Celebrate the Lunar New Year! Choose a class and get a random deck, choose an animal to receive its blessing and power!
How it Works
- Choose a class. You'll receive a random deck for that class.
- Once you get in-game, you'll get to choose an animal blessing.
- The animal blessing is a discover pick - you can choose from 1 of 3 randomly assigned options.
The Animal Blessings
There are 12 different animals you can choose from, each one represents an animal of the Chinse Zodiac.
Head on over to our dedicated brawl page to discuss the brawl and learn more!

From the brawls i played i got the impression that the 3 animal blessings are always the same for a given class.
For Priest i recommend Blessing of the Pig (coin for minion played): 3 wins in 3 games.
For Shaman i recommend Blessing of the Monkey (evolve a minion at end of turn): 6 wins out of 6 games.
I can confirm that Blessing of the Dog and Blessing of the Rat are, despite the wording indicating as such, not recursive. The hounds don't make new hounds and the Reborn is not infinite. Also, Blessing of the Tiger and Blessing of the Ox are missing a comma after "minion".
And the blessings don't seem to be randomly assigned either. I always got Tiger, Dragon and Dog as Paladin.
I was wanting to think that getting Blessing of the Horse 4 times in a row as a mage was just a lucky coincidence but now that you say you basically experienced the same playing Paladin ... that can't only be the randomly generated random when it is that consistent. As for the inconsistent wording and passive effect not triggering, need I to remind you all that the 3 previous brawl iterations were ... having issues. Now 4th?
So, having played it a bit I figured out that you only get three choices per class and Priest is trash. Don't play Priest.
100+60+100 dust/gold quests for first trio, preeeeetty nice!
You guys get your leg quests already? Brawl is open, but no sign of any new quests here on EU :(
there isn't a leg quest, the normal daly quest gets replaced by a new one that also rewards dust
I got a normal quest this morning plus a New Year quest when that event went live. Maybe it’s intended to be one quest per day, but the event and the normal day started at different times.
I don’t know if this behavior will repeat tomorrow, but just to be sure I’ll log in in both the morning and afternoon.
Update: Nope. I got my New Years quest this morning.
Thanks mate - was worried I was missing out!
Exactly the distraction I was needing from Coronavirus - Happy year of the B/Rat ^^
It would be pretty cool if instead of the regular classic pack we got a "year of the dragon" pack for our first win in the brawl.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.
Stop having good ideas. That isn't allowed in Hearthstone!
For real though, Classic packs are boring.
And pointless to some players...
The average pack is worth a bit over 100 dust, so it's always useful. And if you have all the cards, you can actually disenchant whatever is in the pack and hit that average, unlike people who are still missing parts of the Classic set (10 legendaries to go for me).
Nope.. the average dust gain of opening a pack is only 40-50 dust. (rounded up).
Based on opening 40 packs, most of it were commons and rares, 1 epic every 6 packs, and 1 legend every 20 packs. (average)
So. at most, if you're lucky, you get 120-140 dust gain (if you got 1 epic), and 420-440 dust gain (if you got 1 legendary). But it won't be that often.

Yeah, honestly, I wish they'd just give us gold. I understand there are problems with that, such as us being able to buy packs from new expansions easier instead of spending money, but if we look at Legends of Runeterra and how right they are doing things to make the game F2P, Hearthstone needs to "get learnt".
Blizzard is going to have to really dedicate themselves this year to revamp the economy in Hearthstone because if they wait too long, I know people that won't come back. Last year was a damn incredible year for the game with them, for the first time ever, being on the ball and releasing plenty of content between sets. It took them years to get to that point though and for many, it was too late to get people back into the game.
We're off to a good start this year with 35 cards being released for $20 (this is INSANE value) or a relatively small amount of gold, though I do worry they do this at least once more this year for another $20 so it has effectively added $40 to the overall price of the game per year. I hope we see better deals on expansions or a change in card drop-rates / crafting costs.
TL;DR: Blizzard, your Tavern Brawl rewards suck.
This recently new found anger of Flux can't be a coincidence, for i know whats going on here.
The Riot side is strong in you...A powerful LoR player you will become!
Hah, if only it was newfound =(
The game has a lot of problems and I've been happy to see them get addressed, but it still makes me sad that it took them so long to stop being afraid of updating the game.
I don’t have a real problem with the Brawl reward. If they changed it to something like 50 dust, that would seem more than fair for the effort it takes. Even if you have every Classic card, the average pack is worth more than that.
I totally agree that Hearthstone needs to improve their reward system overall. Your first 2-3 hours of time per week have a great return on investment: That keeps up with the week’s Brawl and Quests, earning you several packs. But beyond that, you’ll need to put in 6 or 8 more hours to earn ONE more pack!
I expect the rewards to slow down as you play more, but not nearly that fast. I hope Hearthstone steals some ideas from Runeterra. (Or just about any other F2P game.)
It feels like they have upped the rewards, but now they're releasing five sets a year which for F2P is not the greatest. I've definitely pared down to playing only Mage, Shaman, and Rouge.
