Another really good DH card, in my opinion! Playing this on turn 4 with Skull of Gul'dan on the left-most spot in your hand basically un-nerfs the card for turn 5, or gives you an option that can be immediately played from the right-most position if needed!
Already starting to wonder if they end up nerfing Shenanigans to transform the third card drawn a turn. If it seems crazy broken I'm assuming that is the change it will receive. Also, if it is played in every Rogue deck, SI:7 Infiltrator may finally see some play. At least in decks that have combos or specific minions for their win condition (ex: Tickatus, or C'Thun, the Shattered pieces)
I'd say this is more like a conditional double Arcane Explosion. That's because Immolation Aura hits your own board, while this doesn't.
Good catch. I missed the "enemy minions" part. Actually makes this much better as it's literally Arcane Explosion like you said, but with a possible upside
If I'm reading this correctly, wouldn't Circle of Healing become a 0 mana +2 Health to the board? Wouldn't be the horrible but this could be a card that may not see play but there could be cool synergies down the line.
You're probably correct. Would be weird if the minion actually has to be healed to get the health buff, but who knows. Hearthstone mechanics can be weird some times
Looking at the list of dual class spells, it's a much better card having Discover rather than random. That small difference may have actually taken this card from fringe to playable. Still... there are just enough situational cards that you could potentially whiff. For example, if I decided to run this in Stealth Rogue and got Guardian Animals, Commencement, and Felosophy as my discover options would be a disaster. But seeing as those are the only three I would absolutely not want in that deck, so 15/18 are at least usable choices in that example deck so the chance of not getting at least an okay card is small.
This looks like a lot of fun! Doesn't fit in the current top Warlock deck though (or does it?) so we'll have to see a new archetype over take it. Which I'm fine with Darkglare ZooLock going away.
" Murgurgle Prime is basically a dead draw as in any deck that runs this, it'll likely be an 8 mana 6/3 with Divine Shield and nothing else."
Ummmm... What?! This comment from Demonxz95 makes me feel like he thinks Murgurgle Prime summons friendly murlocs that have died this game. But it's random murlocs, even sometimes more Murgur Murgurgles. So this is definitely NOT a dead draw.
Really though, much like Immolation Aura this card being good or bad will depend on the meta. Lots of small token decks, or decks with small minions?! Could be great! With how many Darkglare Locks I've been seeing lately maybe something like this could see play.
I can't really remember Void Ripper every being widely used, but perhaps in some builds of Wall Priest during it's short-lived time in the Rastakhan's meta. Basically you had to pray your big taunts would stick either naturally or when resurrected, maybe heal them back up with Circle of Healing and/or Divine Hymn on your next turn, then Ripper to flip their stats and get a big burst turn. Again, not sure how common that was but that's the only thing I can think of where it might have been used.
Although, while typing this I just thought of a Hunter OTK in Wild you could use it for. If you can survive long enough you can set it up over two turns or get double discounts on three cards with Emperor Thaurissan and Drakkari Enchanter turn 9 for a turn 10 OTK.
But the combo would need an empty board (if you use Ripper). But the combo is Boommaster Flark (which is what you could set up for a TTK instead of an OTK), followed by either Necromechanic or Baron Rivendare, Feign Death, and either a second Feign or a Ripper to flip your [Hearthstone Card (Goblin Bombs to 2/0, dying and triggering twice again. This would be 32 damage to the opponent in one or two turns depending on how you pull it off.
Because right now Priest can cheat out something like a Scrapyard Colossus, you kill it, then next turn they cast a few spells and resurrect 3 copies of 1 dead minion. But with an actual Graveyard, if only one Colossus is in the Graveyard and they cast 2 Resurrects and an Eternal Servitude, they’d find nothing pops up after the first Resurrect. Because once that one Colossus comes back to life, the Graveyard is empty.
So it takes away their infinite army of the dead by resurrecting actual dead minions, not infinite copies of dead minions.
MtG uses this mechanic, and takes it a step further having an Exile mechanic. When Exiled a card doesn’t go to the graveyard. It’s just gone! I think resurrected creatures in MtG get exiled when they are removed a second time too.
I think new game mode for this exp cycle is the new version of standard with rotating availability of sets/cards. Current standard will still exist as “Classic” mode so people can still play the way they do now if new standard mode is a failure.
Would not have known that ever as I stopped playing WoW since before Warlords and have never read any of the comics. Also, going through WoWpedia and others, no mention of this back story anywhere! Thanks!
You might be on to something... Maybe Valeera or some SI agent gives him some training after he is rescued from Onyxia? So that he won't feel so helpless if he is attacked or abducted again?
I almost made a forum post last night very similar to this article. Basically I was analyzing my own gold earned over the course of the expansion so far and how much more I expect to earn over the course of the expansion based on my current level of progress. It all kind of depends on when the track resets, but I was thinking I may end with about 12,900 gold. That's with low roll quests only, and about 2000 (maybe 2400, can't remember) of that being left over from last expansion still. Some of that MIGHT get spent on mini set, but I also have 26 packs from rewards sitting in my inventory so not sure.
Anyway, my usual total gold on the old system was about 8,000 to 9,000. So earning about 10,500 this cycle is a positive gain for me. But again, I'm calculating that amount figuring only low roll quests AND I'm not factoring time played XP either. And I'm seeing that increase WITHOUT buying the Pass and without a noticeable change in my playing time.
While I still think the system needs a little more tweaking to make the game more affordable, it ultimately is showing to be an improvement (at least in my own, personal experience). I am also encouraged by the quick response from Team 5 to make improvements, and the fact that they are looking into ways to continually improve the system.
Weird that the Replay doesn't recognize that, but I guess it's because it technically changes in hand and your replay only recognizes opponent's cards when revealed.
OP, if you are ever curious about something weird like that in the future, hover over the history tile on the left of the board, should say "Created by" and whatever minion or card it came from. In this case, would have said "Created by Bandersmosh"

Need late game healing and board clear?! Reliquary Prime plus this creates a smaller, healing version of Deathwing, Mad Aspect!!!

We'll stop pointing that up when Avalon eats a shoe!!!

A conditional Immolation Aura... awesome.

Which now I want to try! :)

Maybe not the best, but still my favorite deck for this Brawl! I mean, when else can you play Wailing Soul unironically?!?!

Great analysis though!
As someone who played WoW only casually, and not since Pandaria, these little lore back stories are very cool! Love it!
