ANOTHER GNOLL TO MY COLLECTION
A way more balanced Aluneth for secret mage in standard
Me when seeing even more secret mage support: Thanks! I hate it.
Sorry but I really hate secret/tempo mage. Easily my most hated deck in existence. I play mostly wild as well so if secret mage becomes (even more) popular in wild I will probably just stick to battlegrounds.
Just relish in the thought that somewhere there is someone out there who hates another archetype getting good card too :D
I'm not a mage player... It's worth to play that? Looks like mage doesn't have draw problems. The card is good, draw cards is a strong mechanic but, Mage needs that?
If this flavor text doesn't reference Ozzy Osbourne's "bark at the moon" I'll be disappointed
Nope, flavor text is "There are no secrets between us... or refunds."
Yeah I saw, I was just hoping for something like "bark at the darkmoon"
but it's still good
So this card can usually draw somewhere around 3 cards, 5 at very best. Considering Rigged Faire Game already gives out 3 cards if triggered, mage is starting to feel like the premiere draw class now. If aggro secret mage comes back to standard, then this one might just squeeze into the list, if only because it plays the same function as Aluneth did.
DEAN!! stop supporting secret mage for standard too
Wow, a legendary card! What's the effect?
... Battlecry: draw.
SUCH DESIGN
Card design =/= making creative cards. Design can usually be defined as solving a problem.
In this case the Problem was: What's the payoff for triggering Secrets?
And the solution is: Give Secret mage something it usually struggles with: refilling its hand while not completely loosing tempo.
Thank you for such a useful clarification about something that was not the point of my argument!
Yuuuck. Aluneth. With a body. That doesn't kill you later in the game. I'm not looking forward to the Mage meta we're about the experience in Wild...again. Well, I say again, but it won't be quite that Mage heavy. Aside from Reno Mage, Secret Mage and now Quest Mage (which didn't exist in the last Mage meta) we'll also have Reno Priest to "spice" things up. Pretty much everything else will likely be rendered irrelevant by those decks unless some big support or new archetypes are coming.
I mean, in standard maybe. But in wild would you play this over Subject 9?
Sobject 9 and this are not comparable. Subject 9 is not used because Mage has plenty of ways to pull secrets from their deck (Mad Scientist, Arcanologist, Ancient Mysteries), what you want is access to the burn in your deck. Normally you use Aluneth and it draws you like 6-9 cards that you want, then starts killing you. If this draws you around 6 cards it's arguably better than Aluneth because of the body and much better tempo.
Over Subject 9, yeah, no doubt, the secrets come and go in secret mage, the card draw in general, not that much, this can get you your burn spells/minions, subject 9 can't.
Even with Rigged Faire Game? I don't play secret mage.
if talkign wild that card will see 0 us
not even off Arcane Keysmith? And this isn't reddit idk why you're downvoting people asking if something works in an archetype they don't play.............
