lock, but he got a luck Dirty Rat on my Emperor, followed by a lucky Cascading Disaster that was not corrupted, and the one minion it removed was Thaurissan. If he had survived or not been the minion pulled from hand I would have gotten it off in a live game.
Just from the one time I made it work against Innkeeper the combo is hilariously fun. But it's also very hard to pull off, and extremely frustrating. Since you can't make the Neferest immune and then Treachery + Hysteria on it, the board basically needs to be clear or have no more than 4 combined attack from all minions other than Thrasher.
Ultimately, don't try this one out unless you are a super smart deck builder (which I am not) and you can figure out the best possible list to go along with it. I'm mostly just playing a lot of card draw, much of which has self damaging effects too, so Darkglare it in there to help me gain more mana and keep cycling as fast as possible. But I'm not built like the normal Darkglare Warlocks so it's hard to keep the board and stay alive.
My gold has been significantly increased, so I sincerely don't know what you're talking about.
My gold has also gone up a lot, but that's AFTER the changes that JoshoPrime is mentioning. If you look at the quote Psymon used, it seems based on that quote that they underestimate the value that gold accumulation has for most players. Instead they wanted to "remove that layer of decision making" so players didn't have to think about what packs to buy, as Blizzard decided for us and then had those packs as rewards
So what JoshoPrime is trying to say is that it's odd Dean is still saying that he sees the pack reward approach as the better option, even after they had to adjust the Tavern Pass early on due to people being upset that they were being given packs rather than just the gold. And that backlash came because most players would rather not have their gold accumulation reduced. Instead we want the gold so we can save it up and use it however we see best for our collections.

Decided to just play Twin Slice. Beat a priest with Forbidden Shaping first try. Done!
I would love this skin, but doubt I would ever use it. At least not for a Priest deck. It just doesn’t feel right.
I'm 100% down with any idea that would add Pandaran or Tauren hero portraits, regardless of class!

All their trailers are animated. But their chats or announcement videos often feature stuff like this

Arguably the best Cloneball duo to ever play the game together.

What I imagine Dr Murkstein to be as minion:
Neutral legendary, 2 mana 2/3.
“Battlecry: Create a Murkalgam equal cost to your remaining mana crystals.”

Or if you use any deck tracker it’ll probably be saved there already.
It never alerted me of the nerf like usual, but the card was/is disenchantable for full value (looking on PC)
Was starting to wonder if it was just me who hadn’t seen it come down.
