Reminder: Mobile players are going to see this patch arrive a little later, usually 1-2 hours. This is always the case for mobile Hearthstone patches.
The nerfs that Blizzard announced yesterday are now live which means we have the next two weeks to disenchant these cards for full value. Not in the loop on the card changes? Not a problem!
- Incanter's Flow - Cost is now 3 mana (Up from 2).
- Battleground Battlemaster - Cost is now 6 mana (Up from 5).
- Granite Forgeborn - Health is now 4 (Down from 5).
- Conviction (Rank 1) - All ranks now cost 2 mana (Up from 1).
- Flesh Giant - Cost is now 9 mana (Up from 8).
- Darkglare - Cost is now 3 mana (Up from 2). Stats increased from 2/3 to 3/4.
- Kolkar Pack Runner - Cost is now 3 mana (Up from 2). Stats increased from 2/3 to 3/4.
- Il'gynoth - Cost is now 6 mana (Up from 4). Stats increased from 2/6 to 4/8.
If you missed the original comments from Blizzard on why these cards were nerfed, here's what they had to say.
Quote From Blizzard Dev Comments: After two weeks of monitoring the rapidly evolving United in Stormwind launch metagame, we’re making a few balance changes to slow down the speed of the game by a turn or two. Overall, this translates to two things: limiting the efficiency at which combo decks can assemble the pieces they need to win, and reducing the burst damage that board-based decks have access to from hand. We hope that these changes will give a bit more room for slower strategies to find success in this meta, and we’ll continue to keep an eye on the live game to see if any further changes are needed.
When Do August's Card Nerfs Dust Refunds End?
The above cards will all remain disenchantable for full arcane dust value through August 31.
When Blizzard offers dust refunds for nerfed and changed cards, they do so for two weeks following the patch. We always recommend getting your dust as soon as possible though so you don't forget to take advantage of the situation. With that said, we'll have a reminder post go live in advance of the end of the disenchant period.
New Feature: Refund Keyword in the Collection
When Patch 21.0 hit with preparations for United in Stormwind, a very important feature was added to the collection manager. No more do we need to manually go looking for refund-capable cards because Blizzard added in a new keyword that will find them for you.
By typing "refund" in the collection manager search box, you will now be able to find these cards together and make your decision on whether or not they are getting dusted. An excellent addition to the game that unfortunately took this long to make happen. It doesn't matter though, we'll always take a quality of live improvement and as they say, the second best time to plant a tree is today.
Quote From Blizzard Searching “Refund” in the Collection will now populate with cards eligible for a dust refund.

Meanwhile, warlock is still bs.
I forgot to dust my extra copies of Granite Forgeborn and now I see that none of the nerfed cards give their full disenchant value. Is it just me or am I missing something here?
One tip I would like to start seeing in articles like this is a caveat to the usual advice of 'always disenchant, its full price, so you can always make it later at no loss'. I mean, I know this article does not come out and say that, but its kind of a perception still in the Hearthstone culture from before duplicate protection was a thing. Now that its a thing, there is a caveat folks should know, to avoid a misunderstanding and disappointment.
That caveat is this: Do NOT forget that disenchanting sets a flag in the duplicate protection that says 'I do not ever want this card again until I have all the others.' That's important, because the ONLY way to easily get it back once you disenchant it is to craft it again, which can sometimes be difficult if you are low on dust and duplicates.
It is important to understand why getting it from packs again is much harder than during duplicate protection... it is because once you set a 'this was disenchanted once' flag on a card slot, you will NEVER open that card in a pack again until:
1.) there are no other cards left of that rarity that you do not have
AND
2.) only on a purely random basis after that
This is because once disenchanted, the part of dup protection that gives you cards you do not have is forever turned off for that card.
Because many folks do not have experience or understanding of this fact, I will repeat in slightly different wording:
Once the only 'missing' cards you have at a given rarity are all cards you have disenchanted, you will STILL not get ANY of those missing cards automatically, only on the old-fashioned 100% random basis.
I learned this by disenchanting a legendary in a full set, thinking 'no sweat, I will get him back next legendary I open' but NOPE, didn't get him on any of the next 4 Legendary cards opened, just duplicates of others. Contacted Blizzard and they explained the above to me, about the flag set by disenchanting, which says you never get it in a pack again, until you have all the other non-flagged cards, and then, only on a purely random basis.
Duplicate protection only works through the first time you fill any given card slot. It ignores opening cards in slots you had once but disenchanted, on the deliberate 'logic' that if you disenchanted it, you don't ever want it again, even beyond once its the only empty slot left.
got 2140 dust, for disenchanting all commons and rares.
Just as a side note, the "refund" search doesnt work in mobile from what I can tell, nor does it show the proper refund amount. I had to log into the PC to use both things.
That is incorrect. Using the 'refund' search on my mobile device presented me every golden and regular card that was included in this balance patch.
I kept the Goldens and dusted the extras just because I like shiny things.
Your mobile client wasn't updated then yet. It has to patch with the latest data before any of that will work.
Thank you for telling me about the "refund" search command. It makes life easier.
I'm enjoying my Golden Standard pack /s
(Now, the crown is missing from Illidan in the Book of Heroes...)
O_o
the crown was already missing for me after i finished the story and i never got a golden pack even though i updated today feelsbadman
Noo body knows the trouble I've seen. Noo body but ... >the folks that don't push the shift key<
"Refund". I definitely won't forget that someday like I do most other standard commands...
On a related note, is there a page on this site that lists all the special commands we can use in the comments? I always forget the specifics of things like golden cards, and wouldn't know where to start with the different versions of the same card HS has across game modes. If it doesn't already exist, a guide that sets all this out would be welcome.
We do, though it was never ported into our new guides system so it isn't easy to find. We also need to update it with Refund
https://outof.cards/guides/6-how-to-collection-filters
Thanks! Is there a similar guide for outof.cards commands too? I know the buttons we have when writing comments ('quote', 'spoiler', 'card' etc.) isn't the complete list of available commands.
No, anything not on the editor isn't really intended for "outside" use atm. Long-term goals are to have a proper knowledgebase for that kind of stuff though.
Thanks. That’s a great guide! Much better than the Blizzard blog post I linked below.
I updated it with "refund". I know there are more updates still needed, but that will have to wait :)
The best resource I know of is the old blog post when Blizzard announced the special commands: https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/news/20056284
I agree that we need a better one, especially if new items like “refund” are being added.
They relewae any bundles this time?
