Team5 has said they work with the idea that every card they design now should at least be playable. And meta depending, this is. It’s not the type of card that’ll automatically see play, but as a tech card if taunt filled control decks popped up, this could win by clearing a taunt or three like I mentioned.
Are there still better options?! Probably! But it’ll likely get played by someone at some point. But not necessarily be a staple in a meta deck(s).
I’m guessing no. Spell effects like Aluneth will summon you a minion of the total cost you paid, not the card’s actual cost. Could be wrong but I believe the price you are paying dictates its trigger if it’s larger
I know they won't, but imagine if they added a few cards that buff C'Thun's stats, like the in Whispers. And then imagine that in Wild those worked with both C'Thun, the Shattered and C'Thun!
I’ll be way too slow to work, but part of me wants to do a Double C’Thun Shudderwock Combo... with double battlecries on Shudder... Is that wrong of me?! Maybe!
I don’t know... 10 mana 1/1 is a meme for sure, but 10 mana “remove three enemy minions” could be a big deal in the late game! I’m not judging this little guy until I see it in action. And not until I get my hands on a Holy Hand Grenade!!!
My guess is the only retroactive stuff will be Collection based, or overall wins for a class... The 12 wins in Arena is completing a 12-0 run, and the game doesn't really keep track of whether your past 12 win keys were 12-0, 12-1, or 12-2.
Honestly, if the xp can be earned quick enough without the pass then I think it's mainly a buy for those that want the cosmetics. I may skip it the first time, or at least wait a month to see how my progression is going before I even consider buying the pass.
I think what it's really going to come down to is how fast each level can be obtained. Sure we can get an additional 150 gold for each level after 50, but are those levels going to take dramatically longer each level? If it's not too bad and you can earn a level a day, even after 50, I'd say this is at least on par if not better than the old system.
I don't think we know that yet, but a good question to ask really. I'm still just trying to find out, do we get gold with each level 1-50 as well? It says "Gold, gold, and more gold" in the article, but I don't see anything to say how much per level other than the 150/lvl after lvl 50.
EDIT: But to answer the first half your question, it sounds like we get to choose the hero we want, yes. Which is smart since they probably know some people only play certain classes. No use awarding a Shaman portrait to someone who only plays Mage and Warlock.
My take aways from this article: It’s a great time to play Hearthstone if you enjoy playing as Paladin or Hunter!
Maybe I’m just getting bad matchups or bad draws when I tried the Highlander list in this article (or similar), but I’ve had better luck with my Pre-SA Highlander Hunter lately than the current variation.
Congrats on the Legend. I hit it the first time back in September and was playing at launch. Got mine with Even Shaman, but Odd Mage is also a favorite of mine! Been running a list slightly different from this, but might give yours a try.
Been having success with Odd Hunter and minions that either have beneficial deathrattles, or battlecries to summon other minions. A few spells for burst.
REMINDER: In addition to the information above you will likely want to have an ACTIVE Arena run going when Hallow's End begins. Seeing as they are warning players about the arrival of the event in Arena, this means we'll see all active runs forced to end, and you'll get rewards AND a free Arena ticket. So sometime between now and then, start and Arena run, get to 2 losses and STOP!
The same should also be true for the end of the Seasonal event as well.
They are still chugging along on their Marvel licensed title. No idea what the project is; haven’t had any game updates in a while. But occasionally see announcements of staff they’ve added. So I assume either the Marvel game or some other title are still being worked on

Closest to a 12-0 that I've gotten was 12-0 AFTER losing my first two games... so 0-2 turned into 12-2. Does that count?! Please?!?! LOL
