THESE HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED TO BE CORRECT.
Yesterday it was announced that 23 Wild cards were going to be added to Standard for a limited-time event. Apparently, those cards were given to Grandmaster's players early, which makes sense due to them likely having to play with the cards at some point on the competitive level Hearthstone has to offer.
We believe this leak to be extremely accurate due to the cards which are involved. Details were sourced from a tweet from sipiwi94, which originated from the CompetitiveHS Discord. The only confirmed cards right now are Ragnaros the Firelord and N'Zoth, the Corruptor
Just remember, none of these are official until Blizzard confirms them on October 4 and if Blizzard really wanted to, they should change their minds. The only confirmed cards right now are Ragnaros the Firelord and N'Zoth, the Corruptor. Read on for all the cards that may be a part of this event.

Yes, everyone will get free event copies, even the people who already have them, and no they cannot be dusted
'Who am I?' returns! PTSD incoming.
Rogue is full of deathrattle interaction cards. They have 2 deathrattle related legendaries. Yet at the end of they day even with N'zoth Rogue Deathrattle will still fail to do well. That makes me sad.
Was hoping that the card additions might shake up some of the struggling classes. Mage got some help but rogue just got some meme cards.
Aww, where is my Coldlight Oracle? Why would you add all these cool cards if you can't mill them properly?
Will the former classic cards regain their classic status? Zephrys the Great would approve.
I would assume they are still HoF, not clasic
Honestly, I don't see any card in the set that would work with Zephrys except maybe Lightbomb in some very specific cases.
I think Ragnaros or Sylvanas would be pretty solid when you need to saturate your mana with good tempo plays.
Also I believe those are the only 2 that previously were classic which is what I was referring to.
Unfortunately, I doubt it. In order for that to happen they would have to program those picks as options for zephrys to grab based on the situation, which the creators explained was their hardest card creation ever. While that seems like a cool idea, we are talking about our little indie company. It would take a lot more work.
While I agree and don't think they'll do this, how complicated could it be? Zephrys isn't looking for lethals with these cards. It's simply solid tempo plays. I can see Rag taking that Tirion spot we see today, and Sylvanas could take the Highmane slot.
If they wanted they could maybe delve deeper into the cards functions to maybe see %lethals or tempo swings, but since they're back temporarily anyways, just the solid tempo option would be enough imo.
<Starting dream>
Aaaaah, Quest warlock maybe will work with these!
</ending dream>
I dont like Renounce Darkness because i love the darkness of my warlock :c
Flamewaker would single-handedly revive Mage.
Cyclone mage for sure will come back. Given time maybe even some new archetypes show up we can't even see yet.
That's interesting. Seems like they're experimenting different way to make something fresh by using time-limited events. That may (finally) lead to a new permanent format that could be in between Wild and Standard as avaible sets.
I really don't understand why they thought it'd be a good idea to have so many of these be unplayable meme cards like renounce the darkness, lock and load, astral communion, etc.
You are only looking through the lens of power level. You need to remember all players will receive these cards for free so it's not like you have to waste dust to play them. I'll be playing some renounce fun decks, doesn't always have to be about climbing that ladder.
It's not that difficult to understand. Meme's are fun. End of Story
Cards can be meme-y and still playable, CF Yogg-saron. Wasting slots on cards that are just hot garbage is, well, a waste. I'd rather have cards that would actually affect the standard meta if they were still in the game. If you just want to play silly meme decks you can just go do that in wild anyway.
An important point in this case is that there will be a sizable number of players who don't own Renounce Darkness but would now get a chance to mess around with it without having to craft the card. To the meme-playing, F2P casuals Renounce Darkness is potentially more interesting than the cards which might affect the meta.
That's a fair point regarding Renounce the Darkness, but a bunch of the other class cards just don't make sense to me. Even if it slots into aggro warrior, I doubt anyone had Bloodhoof Brave on their wishlist, for example.
