Today is the replacement for what would normally be the reveals at BlizzCon since Blizzard's huge event has been postponed until February. It might be a little bit earlier than normal to hear about the new expansion, but with it only being a week or two earlier, it made more sense to announce the expansion earlier alongside the new game mode to make for one big event. Who knows, we may even get to play the new mode today since there is a client patch confirmed!
Read on for all our coverage on today's event. We'll have dedicated posts and guides afterward that discuss everything in more detail as well, so stay tuned for that.

YOGGERS POGGERS BABY. I think this might become the first card to be banned in tournaments because no matter which way you put it, Rod of Roasting is stupid. However it just looks like SO MUCH FUN, that I am willing to close my eyes for now.
while rod of roasting is a WILD time, you do have to play ten spells before hand, and then you only have a 5% chance to roll that, so this yogg is less splashable than the old yogg. But oh boy tournaments are gonna be fun with yogg around.
I don't think a 5% chance to flip a coin for who wins the match is going to affect the tournament meta in the slightest.
I know it's a lot, but please hurry up so we can discuss each card on it's own page. Thanks.
Silas is a neutral treachery.
Prepare for many stupid decks.
looks like I'll have to buy Naxxramas and get those cards if I wanna compete in the Duels
Also did I miss any info on the pre-order? have they said if there's a new hero portrait or not?
The 80-pack preorder has a super dope Warlock skin
well I guess if it's a cool Warlock skin...but I was hoping for a new Rogue hero portrait...
There is one. The level 50 reward of the new achievement system let's you choose a skin. There is one for each class, including rogue
I know but I was hoping for a new character and not just "valeera No. 2"
There is a mistake in this sentence:
"You can reroll weekly quests (1 per week)"
It think he said that you can reroll weekly quests 1 per day like regular quests
Minisets are concerning. What's the right thing to do? Spend your gold on packs at the start of the expansion, or wait until midway through when the full set is actually available?
I mean, it seems pretty clear what Blizzard's goal is: "you will give us lots of money up front, and lots more money later." Sure, they're a company, this sort of thing is what companies do... But I know that lots of players have been complaining about the price of playing this game. Feels like they decided to, uhh, not back down in that regard.
With the no duplicate rule in place, it is probably best to spend most of the gold at the start, and keep a bit back for the mini expansion. That way you can easily get the commons and rares efficiently. The higher rarity cards might not be worth overthinking it for, since whales are the only people who really get all of them anyway.
How much more expensive it all ends up is difficult to say until we've tried out the battle pass.
Interesting.
Would love to see the whole progression path to see how much gold it amounts to. And of course quite how much you need to play to get the XP to get to the end.
I was under the impression we could reroll weekly quests once per day also. I might have misheard that in the Frodan interview.
A lot of people loved dungeon runs, and although I was hoping for a constructed mode with shifting rules (sets, deck building constraints etc) this dungeon run PVP mode looks like it could be fun.
Would be nice if they enabled old adventures (needed for this new mode) for gold instead on real money - especially for newer players who won't have them.
Achievements? NICE!
Whelp, I dusted most Naxx & Karazhan cards years back. I guess I'll see y'all come Season 1 of Duels lol.
Hopefully Hearthstone converts all Arena Tickets to Tavern Tickets as I still have 2 tickets. If so then I'll use 1 to try Heroic Duels 1 time.
Good news for you; they are allowing Arena tickets to be used on Duels!
Old gods? OMG, the theme that make me comeback to HS, maybe they keep me playing
Dungeon Run PVP that uses your collection PogChamp
Oh dear. There goes my fight against another Pre Order. This is looking pretty damn good
So basically the same season pass as magic arena.
Some of the things said adds more to my theory that the channel Hearthstone Mathematics is run by blizzard or the devs.
