And now the first Rogue deathrattle since Stormwind...is Secret supports.
They have to be doing this on purpose, right?
I like this, but I get the feeling it might be a "too many moving parts" situation to get this card to consistently perform well.
I like this. It incentivizes the Rogue's opponent to interact with Secrets in a way that I don't think Hearthstone has had before. You WANT to trigger your opponent's Secrets before killing Halkias, or you want to try extra-hard not to trigger them after he dies. These seem like extra interesting decisions thanks to the secret revealed here: If you want to trigger it before killing Halkias, then you must spend all your mana and be prepared to kill him with minions. If you want to play around this Secret so that Halkias stays trapped, you face a high cost (leaving mana unspent). And if you trigger it when you aren't prepared for it, then Halkias appears at the end of your turn so he'll get to attack as soon as the Rogue's turn starts.
I find this one uninspiring. Also in no way shape or form is that an elemental. It is clearly a mech.
I thought it looked like a mech at first too, but on closer inspection, it looks more like a living building, so "sinstone golem" sounds right.
We've had sugar elementals, so why not, eh?
No, Halkias in lore is not a mech. It is a giant sinstone golem powered by anima. The only mechs in the shadowlands are in Bastion.
This is a very cool legendary. A vanilla 4 mana 5/4 that you can sometimes summon again.
I can put this in my Dust Control Rogue. I hope I open a golden one from packs.
Secrect rogue again no please.
The art is sick tho
Invalid Deck ID
What kind of wording is this, just say it will resummon when secret triggered. Why the need to explain his soul go here or there?
Flavor.
Because you can have active more than 1 secret, and only one will get this card back to life. So they used the word store, and the word soul perhaps refer to what you see when you scroll over the secret
Because we're in the Shadowlands, so more afterlife = more flavor. I guess.
I was not aware that elementals had souls.
It's cool.
There's about 5 more rogue cards left, so there's bound to be at least 2 secrets, because the current crop of secrets in rogue are fairly abysmal.
Either way, this card is fairly unamazing, but will likely see play as long as secret rogue does. Dont let the deathrattle fool you, there's little to no chance of rogue playing its deathrattle support cards along with this because its nearly impossible to fit both packages into a winning deck. The only worthy support card that will feature in both secret rogue would be Counterfeit Blade, and even then its would be mostly for the 8 damage.
Unless of course the secrets themselves synergizes with deathrattles, but at this point I regard any form of optimism for rogue deathrattle support to be mere sad cases of delusion brought upon by repeated let downs.
What "current crop"? There are no rogue secrets in Standard currently. So it's highly likely there will be 3 added this set like both previous times secrets were added (back) into Standard.
I keep thinking Shadow Clone is in standard. Oh well
3 secrets it is then. Because any less would be a farce, and any more would be unprecedented
It's worth noting that Sketchy Stranger can net two more secret in Standard.
One could probably strech it a bit by playing Tess and/or Contraband Stash for a couple more non-rogue secret iteration.
Trying to bounce/copy sketchy stranger repeatedly would probably be pushing it too far. Too costly, and too slow. Even for an optimist like me :-D
It's a lot more viable in wild, obviously. Where more secret are readily and undirectly (Shadowjeweler ?) available.
Well would you look at that, a rogue deathrattle. And one that costs 4 too so it can actually work well with Sketchy Information, and indeed it's kinda like Korrak the Bloodrager's weird cousin.
I guess the question will be whether rogue's secrets work well with this. I assume at least one of them will trigger upon minion death, else it will be difficult to rely on them still being around when Halkias dies, but quick to trigger and re-summon him afterwards. Edit: it looks like the secret in the video is something like "When a friendly minion dies, draw 2 cards", but it's not super easy to tell when one can't read Korean.
I'm pretty sure this will have some really weird interactions.
