This excellent removal works well with Lord J. on turn 10
Good call. If a person has enough minions on the board, transitioning to Mr. J. won't take a two-turn set up anymore. Thanks for bringing this up.
i was skeptical at first but think of this as 1 mana give a minion rush AND poisonous, with potential upside/flexibility. this card is probably just insane
This will hopefully be a sweet looking gold card.
This is great, specially for Zoo! It can cheaply deal with Mage giants and leave you with enough mana to swing the game.
Will this card help Control Warlock to fix his biggest flaw (which is lack of tools to repel very aggressive decks like Murlock Shaman)? No, because it's simply too slow (it's like Hellfire but much less reliable). With no early removals, no reliable healing or armor gain and no solid taunts, Control Warlock is in my opinion still busted. Defile and Amethyst Spellstone were perfect tools for the job, this isn't.
This is very strong. It will probably be more valuable in an aggro deck than control i think.
Has some synergy with Impbalming in a control deck. Turn the worthless imps into deadly shots.
Pretty good with eggs
man, just toss some wimpy death rattles on the board, play this card and profit
Interesting design. This can be better than Defile in some situations as it is a confirm board clear. Plus, at 1 mana? Wowser! Very flexible.
Edit: After much thinking, this can actually combine with Rafaam's Scheme making it a 4 mana board clear. Plus, there's Jumbo Imp. This will be interesting to experiment.
Because all warlock card should have a negative effect this days, this card is absolutely useless. There is no archetype that would love this, control warlock do not have board and agro warlock probably does not need this also.
To anyone saying about Rafaam scheme is viable with this I wish best of luck. I have a deck with it and this card is abysmall, literally abysmall. It is overpriced and does almost nothing. So as a good removal I think it is terrible. Worse than Shriek for sure
Anyone who tries to compare this with Equality and Concec. I wanna remind you that this cards got some value on their own. Plague of Flames is literally unplayable. When you dont have a board and board generation and mage like uses Khadgar and makes 5-6 card board, you would need 6-7 minons generating spells.
Only question I have -why Warlock got this thing and why does it cost 1? Much more would prefer the removal having different downside but for 5 mana.
Even rogue got better plague. Warlock cards having to have the downside cost for powerful effect now does worse than any class having similar cards with no downside.
"Overpriced" 1 mana board clear? LOL
Dollmaster Dorian + Plot Twist, draw deathrattle minions that summons minions and draw Plague of Flames at same moment.
Play Plague of Flames, Clear the board, summon a board of minions for yourself.
It bugs me how this isn't truly symmetrical, but this can very easily be Twisting Nether for 1. Bundle 7 Unwilling Sacrifices together and severely reduce the mana cost? Seems good
[cardPlague of Flames is a nice card and it's clearly got a lot of Warlock flavor, but I'm not convinced it's all that good.
In combination with Rafaam's Scheme or Fiendish Circle it's frequently a 4 or 5 mana board clear. In most classes, a two-card board clear for 4 or 5 mana would compare pretty favorably to pre-nerf Equality + Consecration and you'd probably see it played, but Warlock has lots of good board clears already.
On top of the fact that Warlock already has lots of good single-card board clears, this combo relies on bad imp generating cards, and Rafaam's Scheme needs to be in your hand for a while before the combo can even be triggered. There are already a lot of potential synergies for these imp generating cards in the form of Jumbo Imp, Darkest Hour, and Demonbolt. None of that came together last expansion, and I'm not sure one extra board clear is going to make them good. Maybe you'll see a few games where this combo clears the board and enables you to play a cheap 8/8 Jumbo Imp, but banking on that seems like a bad idea.
I really don't get where those Jumbo Imp comments stem from... Did you really have a problem killing all your 1/1 imps before?
I just think of all the auto-concedes in Zoo that now, with a single copy of this, become playable again... That seems like a great way for Zoo to reclaim control of the board, just clear it all for 1 mana and proceed to dump the rest of your hand to rebuild your own board.
Will still never play Rafaam's Scheme, just dump lackeys, get the benefit of their battlecry and then use them as fodder to clear the board.
this card is so good! it is a freakin 1 mana mass-destroy spell! this card will be in all sorts of warlock decks and probably end up being nerfed. it makes it so easy for a aggro deck to get ahead when you have fallen behind, and think about how good this would be with mecha'thun.
This and Rafaam's Scheme or Fiendish Circle into Jumbo Imp? Could the Jumbo Imp actually beat Mountain Giant or Sea Giantin some decklists or become an addition?
pretty good, especially considering the amount of reborn minions we'll probably be ending up. You can use this with rafaam's scheme for basically 4-mana twisting nether (depending on how long you held it)
Same goes for Fiendish Circle
I wonder if there's a way to make some janky combo/control deck with Jumbo Imp work. You use imp summoning spells then kill them off or destroy them with this, then play Glinda and fill the board with Jumbos.
Unfortunately Jumbo imp needs to be in hand for that, but hey, Sense Demons exists, so maybe.
I mean, it's inconsistent, but Mage has shown that spamming a bunch of beefy boys is a valid strategy (against anything that isn't warrior)
