Blizzard has pushed a new bundle live into the Hearthstone shop this afternoon that gives you an easy way to add a couple of new Darkmoon Faire legendary cards to your collection.
The bundle is $20 USD and contains the following:
- 2 Random Legendary cards from Madness at the Darkmoon Faire.
- 20 Scholomance Academy packs
This is not only a solid boost to your collection if you're still missing cards from Scholomance Academy, but also one if you only care about the legendary cards. With a pack on average providing 102.71 arcane dust, the two legendary cards are worth just over 3200 dust or 32 packs, which is crazy good value for $20.
Are you picking up the bundle? Share with us your legendary gets in the comments below!

C'Thanks but N'Thanks. I have already invested in the Tavern Pass this expansion, and there aren't enough interesting legendaries in DF for me to want to try my luck.
Deinstalled the game on my phone and turned off the autostart, haven't logged in since the weekend (first time in... years despite vacation?).
I suppose there's only a few ways to show
- reasonably express your frustration on platforms that Blizzard might recognize (i.e. Twitter, Blizzard's very own forums, reddit?), underlying that with valid arguments
- don't spend further money on the game
- rate the app low while being reasonable again
- do not play at all, don't even start the client
*Blizzard makes cards more affordable*
Redditors: ‘Corporate greed!
I only ever fork up real money if there's some exclusive cosmetics.
I never prebuy and I will never buy the darn battlepass, but I bought this bundle for the value: got rewarded with Rifle and ETC, plus opened a golden Krastinov and Rattlegore, so won't complain!
Very surprised that this is my second Golden Leg in two weeks...makes me wonder is something going on with Blizz's RNG or are they feeling guilty?
I wish that they would maybe even give us half the packs from newest expansion.
I do not think this is a good value. I take the welcome bundle as their definition of value and based on that it should be $10.
I love everyone pretending like this is a new thing. They do this EVERY expansion - offer a bundle for the previous one. Only this time, it has two guaranteed current expansion legendaries - a serious improvement.
Be mad if you want to, but at least be accurate in your anger. This is not a new ploy, y'all.
I think the bundle itself is pretty good value if you consider it in a Hearthstone bubble (value in terms of Hearthstone has lost all meaning to me, £16.99 buys a top tier indie game!).
They have timed it very poorly though and it's a bit of a slap in the face when there is value related stuff to fix already.
Read the room, Blizzard.
This seems like a joke, and a very unfunny one, at that.
"Hey, we know we've been a little greedy with all our game desing, but hey! Now you can put more money in, get 2 legendaries from our current set, and 20 packs from an old set, for a FAIR price! We know that the prices we used till now are way off, but this one, this one is FAIR!"
Yeah... F'off.
I'm out of this game. It's hard (an expensive) to have a good competitive deck of the class that you are more comfy playing with, you revamp the reward system into a one that doesn't seems fair enough and also you are giving to us cards from previous expansion? I feel totally dumb giving Blizzard my money and having back this kind of treats, honestly. That deal will be a good one if it was offered 5 months ago, not now. Why I should waste my money on a different set thant the current one where is it supposed to be the current meta based on?
Scholomance has good cards to offer but most of the decks are made around new cards like the 4 old gods and corrupted ones. This kind of offers should be, if offered "out of time", at least with current year packs. Offering now scholomance packs is like offering Outlands one, can be interesting for some people but doesn't fit the current needs of the people. My feel (and I see that lots of people thinks the same) is that Hearthstone is runned by people that seems is no listening its customers.
I think that year of the phoenix is the last for me, that's the last straw. I totally loved this game and I expensed big amounts of money on this but every day I feel more and more playing in a pay2win game instead a free2play one.
I've been posting concerns both here and reddit (which I never used to post on before this debacle) since day 1 of rewards tracks release. Analysis, graphs and XP per hour calculations.
But whatever you think about the new rewards system and whatever the maths say, Hearthstone just doesn't feel as good as it used to.
Grinding for XP often with no feeling of progress some days, not even 10g for 3 wins (not that it was super good but it was something), no quest completion in Tavern Brawls and so much else - including broken promises (play your way/same gold for same effort).
I used to find it a fun, warm place to spend downtime. No longer. I've already given up my NA and Asia accounts. I hope they make changes to make the game feel good again or my remaining EU account will have to go to and I'd prefer the game too still be good and keep playing.
Let's hope they address these player concerns. Hearthstone is a great game and I'd like it to remain that way.
My two suggestions for improving the system would be bring back x gold for y wins. Could be 10 for 3 like before, or maybe 10 for 2, or even 5 for each win. Even if it caps at 100g like before it is still more potential gold.
Then, update the quests to either have more XP rewards, OR get a new daily quest every 12 hours. So essentially you’d get two/day.
These changes don’t seem like a lot, but they both push in a direction that they seemed interested in with the time based xp: rewarding players with higher engagement levels. If you play a lot you can get that extra gold each day for wins. Also the more frequent quest handouts means you need to put in a little more time each day to clear them both. So they can raise that metric while rewarding players.
Would this require a little balancing of the xp needed to progress the track? Maybe. But say they increased each level by 20%. You are still getting about double xp in my suggested 12 hours between daily quest handouts if you finish them all.
I just want to thank you for laying out your argument in a reasoned manner. Almost everyone is reacting with sarcasm at best, and inflammatory rhetoric at worst, and that doesn't help anyone.
You're welcome my friend - and thanks for your kind words. And I agree.
Many of us are so invested in the game, financially and emotionally that we can have strong feelings about changes to the game - especially if promises made were broken.
Nonetheless, I agree any backlash should strive to be as reasonable and constructive as possible. I've made a few posts tinged with sarcasm, but hopefully most of the things I've posted here and on reddit would qualify as analytical and reasonable. That's for others to judge I guess :)
I have to agree that playing hearthstone isn't as it once was. While its nice to know that a lost now isn't the end of the world, since both sides gets xp for it, you can go upwards to 7 wins a day and feel like nothing has changed.
I do expect some kind of response. The duels tournament fiasco should be enough to force blizz into one. Let's hope that they see sense and make some positive changes, and get back to the good graces of the community again (at least neutral if nothing else)
Maybe if it was Darkmoon Faire... But for Scholomance, no thanks.
This bundle is some really good value, but no c'thanks. Would have considered buying it IF blizzard treated us better. They rushed so hard to get this out, that they didn't spell "legendary" correcly in the bundles description... And this bundle came during the mess that is the duals tournament, and the chat was FULL of complaints about the pass and stuf... This bundle is HORRIBLY timed and truly shows that blizzard genuinly only cares about out money...
