Madame Lazul and Maiev Shadowsong Skins Return to Hearthstone's In-Game Shop for a Limited Time

Published 3 years, 4 months ago by

Murder at Castle Nathria is approaching fast with the Rewards Track full of expansion-themed hero skins, while the older bundles celebrating the Fire Festival are slowly leaving the shop and getting replaced with new deals.

Constructed Skin Bundles

Only the latest Fire Festival Bundle, Fire Tamers, remains in the shop, consisting of skins for three classes (Druid, Shaman, and Warlock) as well as 3 Class Packs for each of the aforementioned for $24.99 or your regional equivalent.

Filling in the void left by the other bundles are limited time deals for Madame Lazul and Maiev Shadowsong skins. The former was the pre-order Priest skin for Rise of Shadows back in 2019, and the skin later returned for a limited time shop deal. Unlike last time, when the skin was sold for $11.99, it now costs $9.99 or 1500 gold.

Maiev, in turn, could be obtained for free via a special Quest celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Mammoth in 2018. The skin was later purchasable for $6.99 or 1000 gold from the in-game shop for a couple of weeks before later becoming purchasable for 1200 gold from the hero skin tab. The better-value deal has now returned.

Battlegrounds Bundles

For Battlegrounds, the in-game shop shows nothing but the Fire Festival Mega Bundle can still be purchased from battle.net for another week. The bundle consists of Blazing Skies Battlegrounds Strike, Wrathion as an alternate Bartender and a whopping 15 skins for various heroes, and is available for $29.99.

  • no one talking about lunara???? as beautiful as creepy

    • Which Lunara?

      • the darkest one

        • While I like her vibes, her face kind of seems... off...

  • Bests ones (Garrosh, kelThuzad) are paid skins of course. What a shame. Would have been a great reason to invest in the pass if these two were in there.

Also, I kinda feel team5 should have just given Maiev for free, like they did years ago. Charging 7 bucks for it now? That's expensive, especially given how many choices we have nowadays for skins.

  • So many awesome skins this time around with the Tavern Pass. As others have said, the new Tyrande is top tier. I also especially like the Renathal (warrior I think), Liadrin, Morgl, and Sylvanas ones.

    • Yep, Renathal is a Warrior skin.

  • I was probably gonna buy the Tavern Pass anyway, but I'm definitely gunning for Kyrian Tyrande. I don't play the Priest often, but when I do, I'm playing as an angel.

Might end up grabbing that Kel'Thuzad, too, if it sounds/emotes better than the Scholomance pre-purchase one. Vashj is cool as well; maybe they're in a bundle? I was on the verge of quitting before this expansion, but alas...in for a penny, in for a pound I guess.

  • Just to remind everyone, these skins that you can buy for in-game currency come with more visual effects than most of the newly released ones you can only get for real money.

Grab 'em while they're hot is all I'm saying...

  • Quite sad they didn't update the Hero Tab for more heroes to be purchasable. Feels like they either forgot or dropped it completely.

  • I always get the paid pass. It ends up giving me a lot of extras, and about 2k-4k more gold than the free track. So it pays for itself. So far I have avoided buying pre releases of expansions up till Nathria. I just didnt play enough to get above 10k gold. I already have Maiev and wouldnt use Lazul over Tyrande for priest so its a pass on it.

  • 99% sure I am not going to buy the pass, but boy I am in love with that Kyrian Tyrande skin.

I just have to hope it doesn't have whack emotes...

  • That new KT looks great. Probably my favorite of the new ones.

  • They pop this skin sale for a skin I've been waiting for for ages right before the expansion drops. Figures.

  • The original Maiev skin is still the best. The new versions just don't do justice for that psycho.

    • Psycho? That is slanderous! I'll have you know that it's perfectly reasonable to keep a shirtless, sculpted, slab of a man locked up for only yourself to watch over because he's been a bad, bad, boy ! And if somebody steals your man, you have get him back because he's M I N E. Perfectly. Reasonable.
