Judging by the power of Mana Cyclone, this card will be powerful and versatile. My prediction is that it'll become a staple. Of course, you wouldn't want to draw this early ;)
Awesome artwork
Does this mean every class is getting a legendary spell? Exciting if so.
Honestly tired of the RNG/Casino Mage playstyle being supported. I'd like to go back to having a coherent plan that remains consistent from game to game...like Elementals, or Dragons.
soo a mage card that depends on RNG. Instant 5 Star card. extremely flexible card that can go into any deck. (Definitely will try to use this in some Raid the Sky Temple Mage deck, maybe with Sorcerer's Apprentice and Chenvaala)
Also as a 1 mana card this will be generated through so many cards, like: Magic Trick, Mana Cyclone, Cobalt Spellkin & so many more. Imagine casting this from The Amazing Reno into lethal... I foresee that this card will generate quite a bit of salt.
Looks like Ashes of Outland will be another high power level set, just like Descent of Dragons. This will be an interesting rotation/start of the year of the Phoenix.
Mountain Giant died for this.
F
Millhouse's worst nightmare
Btw, why not call this card "Tome of the Netherstorm" or something like that?
Mages need more books!
oboy are we going to get discard mage synergy?
I can see it now, 1st time I cast this, Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron, Pyroblast, Power of Creation,Luna's Pocket Galaxy...
Wild quest mage aproves of this spell
Holy shit..
This card can either make it to become the best mage card next expansion, or be absolute trash, depending entirely on pure RNG. I can see tempo mage making a comeback. Make it to turn 7-8 (tempo mage shouldnt have gas to last this long), play 1x Sorcerer's Apprentice + Evocation and get a full reload of spells albeit for one turn only. There's plenty of cheap spells in the pool to ensure some success.
It may be RNG, but its all packed into one card, and in many respects its much better than Raid the Sky Temple, and more flexible in terms of deck building than Mana Cyclone. I like it.
Generated by:
Mana Cyclone, Raid the Sky Temple, Magic Trick, Tome of Intellect,...
Did I miss any?
Cobalt Spellkin
the card is really good but i'm disappointed, i was hoping something related to elementals or freeze :(
It's a bit like hunter's Tracking. Need to find a board clear / direct dmg / something else - use this card.
Very versatile card - which makes it really strong.
I'm guessing it will become staple mage card.
Something else worth noting here is that if you can fire Evocation off with some way of making spells cheaper (Sorcerer's Apprentice and/or Kael'thas Sunstrider), this is a very easy way to complete Raid the Sky Temple. Right now that hero power is generally outclassed for archetypes that want to control the game and win via infinite resource generation, but a rotation could help tremendously with that.
actually the problem with Raid the Sky Temple is the fact that it doesn't really fit into any particular deck and the Quest makes you start with one less card for very little payoff.
Completing the quest was never the issue.
