Whooooa! In today's Hearthstone update notes, Blizzard dropped a crazy bomb on us - Wild Packs and Adventures are returning to the shop!
- A new in-game shop will roll out next week when Descent of Dragons launches.
- The new shop will allow you to purchase old Adventures*.
- The new shop will allow you to purchase Wild Packs for Gold and Real Money.
- You can claim Tyrande Whisperwind for free by visiting the new Hearthstone shop.
- The Sylvanas Windrunner hero will be available for purchase for $10 USD.
- Magni, Medivh, and Alleria are leaving the shop.
* We don't know why, but old Adventures are not purchasable with Gold unless you've already bought a wing in the past.
Quote From Blizzard Hearthstone’s in-game shop is being redesigned to improve navigation and accessibility, with these changes rolling out globally December 9-10. In the new shop, you’ll find bundles, Card Packs, Alternate Heroes, and more together in a single location – additionally, Adventures and Wild Card Packs are being added, with the option to purchase Wild Card Packs using gold.
On December 10, we’ll be rotating the current lineup of Heroes available in the shop – they may return at a later date, but for now, be sure to take advantage of the current Hero sale featuring Magni, Medivh, and Alleria!

They probably Finally realized how much money they could make from hero portraits and have just now made enough portraits to rotate through the shop. Hopefully they add other missed portraits for players who missed some of the pre-order exclusives
Maybe they just figured it would be worth to try again now that Hero Portraits are of much higher quality nowadays and people are more willing to actually spend money on those, especially since the huge paywall of a bundle is just too much for the average player
I really hope this makes people more interested in playing wild!!!
Great, great updates. Wild definitely needs more accessibility to be more successful as a game mode.
Thank fuck the Wild packs are coming back. They should have never left.
As a mainly wild player who joined the game after sets like Nax and GvG were already gone, I'm very happy to see this. Wish it would have come out over a year ago so I could have saved the money I ended up spending to get Nax from the cash shop when it became available.
