Remember when shortly after Murder at Castle Nathria was released, a one-off thematic Special 'Legendary' Quest showed up in our in-game journals out of nowhere? There was some initial confusion within the community as a result, until we'd received due clarification and confirmation of another follow-up task set for one week later. But then that was it for the entire month of August. Two separate quests, two new expansion packs. No other particular promotions.
And now we are back at it again - and just as unexpectedly - two full weeks since the arrival of the adjacent Mini-Set known as Maw and Disorder. The only difference this time around is there being a dual package of special quests available from the get go, thus forming a particular mini-chain. The designated time frame for their completion is considerably shorter, too - just one week to do the deeds and collect the free packs (one Standard type and one from Castle Nathria, respectively).
New Castle Nathria Quest Chain
Given the naming conventions in play and the general narrative of the expansion, the new quests pick up (in a way) from where the previous two left off:
- Special Quest #1: Unusual Suspects - Discover 5 cards. (Reward: 1 Standard card pack)
- Special Quest #2: Crack the Case - Play 7 cards that have been infused. (Reward: 1 Castle Nathria card pack)
Technically, these current two special quests could be considered a little more difficult than their initial counterparts from two months ago (which was just to play 5 Infuse cards and 3 Locations). Discover is as easy as it gets, but infusing your cards is bound to take a little more effort.
Still, nothing that couldn't be done through regular play if you choose to put your faith in the usual suspects such as Sire Denathrius, Sylvanas, the Accused, Famished Fool, or Insatiable Devourer. Or with a quicker specialized deck for either Constructed mode and Casual Duels; perhaps even a fitting Tavern Brawl.
In fact, there are at least a couple of classes which naturally lend themselves toward this exact Infused strategy, while remaining very competitive.
Infuse-Friendly Decks
Beast Hunter remains popular and strong, so we could take advantage of that by going for the more token-based version where Infuse is the name of the game.
Or when in doubt, call the elements. With a more deliberate style of Control Shaman.
Just don't wait until the very last moment if you can help it! The countdown on these offerings knows of no extensions - once the time is up, they will simply disappear from everyone's in-game logs. As always with such type of quests, the mini-chain takes up its own 'legendary' slot and doesn't take away from the regular three daily options.
May you find some stellar cards in your gifted packs (with balance changes around the corner, perhaps also something to disenchant for that extra dust)! It's always nice to see such a small bonus surprise appear now and then. And so it turns out that October had more in store for us than just "freebies" for watching Hearthstone Esports.

Good call! That prompted me to go back and pick a couple of fitting Infuse decks to include as well.
