Welcome to the Hearthstone realm!
The deck should be played as a midrange: defend against aggro and try to win quickly versus control.
You should try to play as much stuff as possible to try to stabilize. Don't worry about spending too much resources and not getting those sweet buffs from huge hand size. The only thing that matters is that you don't die. But be careful with wasting your healing: you have limited amount and it really really helps. Generally you should try to heal only after you've played your Hooked Reaver. Sometimes even playing Sunfury Protector on turn two without granting a taunt is the best play if you can contest a key minion from your opponent.
Mulligans: Sunfury Protector Vulgar Homunculus Lesser Amethyst Spellstone Hellfire Defile
If your opponent does not present any threats on first two or three turns generally it's better to just tap and pass to get the most out of your hand size. When your hand is full by turn 3 or 4 you should start creating threats for your opponent. And don't forget to tap often. Remember that your health is a resource: you win the same with 1 health left as with 30.
Mulligans: Mountain Giant Dark Alley Pact Twilight Drake
If you don't know what you're up against always mulligan as versus aggro.
Royal Librarian - situational but has tradable. Tradable may turn out to be OP: pay 1 mana for a chance to draw an answer so it is essentially thinning your deck at a mana cost.
Abyssal Summoner - seems a bit slow against aggro but the summon has taunt
Khartut Defender - if you struggle against aggro
Doomsayer - good against aggro early but usually useless otherwise
